We took some photos yesterday to acknowledge the compelling nature of the dramatic bruising on my abdomen following recent surgery to remove a fallopian tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. It was my birthday! 😅 Although my fertility has taken a hit, I was happy to discover that I could conceive, and amazed to discover that removing one fallopian tube doesn't mean losing access to half my eggs. The remaining fallopian tube will actually waft across like a tentacle and pick up the ova from the opposite side. Did you know it worked like that? I'd had no idea. Processing my loss is something that will have to happen in due course, but right now I'm still basking in the relief of no longer being in excruciating and terrifying pain. It's fortunate that I didn't ignore the pain for any longer than I did (which was four days), as something would eventually have ruptured and the damage would have been life-threatening. (I guess I wasn't ovary-acting?)
