One of my first ever studio shoots and I could not have asked for a better introduction.

Lots of backdrops and interesting knooks and crannies to work in together with an excellent outdoor area to shoot.

Very good support was given to me as I got to grips with lighting/hot shoes and camera settings.

Recommended to one and all.

I did just get to shoot & stay at this amazing studio, I got to shoot with awesome Kevin too!

Studio owner, perfect host & lighting extraordinare Kevin!

Using the extensive lighting equipment and spaces, we got some amazing images done, with some lovely styling from the man himself, taking advantage of the awesome wardrobe he has amassed at the studio :)

This is my favourite studio to visit, I just love it - thank you so much for such epic times, I'll miss it and you Kevin!

I shoot at York Photo Studio A LOT, so it seemed about time that I gave an updated reference. Thanks to Kevin's hard work, the studio has got better and better. There are plenty of options for shooting spaces, all the equipment you could need, a huge variety of clothing and props (seriously, HUGE) and Kevin is always on hand to help set up lighting or hold a reflector. It's just a great place to shoot :)

I finally had the pleasure of having an awesome studio day at Kevin’s, and a duo studio day at that alongside the wonderful Will Newton!

I have shot at Kevin’s over the years on many occasions but not since his renovations and moving the studio downstairs.

So Kevin’s references certainly do speak for themselves, he is the most genuinely kind, thoughtful, hard working, and lovely person you could meet, and come on his shots also speak for themselves... he’s an awesome photographer!

You can tell how much hard work has gone into the studio, fantastic kitchen area set up and readily working with tea station, microwave and all amenities so if you fancy cooking a pizza whilst you’re shouting then go for it! Beautifully set up bedroom for boudoir photography, gorgeous bathroom with a huge shower, living room space for lifestyle shots or can accommodate an open space, and there’s also the empty studio space where you can have a plain wall for some negative space or you have the choice of working with a variety of backdrops. And of course the studio is extremely well equipped with lighting for whatever you’re after!

Kevin is a dream studio host as he was was more than happy to help out with lighting, hold reflectors if necessary, give advice, he’s got some excellent coffee and tea brewing skills also, and he’s great at putting models at ease. I really want it to be said for any new models or ones touring that they know that this is a safe environment where you will be looked after, made to feel welcomed and comfortable at all times, and that can be said for any time you work with Kevin also!

Absolutely fabulous day, with a great bunch of photographers throughout the day, and it was soooo lovely to get to work with Kevin and Richard to kick start the day off, already seen some awesome edits coming from the day and can not wait to see more :)

Ahhh soooo good to work with Richard again, but this time on a duo studio day at Yorkphoto Studio with my co star William Newton.

Richard, and studio owner Kevin teamed up to kick start the studio day for some erotic and sensual sets. We worked through a variety of different looks from fashion, fashion nude, lingerie, and of course art nude together.

I love how enthusiastic, eccentric, and fun Richard is to work with, very productive, professional, has fantastic ideas, he’s chatty, and easy to work with, all round making for a perfect shoot, and we must be doing something right as we got an FPI for one of the sets :)

This was my second time at YorkPhotoStudio and I just adore this studio.

The space has so many different back drops and lighting as well as how beautiful the natural light fills each room. The model room is a dream come true with so many outfits, shoes, wigs and accessories. I loved being able to experiment.

Kevin is an awesome man, who looks after his models and really knows how to run a studio. I was looked after from the minute I arrived to the minute I left. His pre comms are always exceptional.

During my time there we got to shoot together. These two hour slots were originally Ian Webb’s who sadly passed away and it only seemed right that Kevin took those two hours. We had some ideas passed on to us from Ian’s wife that he had in a folder and we worked with those and a few of our own. During our time shooting we chatted, laughed and had a lovely time together. I loved working with Kevin and I would love to work with him again. I would highly recommend him and the studio in a heartbeat. Thanks Kevin, you are a star!

Ok so where do I even start with York Photo Studio!...

First thing to note is the studio has been around for about as long as an old girl like myself but I have never, until this weekend, been before! Which, now after this weekend I can honestly say is madness!...

Kevin is absolutely fabulous, throughout our booking, which we made last year, comms were on point, he gave me details, inspiration and even picked me up from the station and offered me a place to stay!...

Right from the get go he was relaxed, chatty and friendly! I felt more like I was catching up with a friend!

Nothing was too much trouble whilst I was there... he even kept up with my furious tea drinking!!...

The weekend itself was an absolute delight and success, it was full of creative bookings and just genuinely lovely photographers, which I think is a real testament to Kevin & the studio.

The facilities for photographers are brilliant, studio setup with lighting galore, beautiful boudoir set, outdoor space and a stunning area for natural light, so much variety. Also with the added bonus of Kevin being there to help out as much as needed, he's very knowledgeable and more than happy to spend as much time or as little time with the photographer as needed!...

For me as a model I couldn't have asked for anything better, warm when it needs to be, amazing space for me to faff around in, mirrors, make-up lighting and a wonderful wardrobe that I'm rather jealous of!... There was nothing I needed to ask for because it was already there!...

Most importantly for me the whole place is just relaxed and creative!... What a fabulous studio, what a fabulous bunch of photographers who attended and what a fabulous studio owner, very genuine, a lovely person and an extremely talented photographer!...

I highly recommend the studio to others!.. You will be comfortable, well looked after and be seeing some absolutely amazing images from your time there!...

Thank you Kevin! I will certainly be back after all this time!

Facet Fotos

Had a morning 1 hour shoot at the studio with Arabella Langford. Kevin, the Studio owner is easy going, friendly and very helpful. I particularly appreciated Kevin's advice on setting the studio lights , as I am inexperienced with this. The whole shoot went well and I am delighted with the results. The studio is well equipped and has a variey of rooms and so the options available are plentiful. Thanks again Kevin for this morning . I will definately be booking again.

A Shot in the Dark

I keep coming back to this studio because it's just my absolute

favourite studio!

The studio is really well equipped with bits you can move around and different areas to shoot it. In just two hours I was so able to do so many different sets because of this, you'd never know it was all on the same day!

A great amount of lights and modifiers too, absolutely perfect!

It's also always a great temperature, with a kitchen to make drinks and a separate place for models to change.

Kevin is an absolutely incredible host, so full of knowledge and nothing is too much trouble for him. He gives as little or as much help is needed, which is fantastic because I'm terrified of moving other people's lights!

I can't sing this places praise enough! Would 100% recommend.

I worked with Kevin for the first time ever a few weeks ago & I can honestly say he is one of the loveliest people you could ever work with!

Not only is he lovely, he has an amazing eye for photography & I could tell how much time & dedication he took into the images we produced together when I received my final edits! If you haven’t ever worked with him before, I would highly recommend you get booking! You will NOT be disappointed!

Everytime I come back I feel welcomed, it’s a space to be creative and weird and comfortable. Endless cups of tea, never out of ideas and he really looks after me. Double whammy! I got to work in this lovely studio twice this week!

And it is just that, a lovely studio place. Fab little studio and kitchen when you first step in, Lighting set up available, they have what you need. Great natural light pouring in from the back into a good open space with plenty of nooks and crannies to shoot in. They don't have the 'tacky' feel with decorative items, feels legit, which of course helps your images too. A bedroom space with again nice furniture and great lighting and the bathroom and changing room are spot on!

And then to top it all off, I got to meet Lyndon who helps run the place, who was super friendly and accommodating! Winner :)

Would be back again to shoot for sure!

I had an amazing opportunity to model the Knight In Shining Armour for York Photo Studio, the studio has got everything you should need and then some. Very professional and yet great to talk to and are happy to help. Hope to work with York Photo Studio again in the future.

I had a fabulous first studio day at YorkPhotoStudio at the beginning of March. Pre communications were super easy and owner Kevin helped me plan a sold out studio day.

The studio itself is lovely with a beautiful changing room and wardrobe for the models to make use of and several warm shooting areas equipped with lighting and even natural light.

Kevin was very hospitable and helpful throughout the day. I even got a chance to shoot some portraits with him one to one. Loved the images I saw back of camera. I would highly recommend this studio to any creative. Hopefully I will be back in the near future :)

Walked into this studio meet Kevin the owner, he happily showed me around the studio, asked if I was familiar with studio lights, showed me how to use them All 👍.

As I was shown around the studio I'm thinking nice,wow, wow,wow. The studio was nice and warm has all the lights and modefiers,backgrounds, you'll need.

Kevin made sure my first set was up and running, and left me and my model to ourshoot, there was phone number to ring if you need assistance, Kevin only has to come down the stairs.

Lovely studio it's a shame I live so far away.

Worked with @emilyhamilton at her studio day at York Photo Studio this morning. My first shoot in over 15 months.

Kevin (the owner) was attentive, without being overbearing. He was easily on hand to help set lighting and handy with making brews which was much appreciated as I'm slightly lurgy stricken at the moment.

The studio itself is a converted basement apartment on the outskirts of York which offers a great mix of studio, bedroom, living room natural light and an enclosed private rear courtyard garden area (not used today as it was 0 degrees outside!).

Lots of Bowens gear and modifiers - massive Lastolite Softbox in a bedroom for faked natural light.

All of it in near new condition. Lots of options for shooting that we barely scratched the surface of in the 2 hours we had.

All in all a quality resource for peripatetic photographers in need of a place to shoot.

Look forward to shooting there again at some point in the future.

Yesterday I had a shoot with Jezebelle at York Photo Studio , Kevin ( the owner )was highly professional and extremely helpful with suggestions on how to get the best out of the studio . And extremely helpful in setting the lighting up .

Absolutely loved working at York Photo Studio for the day!

When arranging the model day the communication was excellent and I was fully informed of the set up on the day and what clothing and accessories to bring. With that said, the studio has an array of outfits, accessories and shoes to make use of.

The studio was lovely and warm and very comfortable! I was made to feel right at home from the minute I came through the front door!

Cannot thank York Photo Studio enough for such an excellent day!

Great, well equipped space with easy parking nearby, but what really makes it is Kevin who is the most patient and helpful of guys. Nothing was too much trouble as he moved furniture, changed seamless rolls, and helped with 5/6 lighting changes... and still made me a great cuppa too!
