Scorpion

Use York photo studio for a shoot with Rosie Li and i am sure we will book again. It is a great studio with loads of options really worth a visit by any tog or model.

I had the pleasure of using York Photo Studio for my very first studio shoot with Scorpion - beautiful, comfortable spaces where one can easily do an expansive range of shots from fashion to art nude. In addition, there are nearby green spaces of forestry and a yoga studio free for use when classes are not occurring - on sunny days, the lighting there is particularly stunning. The dressing room is also gorgeous, including a Hollywood style mirror framed with lights and a fully equipped wardrobe and props available for use.

Kevin, the owner, was very easy going and prompt in terms of making sure the studio was ready for me despite being due to go on vacation on the day. Lyndon, (or 'Manchot Photography' on Purpleport) who showed me around, was very welcoming and made sure we were well supplied with tea and relaxing jazz, and generally geared to go for the shoot.

Models who are local to York or North Yorkshire in general - do not miss out this gem of a place. The price is incredibly reasonable, especially if you are sharing the costs and you literally have full access to a brilliantly equipped and opportunities-rich studio as well as being in great, professional hands. The only shortcoming was running out of time and feeling like the surface has been barely scratched in terms of making the most of the place.

I will definitely be back for future projects and I cannot wait! Much gratitude here for what was a wonderful introduction to studio shooting.

Last months shoot was just one of those days that truly makes me love my job! :D

The incredible Kevin was one of my crazy photographers for the day at my War and Peace Location!

Second model the beautiful Illy (Black Beauty), our star organiser Ian (Iwfoto), Helen (Helsw) and Richard (Richsimages), surprise model for the day Will (William Newton) and finally Ian had arranged an insane designer to custom make two costumes that fit wonderfully for our post apocalyptic shoot :)

Yay working with the wonderuss Kevin who was our Professional Idiot for the day and my God he's good at it! :P

By Professional Idiot I do off course mean, professional run around with smoke bombs, helper of shots, bringer of equipment, and of course fantastic photographer :)

I got to work with Kevin and Helen together later in the morning for some art nudes and little dancing tree nymph shots, all whist we spoke in a Somerset accent of course, as we don't do just regular stuff! We got some super beautiful shots whilst Helen assisted in holding my dress and creating a wind effect :D

Kevin brought with him several excellent smoke bombs which he ran around with whilst Helen shot and vice versa, and smoke really helped make the shots!

Halfway through the shoot we all regrouped for some duo shots of Illy and I outside of a helicopter for our post apocalyptic look wither our designer ripped clothing, and again Kevin was a real sport helping others getting the smoke right and running around with the smoke. And I have to say his shots on the back of the camera looked amazing and in the last few days he's been drip feeding us with the edited shots and I'm blown away by them all! :D

It's all been said before, but it will be said again that Kevin is one of the best people or photographers you could ever hope to know! Wonderful shots, always keeps the positivity going, and he will do anything to get that shot of the day :)

So bloody brilliant working with Kevin, last Thursday I shot with him and Helen (Helsw), they're always an awesome team :) we were shooting at one of Jan Cottrell's unusual locations where we were shooting on some fantastic aircrafts. :)

Kevin arrived on time despite his long journey to the location, and he brought along loads of equipment, he's always ready for anything no matter what a location throws at you! He and Helen bounced ideas off of each other, and sorted out some great lighting set ups, we got through a few different locations and outfits from top end Hollywood pin up glam, to casual night out looks.

At the start of the day the light was a bit harsh so we shot indoors with a cool helicopter where Kevin got super funky with his dept of field, and bless he also made a fantastic reflector holder and speed lite stand on a few occasions, once outside things really began to take off (no pun intended!) all the creativity started pouring out and with some help from the staff we got to have some fun on the wings :D

Just as on all of our shoots together Kevin was upbeat, cracking jokes, patient, filled with ideas and super fun, he's one of the best people I've had the pleasure of working with without a doubt!

So excited to see the images from this shoot as I know we got some top shots, and I can't wait for our next shoot or perhaps shoots! As we always have ideas and events to play with.

I just had an amazing moody shoot with Kevin and another model, Benjamin.

The idea was a grungy, mostly black and white shoot, with cigarettes, coffee cups etc..

As this was a my idea for a Tf, I was quite worried that we couldn't represent what I had in mind properly...well... I need to say that the pictures were really better than the ones I've seen online! We couldn't choose a better photographer. The place was perfect too, outside, inside, everything was cool with nice backgrounds, sofas, plants etc.

Kevin is the kind of person that can really make you feel comfortable, offering you drinks and he's really friendly as well and especially a professional photographer.

I really enjoyed the shoot a lot and I couldn't be more happy with the choice I made to choose him for my idea.

I hope to work with him again soon and I highly recommend him to all models who needs to improve their portfolios with beautiful photos.

Kevin was a part of an all day group shoot of sorts along with Helen (helsw) and Lyndon (Manchot), at Graham Marshall's studio in Darlington.

New studio, three shooters, so did we go for an easy shoot? Hell no we went for a milk shoot, I've been so excited for finally doing one of these!

Pre comms excellent, Kevin arrived early to pick me up from the station, and put up with me snoring in the back of the car on our way to the studio, this must have been one of the most chilled (no pun intended) shoots I've done this year, the whole day was super laid back, lots of time to set up, drink coffee, catch up and gossip, and then the milk throwing began!

Nothing phases dear ole Kev here, so many laughs were had during the shoot as well as the occasional squeak and squeal from me of course, we got some great shots and fantastic bloopers as well :)

Love working with Kevin as it's always a fun day no matter what we're shooting, and he's the most lovely person I've had the pleasure of shooting with :)

So wonderful getting to work with Kevin again, I've never met someone so genuinely kind, thoughtful, and just brilliant! Always great pre comms, turns up early with a huge box props, shoes, clothes, jewellery, and much more, it seriously puts some models to shame :)

We seriously challenged each other with new and unusual sets, outfits, make up changes, lighting changes, and having a second shooter (the wonderful Ian of Iwfoto).

So we got through fashion, lingerie, body stockings, sheer, implied, fashion nude, art nudes, little dance, topless, wigs, tattoos, dangly jewellery, and and a few of my own creations!

Two shooters, 7 sets, in just 8 hours, how the heck did we manage that?!

Kevin works extremely quickly, great imagination, knows his lighting, and even better knows what poses work for the models figure (this is always appreciated), and he made sure I was comfortable, happy, and warm throughout the shoot.

Such a fantastic day, so obviously I'm looking forward to our next one in the next week hehe!

Highly, highly recommended :D

Natural Light Spaces

Kevin contacted us last minute after he and his group were let down by their venue.

We were happy to be able to hep out and step in at the last minute. The group turned up and were well prepped for the day.

Hours of crazy shooting across the 3 studio spaces we were able to make available.

It was a pleasure to have Kevin in and we look forward to him returning in the future :)

Another wonderful, interesting shoot. Had a fabulous time at the Natural light studio on a group shoot. I really enjoyed styling at this new location and working with Kevin was such a fun day. Can't recommend Kevin enough and I look forward to working again in the not too distant future with him.

Kevin booked me for a group shoot that he organised in Northampton, this was my first time working with him.

Pre comms were spot on and I was given every single detail well in advance.

Kevin was professional, friendly and creative. He gave good direction and was also happy for me to pose freely.

Kevin approached me about a project he had in mind with regards to a studio group shoot.

After abit of a stumble we finally got over the line and all set for the events to come on the Tuesday

What a pleasure it was to work for and with this gentleman on a extremely benefiting studio group shoot.

I had a great time. Kevin is very welcoming and always courteous of the models asking if i was ok as well as making every one feel comfortable with the ideas we had coming.

He created a plan for the day with schedules and groups so no one was left without. well done on that sir

He is also a great photographer and will surely have some really great shots that i participated in on solo and duo work with him. Has a confidence in suggesting his ideas to you by describing his pose position as well as allowing you to do your own thing.

I was lucky enough to host a group shoot at York Photo Studio - the first shoot of a sold out 4 part series!

As per, Kevin was very attentive and provided everything needed! The studio is a great space and has all the lighting you could need.

Kevin also attended the workshop and is always good fun to have as he always has an upbeat attitude and brings plenty of jokes! He works quickly and produces some wonderful images! I'm really glad to have Kevin on the other elements shoots as I enjoy working with him very much! Highly recommended from me!

I had my fifth shoot at York Photo Studio yesterday at an event with Kevin. I have always found the studio to be clean, comfortable, spacious, very well equipped and have numerous props available.

Kevin (the owner) is a great guy to communicate and work with, he has lots of ideas and experience.

My sessions at the studio have alwas been enjoyable and I am looking forward to my next one whenever that may be.

Had a really wonderful shoot with Kevin on Saturday arranged last minute at Opus Photografix in Bradford. An absolute pleasure to work with, we had lots of fun a laugh. Kevin had some outfits for me to wear which were great and I really enjoyed wearing them. Pre shoot comms were great. Kevin is one of those people who I can just talk to and forgot to shoot with - which isn't a bad thing! He was happy to let me pose myself unless he had a specific concept, and we were bouncing around ideas left, right and centre. I'd happily work with him again at the drop of a hat, and highly recommend him.
