I attended Erica’s workshop at the boardroom in Derby , I’ve never had the experience to shoot a dancer nor ballet to be honest. I found this very informative from a model/dancer perspective. I’d never had known to think about things from their skill set.

Yes as a photographer I want the best of my images and my vision to come to life but after this workshop I’ll be working on my knowledge of the moves, names and will ask my dancers on their thoughts before the actual shoot.

Planning everything will be the most important part of any shoot so that on the day it should 😁 flow.

However working with Erica, amazing she knows her stuff and so very confident in each move. Erica is so kind and it is always lovely to work with someone who understands us as a photographer too.

You can tell that Erica has been doing this along time.

Erica was my co-host at the 'Dance Photography Tuition and Editing Tips' event. Her knowledge of dance and her ability to offer valuable tips and guidance to the attendees were truly impressive. We all had a great time learning about different ballet moves, a bit of history, and plenty of useful modeling insights. Her passion for dance and her commitment to sharing her knowledge with the group were clear throughout the event. The group gave excellent feedback about the valuable insights they gained from her. I highly recommend Erica for dance-related events or workshops. Her professionalism and expertise are top-notch.

I had the pleasure of working with Ballerina Erica Mulkern for the first time on a 1-2-1 at the Shapeshifter studio in Warrington. Pre shoot comms were perfect (organised, prompt, and informative). Erica arrived early giving us time to chill with a brew and plan out the session. She came very well prepared with a super selection of outfits that fitted her style and my requests from her online catalogue.

Erica is genuinely such a lovely chilled and easy going person with so much talent, creativeness, and passion about her craft. It was such a chilled and relaxed shoot as if we had worked together many times before. Throughout the shoot Erica was full of positive energy putting 110% effort into every shot, Erica not only poses effortlessly but she has an amazing eye for the fine details ensuring she brings any concept to life with an amazing Wow factor.

If you are lucky enough to work with this fantastic young lady, then you’re in for an amazing shoot. Totally recommended.

I was very lucky to meet and work with Erica through an organised shoot with Events Days. Erica is not only an amazingly talented ballerina but also a truly lovely person to work with. Very easy going very collaborative and truly knows her profession extremely well making your job as a photographer so much easier.

Welshot Photographic Training & Events

This was our second shoot with Erica (the first was at the Chester Crowne Plaza in December 2023 and this time we had booked her to work at our studio in Llandudno for the whole weekend and we were blown away by Erica's professionalism and knowledge.

Erica worked hard to ensure that our 5 delegates got all the images that they wanted to build their portfolio - over two full days of photography. We loved it how she would explain to a photographer why a photo would work better if she/they did this (having a professional dancer makes all the difference) or did that...

Communication was spot on - styling, clothing and accessories were superb and Erica was always ready to go!

We've already got Erica booked for another 2 shoots (in Chester) and we cannot wait.

WOW - JUST WOW! What an amazing person Erica Mulkern is. Not only is she the ultimate professional when it comes to modelling and her commissions for an events organisation but she is knowledgeable about what a photographer needs/wants in reference to dance photography. Happy, willing, conscientious, patient and dedicated - these are just a few words we would use to describe Erica who modelled at her first Welshot event yesterday at the Chester Crowne Plaza. Erica arrived in plenty of time and was always ready to shoot. Well mannered and more than happy to help put some of our lesser experienced photographers at ease when she realised they were just starting out on their photographic journey. This was a "Getting To Know You" photo-shoot to introduce Team Welshot to Erica but we are already thanking our future selves for having booked Erica for further shoots. We would like to say a VERY BIG Thank you to Erica for going above and beyond and well and truly for getting into the team spirit.

My first shoot with Erica and it was a pleasure. Our pre-shoot planning went smoothly as she promptly responded to messages. Between us agreed to several wonderful outfits/looks. She was professional during the shoot - on time, engaged, posed without direction, as well as taking on direction if there were specific poses I was interested in. It was clear to see, she is an amazingly talented dancer and model. Overall, a lovely person too.

I attended Erica's 'Clash of the Queens' event at Silkwood Studio and it was very well organised, as all of Erica's events are. She and Cat Mida Lee worked together extremely well and we had an opportunity to shoot them independently. It is always a pleasure to be able to photograph Erica as she always does everything she can to help photographers get good images. Erica is one of the models I am always happy to be able to work with and I can recommend her whole heartedly.

Camelot Photography

This shoot was a duo shoot arranged by Erica in which she was styled as Marie Antionette. Pre-shoots comms were as always first class and an intinery/schedule had been sent well in advance. The previous group finished on time and the group I was in was good to go on time. Erica had covered every angle and had a dresser and a lighting expert on hand to make sure all was good.

Although it was a single look shoot I managed to put a twist on and got some images which nobody else replicated. Happy as always to work with Erica as you know she is a consummate professional who delivers. Looking forward to working with her again in February and March next year.

With sincere apologies to Erica for this delayed reference- I’ve had much catching up to do after caring for my father in Canada until he died following his cancer surgery, and the resultant PTSD I’ve been dealing with thereafter.

It was lovely to meet and work with Erica, after I’d been admiring her work for the past many years. I saw her beautiful dance images while I was stuck in Canada during the pandemic, and I felt that, although I was not able to do ballet shoots in England during that time myself, at least the work was going to somebody I recognised clearly has highly levels of training, talent, and dedication to the hard discipline and pure art of ballet (which is not always the case on this site).

It was a lovely surprise when Erica kindly recommended me for Tabitha Boydell group ballet shoots.

I am often hired for shoots whereby I am stuck naked in a bog somewhere in December, so it was a great treat to be indoors somewhere warm, and with beautiful architecture- and a rare opportunity to show that I am indeed capable of wearing clothes.

It was lovely to witness, in the Sylphides group montages Erica choreographed, both Erica’s impressive solo jetés, and her skilful pas de deux partnering with Daniel Longhurst, as well as the neverending stream of gorgeous Tabitha Boydell styling. It was interesting to work with Erica as part of a group also- she has a keen sense of humor as well as being multi-talented- she proved she can wink and also perform a grand plié to pick up her keys, as well as providing amusing behind-the-scenes observations. She has also been unfailingly sweet, generous, friendly and supportive to me.

My most favorite ballerinas always go beyond technique, and show heart- as well as grace and spirit. Erica has all these in abundance.

Highly Recommended, and I hope we will work together again. Thank You, Erica. X

It's always a joy to shoot with Erica. This time I travelled to Yorkshire for back to back shots at the Silkwood Studio (highly recommended). The first was with Erica alone; we worked our way through a number of styles and costumes and I have some fabulous images from the few hours we spent together. Erica was, as always, well prepared, hard working, endlessly creative and just a delight! The next day I joined a group shoot: The Clash of the Queens with both Erica and Cat Mida Lee. The costumes were exquisite we all had a lovely time. Huge thanks Erica xx

PGD Modelling and Photography Studios

Another successful model day with Erica, this time we went with a theme Erica has never done, a little bit of Cyber Ballet - the look of future dance, with a head piece some minor armour add-ons, and with the contemporary style of posing that Erica pulled off the results were absolutely awesome.

Along with 2 other popular looks being available.

As always with Erica - everything was on point. Styling, precoms, timings, everything. It was a great day, a sell out day and we have another later in December.

I hardley need tell you all what an great model Erica is, her portfolio and reputation speak for themselves, but I will anyway; Erica is an excellent model and a supberb dancer. Not just that but she is a genuinely lovely person too and made the shoot I did with her yesterday a real pleasure. I had some specific ideas of what I wanted and Erica delivered right at the start, so there was plenty of time to do other stuff too. Erica was also able to help me work out lighting and other aspects of the shoot when I was unsure. I'll definitely look forward to working with Erica again.
