The rain poured down and the wind blew cold that evening by the glacier lagoon, Jökulsárlón, Iceland. There was still some tourists, but not so many because of the bad weather. My model for the week, the very talented Jóhannsdóttir offered to pose for a quick shoot in her white dress. We planned for 60 seconds on the edge of the plateau overlooking the lagoon with the icebergs as an amazing backdrop. "Click, click, click". After a few frames she changed her mind; "I will go down to the water!" We both rushed down the slope while tourists looked petrified at us without expression in their faces that by the way hardly could be seen anyway, almost fully covered in their rain clothes. When I turned my head to Jóhannsdóttir, she was already wading in the ice water. In rain. In wind. "Click, click, click", this can't go on for long, I rather be quick, I thought. "I've got the pictures" I shouted, "let's go to the car!". "I will sit down in the water!", she answered. "Click, click, click", ... she was still there. Concentration. Focus. Framing. Exposure. I must not fail now. I must get it right. "Click, click, click", ... she was still in the water. "I've got the pictures" I shouted, "let's go to the car!". "I will lay down in the water!", she declared. "Click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click". "let's go to the car!". We did. She was totally soaked. Cold. Change clothes. Difficult. Cramped. I was dry and warm under my protective rain clothes and... I felt... I felt... it was unfair.

I am totally amazed by how dedicated this model is to do her absolutely best for the art, how passionate this Icelandic star is about making amazing images. It is such a gift to have created together with her, and I am so grateful for the precious moments we shared.
