The Butterfly Collector

Hello there - and thanks for dropping by.

A long time ago, in a studio far, far away... I practised hard and had some success. Now I'm back in the saddle again - still feeling a bit like a newbie, but learning slowly and happy to share.

Who / what am I?  Well, I'm a scouser by birth so I bring a sense of humour to every shoot. Having put up with me for 40 years, my wife will tell you that "he's in bad company when he's on his own...". That's her way of saying that I'm mischievous and respectful in equal measures. I have nieces the same age as the ladies I photograph, so you can rest assured that I care about your welfare. Having said that, we're all adults - so you can laugh, curse, and otherwise speak freely in my presence. I'm drawn to personality as much as looks - that "warm" feeling you get when you meet a new friend. As such, I take people as I find them and cross my fingers that they will do likewise.

I'm definitely a hobbyist and doing this only because I enjoy it. I will collaborate, but for me that's more about sharing ideas than looking for freebies. If you think I have something to offer you - please ask. I pay every model I photograph and I'm very approachable.

The main page is a cross-section of my work, both old and new. I don't subscribe to the notion that any model has one "best" look (anyway, we all see things slightly differently), so I tend to post images in short series. However they're rarely the limit of the set. So if you see something you particularly like, scroll down to the albums - there may be more.

A big thank you to the ladies for their patience, to the studio owners for their help, and to everybody else on the port for the critique and encouragement. Please continue to watch this space.
