I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kevin for the 2nd time this week. First time was at a shoot at their fabulous studio, this time round was when Kevin came along to photograph myself and Marie Jean Taylor at the beautiful Wortley Forge for a day's location shoot with a small group of photographers!

When on set, Kevin was incredibly funny, respectful and possitive, giving great direction with a strong understanding of photography and lighting, even when out on location in harsh lighting!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kevin and hope we join creative forces again soon!

I love working with Kevin, and I’m sure he’s sick of the sight of me by now haha! But we just had the most amazing day shooting at Wortley forge with the lovely Talli and Ian Webb and two other lovely photographers. Kevin let us have a sneak peek at the back of his camera and he captured plenty of incredible images and I can’t wait to see what he does with them! Kevin had always been very kind and polite with every shoot and this one was no exception. He both collected me and returned me to York station.

Had my first shoot at this studio, yesterday, and was really lucky that it was available at short notice.

That range and quality of sets, costumes and lighting is fantastic, and I had a great time.

Kevin is a great host and made sure that we were completely catered for, and felt completely at home.

Would thoroughly recommend to everyone.

I had a fantastic first shoot with Kevin at his studio in York. His studio is absolutely amazing, one of my favourite studios ever!! It was spacious and had different sets ranging from different backdrops, living room wother a gorgeous floor and boudoir etc! It had a gorgeous changing room with lots of outfits and props 😍 there was coffee too (yum)

Kevin picked me up from the bus stop and took me too the studio and we shot for 4 hours! It was an incredibly productive 4 hours and we got lots of awesome shots. He was fun and great to work with and I cannot wait to work with him again 😁😁

Honestly recommended Kevin and his studio strongly!!!!

Oh wow what a day together shooting with the ever epic Kevin at the gorgeous location that is Carlton Towers :)

Kevin was working alongside second shooter Richard Ben, and just as he always is, he was a star with being more than happy help with lighting, any setting up, or moving things about to make the set, or of course helping to photobomb my poses :P

Throughout the day, we worked through some beautiful vintage gowns that Kevin kindly brought and luckily fit like a glove, a bit of lingerie, and some ball gowns!

I just adore working Kevin, he’s so relaxed he might as well shoot lying down. If I have learnt anything from this particular shoot with Kevin it is that he’s not as normal as he seems... he has a lamp fetish! :P Running joke of the day was that we needed more and more lamps to add to each shot, it was so funny!

In all seriousness we got some truly beautiful shots that I’m so impressed and over the moon by, and we had a great day doing it :D

Thank you so much Kevin for brightening (with lamps!) my week, and I should hopefully see you soon :)

I worked with Kevin for the first time today and loved it. He booked me during my time in the area along with Ian Webb, and we shot at York Photo Studio. My reference is for both Kevin as a photographer and the studio too. :)

Kevin was ideal from the first communication – clear messages with clear direction. We organised everything efficiently and I knew exactly what to bring, how to look. A really friendly, kind chap, he met me at the station and took me to the studio. Studio is absolutely gorgeous – a converted flat so comfortable (proper bathroom, changing room), but also really stylish and high-end. Really hope I get to shoot there again soon!

Kevin is a wonderful photographer with strong ideas and good lighting to match. Professional and respectful at all times, he made me feel comfortable and I had a really good time. Highly recommended – both the studio and Kevin, and I hope to work with Kevin again in the future! Thank you Kevin!

So this I realise is probably the first reference I've left for York Photo Studio (my bad - see I'm down wit da kidz).....

Mr P I met I few years ago at a small group shoot at a WOW!!! location in Yorkshire (no longer available unless you have a couple of Million spare).....

At the time little did I know he had such a fabulous space in which much magic could be created.

And unlike in many in this industry he's happy to share the space with others to learn and develop their skills and talents in the photographic space.

So if you have the chance to shoot at YPS then please make sure you do, it's a great smaller venue in which a relaxed environment enables you get those wow moments every photographer enjoys creating.

Had a great Shoot at York Photo Studio. It was spotlessly clean & lovely & warm. Kevin set all the lights up for the photographer. He had a good range of backgrounds including some great natural light. I particularly liked the lottje alcoves in the main living room set, I’m sure there will be some fabulous photos from there. The changing room was separate with great lighting and a large separate very clean bathroom.

I’d love to go back in warmer months as the outside area with brick wall & steps would make a stunning set.

Kevin was my very first shoot which I've ever done. He was amazing, fun and down to earth, he made me feel at ease as I was so nervous ,he help to direct me, he was so friendly. I would definatly recommend and his studio was awsome too

What a superb studio! A superb range of props, backing options AND LIGHTING

No only is the studio equiped with everything that you could want, Kevin is a star, always willing to help with a word of advice, lighting set up or anything else you may need.

Totally recommended, nothing is too much trouble, well worth a visit!!!!

I recently worked at York Photo Studio for the first time on a shoot booked with a @Richsimages and @iwphoto. On my arrival, the photographers and Kevin were there to welcome me. I was made to feel very comfortable, and the studio was incredibly homely and clean. From standard studio backdrops to a beautiful lounge and boudoir as well as a very well equipped wardrobe and dressing room for models, I was very pleasantly suprised by what was behind the studio's modest and unassuming entrance!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 hour shoot there and hope to return again soon !

Cannot fault! Greatly recommended! 👌

A Shot in the Dark

York Photo Studio is a really nicely tucked away place, which is good for privacy!

It's a great place with several rooms you can shoot in giving you lots of variety.

Everything can be moved around too which I was very impressed with!

It also has some beautifully coloured back drops in the main area which I loved!

The selection of lighting was perfect and the kitchen area was really well equipped.

The best part about the studio though is Kevin. He's a photographer who is absolutely full of knowledge, should you need it he's happy to impart it but also let's you get on with everything too. I've never known a studio owner to be so helpful too! even on a group shoot he remained chilled out, always ready and available to sort new lighting set ups, and ready to get that kettle on! I was also really impressed with how considerate he was to the model, ensuring she was ok.

I can't recommend this studio enough and can't wait to come back on my own hopefully for the whole day!

Yet another fantastic event held at Kevin's studio! I really love coming to work here. Models are well looked after and kept warm throughout! We held a lighting workshop evening which was very successful and I'm really pleased with the outcome of the night. Fantastic atmosphere once again and as usual I was well catered for 😊🙌🏻 Kevin himself also took fantastic images of me. Thankyou for yet another wonderful event Kevin. X

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve visited the studio :)

My first time visiting the new set up and apartment shooting area.. as much as I loved the old shooting area with the big windows I have to say I love the new set even more! Lots of space, studio area, bedroom and living room.. an amazing dressing room with the most amazing wardrobe! So many clothes!

Even a kitchen with oven.. and most importantly a kettle for all that tea needed to keep us models fuled!

I’ve said time and time again but Kevin is one of the nicest guys in this industry, always happy to help and lovely as always.

- plus the studio was so clean which is great for someone who is OCD clean haha.

A lovely array of space in which to shoot, plenty of different sets, outside space and more than enough lighting kit.
