Although I've been a photographer for a while, I feel I'm still learning. To help with this, I like practising some photography in an environment where most of the factors can be controlled (so there's no excuse for a poor shot other than my execution of it) - so studio work is my focus.

My ideal shoot would be one where I ended up with a handful of really good shots that were technically excellent. To this end, I tend to book plenty of time and arrive at a shoot with some quite broad ideas or objectives. The model and I can then refine them over a cup of tea and set about working at them. As it's a hobby, I'm quite relaxed about the overall process and there's usually a lot of tea drunk while we review the results of each session. I find that the model has a lot to contribute to the ideas so I'm primarily looking to book models with plenty of experience.
