This was my first time at this studio and I was thrilled to host a studio day there yesterday. When I arrived Kevin put me at ease straight away and showed me around. The space was just wonderful! So many options for places to shoot and what an awesome model changing area with props galore! Kevin really looks after the studio and also his models really well. I felt warm, safe and offered lots of tea. He is friendly, chatty and great to get on with. Nothing is too much trouble and is on hand during shooting to assist with lighting and setting up sets. I would highly recommend this studio and I really hope I get the chance to work here again. Thanks Kevin!

Camelot Photography

I had my first visit to YPS at the weekend to shoot Elle J and I have a feeling it won't be my last. The studio used to be a beautifully finished apartment in a previous life which means there is a huge amount of flexibility in where and how to shoot. There is also an abundance of lights, modifiers and props to use. Kevin is really friendly and will offer as much or as little help as you require.

Great place which I would highly recommend.

My main man kevin hosted something ive been itching to do for years, a fantasy themed location shoot via his Yorkphotostudios and it exceeded all my hopes.

My favourite studio, one of my very favourite photographers an amazing networker, Kevin reached a variety of photographers to market this idea and the images that were taken by all were absoloutely breathtaking, it meant a lot that the images that came out of this were amazing as I have waited a long time to put this forward and boy did he find them i couldnt have been happier

Kevins pre comms were absoloutely incredible, the problematic weather/storms may have made this shoot not happen at all but via group chats and messaging us all he ensured we were all updated regularly on changes and made attempts for alternate plans in event we had to bail on the location as freeziung tempereatures in the rain would not have resulted in functioning models! thankfully it went ahead but kevin exhausted every other means at his disposal to ensure everyone could shoot he is an absolute marvel

already in talks with kevin for more location and duo days, if youre after a studio I cannot recommend any above this one, until next time man :)

Will Newton and Kevin got together to organise a duo day on location and asked me if I would be interested in being involved, of course I leapt at the opportunity 😊

Everything was beautifully organised, location pre scouted and directions written out for everyone but Kevin was on the end of the phone when we got lost on the way.

Once everyone had arrived we got set up and decided on where we could start for our first set, Kevin was on hand all day to help with settings, hold reflectors, run around like a looney toon with smoke grenades, and also stepping in to model himself :P

Throughout the day Kevin was sure to look after us models by making sure we were warm enough, comfortable with our bare feet by sweeping the floors of glass and other debris, and making sure we got breaks.

Despite the cold and wind, it was such a fun day from start to finish, everyone left with unique and cool shots. Gotta say I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to do it all again :)

Noctis Artistry

I got to part-take in a studio day hosted by Kevin for Gingerface Model. Kevin is absolutely lovely, extremely accommodating (constant offer of tea and buscuits), friendly and a joy to work with. He set up incredible lighting for each photographer and created a wonderful creative environment for us all.

Would 100% recommend Kevin and his studio. I hope to be there again!

Had a shoot with the Nicole Rayner at YorkPhotoStudio which was really brilliant,its a wonderful studio with so many different settings to try that I will definitely be going for a return visit. Thank you to Kevin and Lyndon for all your help.

I have worked at the studio a few times now and really look forward to working there. Kevin the studio owner is one of the nicest people ever. Always popping in and out to offer a drink or a Jaffa cake! He was also nice enough to take me to and from the train station as well. As for the studio its clean and tidy and has everything you need as a model. A really comfortable place to work. I cant wait to come back again soon. Thanks a lot

Ahhh I can't big Kev up enough! What a delightful human! Really enjoyed the entire process from start to finish with Kev, from the initial concept discussions, going out to the middle of no where spot searching, the shoot, the editing the lot, Kev makes the entire process enjoyable and educational! A Shot in the Dark

I had a 1:1 shoot with Jezebelle at York Photo Studio on one of their studio days. Everything was well managed and ran on time. Kevin couldn't have been more helpful whilst I was there, he helped me move items so I could set up the scene I had in mind then gave me privacy to shoot, whilst being available whenever I needed it.

The studio is fantastically equipped and has fast become my favourite studio to book.

Iwfoto arranged for a shoot together along with Richsimages out in Flamborough which apparently incorporated the white cliffs of Dover :P everyone arrived on time and came super prepared with lots of kit, and even clothes (what do I need clothes for I ask of you?!) once settle in we got shooting which was most surprising as we usually spend 85% chatting, and just wow the light was absolute perfection even at high sun as the cliffs just bounce light beautifully and of course because Kevin is incredible :)

We got through so many different looks throughout the day such as boho, fashion, art nude, sheer, fashion nude, and even one of my own creations for some groovy fashion :D this location was so diverse, we may have only shot in two different places but just with a slight angle change I could have been anywhere!

As usual Kevin had me falling about with laughter (“hey look there’s a shag!” Or “Gollum’s going for a walk everybody!”) oh man I’m writing this whilst on the train and people are looking at me as I’m now snorting! Anyhoo, it was such a fantastic day out and I can’t wait to do it again and hopefully soon!

I worked with Kev on a group shoot, we met at his studio and what a beautiful studio it is.

You will not regret booking this location as a photographer or as a model. Even the parking area is stunning!

There is a fully stocked dressing room where any makeup artist would fall in love.

Kev was professional made me feel completely at ease and shot some absolutely incredible photos, he even made me a brew; what more could you ask for?

I would definitely work with Kev and York Photo Studio again.

Studio was sooo nice ! Modern, clean and simply beautiful! Also the fact it was warm is a big thing for sure :) I loved the fact that studio offers so many different possibilities and set ups and it’s really difficult to run out of ideas there.

Kevin is such an amazing host too! Well organised, professional, funny, friendly and soooo easy going! He’s also an amazing photographer so the whole experience was wonderful. Thank you for having me ! :)

Today I attended a group shoot at YorkPhotoStudio. Kevin, the studio owner and shoot organiser was friendly and knowledgeable both before the shoot and during the shoot, and he made me feel as if no trouble was too much.

The studio is is well equiped with lights and backgrounds, and Kevin helped set up the lights for the group. He did this in a professional and helpful way - explaining what his thoughts were behind each lighting setup, and ensuring we were all ok with it. During the shoot Kevin was on hand to tweak things, and happily adapted the lighting setup to each photographer's needs.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and I look forward to the next event at YorkPhotoStudio. Thank you for everything Kevin, you're a star, and highly recommended.

I attended a Body-painting/SFX workshop at the York Photo Studio and it was an amazing event. The studio is fully equipped with a range of lighting, backgrounds and set-ups. Kevin, who helped with the organisation and running of the event, is a very experienced and skilled photographer and certainly knows more than a thing or two about lighting set-ups! A really well organised and enjoyable event and I would certainly recommend both Kevin and the studio to anyone looking for a studio that brings with it, experience, expertise and professionalism. Thank-you to all involved on the day.

So I know I keep rattling on about how his is my favourite studio.... but it without a doubt absolutely is! This time I stayed from Friday night right through to Sunday for my SFX workshop with Dorota, both Kevin and his lovely wife took great care of us both and we stayed overnight with great comfort and a want for nothing! As always Kevin went above and beyond to look after me during both days makeing sure I was well rested and catered for. I was pleased to get to shoot together at the end of the last day with the golden girl look. Kevin brought ideas to the table with vast originality and I can promise that absolutely nobody from the day has imagesike the ones he captured. We had fabulous food sprayed props right down to the obligatory Jaffa cake! I’ve well and truely enjoyed every waking (and sleeping) moment that’s I’ve had across the two days. Thankyou yet again for having me Kevin. You’re a diamond! X

I shot with Kevin at his studio for the umpteenth time today - its always a genuine pleasure. We have worked together many times now on location, in his studio and other studios and I just wanted to make a few comments that are important to share. So, his own studio is one of the best environments you could work in, loads of up to date lighting kit, modifiers, back drops, plus... the space is also effectively a location in its own right with a full apartment set up where you can take advantage of the great natural light or studio lights that are available.

The main thing is though that Kevin is a fabulous host, very experienced with lighting knowledge and in his own right an excellent photographer, but, this is the bottom line, he freely shares all this knowledge and expertise with you. I always come away with real, portfolio quality images - if you are in Yorkshire / north of the country, book on to a shoot here or hire this great studio, you won't be disappointed, genuinely and most certainly, highly recommended by me.

Kevin had booked me with Ian for a half day shoot, the pre-comms were spot on and the ideas were great.

Working with Kevin was a dream we had a great laugh and produced some amazing images.

I was contacted by Kevin on behalf of another photographer who was looking for a model and wanted to try out the studio. From previous photographers I have worked with, I knew of Kevin's name and was more than confident in his approach for my assistance.

Kevin was more than welcoming, very well organised and clearly explained all the details. Unfortunately it was only a small amount of time we were able to work with each other but I felt the outcome was very successful on everyones behalf.

The studio has plenty of opportunity and versatility to create some amazing photos as seen above. I have no doubt in saying Kevin is an amazing photographer and knows what he is taking about! Not to add that he is very friendly, helpful and relaxed.

I would like to think there is potential in us working together soon!

Had another incredible shoot with Kevin on Friday 18th in a park nearby and at York photo studio! It was such a great shoot with such an amazing photographer! Kevin is so easy to get along with and I really enjoy my time spent, plus he is professional and reliable! I would 100% recommend him to anyone!
