References for South House Retreat

Sinopa Rin

South House is rapidly becoming one of my favourite locations to shoot from and it's not hard to see why; Tracy and Martin are two of the nicest hosts you could wish for, the house is always warm and every room is a photographer's dream! This weekend I shared the house with 8 other creatives and you wouldn't even know - there was plenty of room for everyone, and some to spare. I'm sure it'll be returning very soon and cannot recommend this amazing venue more highly!

Spent the morning working with Sinopa Rin and Jezebelle at South House Retreat. Invited by Sinopa - 'thought it'd suit you to shoot here' she said. I can honestly can say that I was not disappointed.

The house has a good number of well appointed, clean and spacious rooms. Plenty of space to work - both with longer lenses and lights if needed. I personally tried to stick with he natural light pouring in - which I imagine would be awesome had it not been so overcast / raining during my time there. Enough shooting spaces that the three groups working today could work without getting in each others way.

Martin and Tracy great hosts, left the shoots to get on, whilst making sure that everyone was comfortable and made sure we had all we needed.

I also took advantage of an overnight stay so as to mitigate a long early morning drive prior to the shoot - can also recommend the B&B aspect of the retreat, comfortable, quiet and great food.

Can definitely see myself returning, a pity about the distance, but with the accommodation option makes it a very viable option. Besides - there are rooms we didn't use - and the garden space.

Wholeheartedly recommended.

Words fail me right now!

I had my first visit to south house retreat yesterday and what a fantastic place. The place itself is stunning with so many shooting opportunities throughout but what really made it so amazing was the hosts! Tracy and Martin I don’t know how you do it!! From start to finish you were amazing, letting us into your home then treating us like royalty. Cooking for us, making cuppas throughout the day and being so up beat throughout! I have not come across hospitality like this from a hotel let alone a home studio! The house and grounds are impeccable, warm throughout the house and endless places to create stunning images. I will be telling everyone about this place and you guys! I can’t wait to return in a couple weeks to do it all again!

It's difficult to recommend South House Retreat any more highly. I have worked there a number of times now and every experience has been exceptional on every occasion. This is now by some distance my favourite place to shoot.

Tracey and Martin do everything they can to make your day fun and relaxing, they contribute greatly to the amazing atmosphere. It really is a "must do" location. A little tip - if and when you shoot at South House DO NOT miss out on having lunch there. Trust me you will be glad you did :)

Fabulous location to shoot at, always a warm welcome from Tracey and Martin. Rooms are pristine, generously sized and all with good light. I feel lucky to have such an incredible location local to me. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique location like this.

Sometimes you come across a location that is just so amazing that you want to keep it to yourself, but that would be unfair to South House Retreat and to the wonderful owners Tracey & Martin.

I have spent three days there over the last month to so, and I haven't come anywhere near exploring all of its possibilities yet. I have already booked another two days next month. The house and grounds are just fabulous. Every room is gorgeous, there is great natural light everywhere. The rooms are all different, and they are all perfect for photography. All this comes at a cost that is similar to what you would pay for a normal studio environment.

Tracey is a fabulous cook and will happily provide a gorgeous lunch for a small additional cost. The whole experience is brilliant and great value. I can't recommend this beautiful location highly enough.

I cannot recommend South House Retreat enough.

The rooms are beautiful, and the owners are so accommodating.

We used 3 different rooms which were all so different and produced some incredible shots.

Highly recommended for shoots, courses or a stay!

I was recently at a group shoot at this venue and was incredibly impressed. Not only is it a lovely location but also the hosts are lovely too. Rooms are clean and spacious with fab decor and a tasty lunch was provided which was well received by all.

I wouldn't hesitate to work herw again and highly recommend it to others

Had a group shoot here on Sunday and simply put South House Retreat is a great place to shoot. Each room is different and has it's own character and charm, all finished to a high standard.

Tracey and Martin were lovely hosts, so warm and friendly, could not ask for more.

Really look forward to shooting here again.

I have just spent two days at South House Retreat with Sinopa Rin and Jezebelle. I won't lie, I had heard good things about the venue and the images of the house are lovely. I expected high standards, but my expectations were surpassed in every way.

Firstly, the owners, Tracy and Martin are just wonderful. They are both artists in their own right, and it shows. They are so welcoming, after 30 mins you would think that you had known them for years. Tracy is a wonderful cook and feed us a beautiful lunch each day. There was even freshly baked bread and cake!! Fabulous.

The house has been beautifully furnished and decorated, the natural light throughout is gorgeous. Tracy has modelled herself so they have decorated with photography in mind. The house has a wonderfully calming and peaceful aura, doubtless in no small measure as a result of Martin and Tracy's friendly and welcoming nature.

Beautiful people, beautiful environment - The fact that I have already booked the house for another shoot before I left tells you that I couldn't recommend South House Retreat (an Tracy and Martin) any more highly. (Y)

Ghost Light Photography

I had a hugely enjoyable first visit to this extraordinary shoot location. So many settings are available, both indoors and in the gardens as well. Working there with Sinopa Rin and Jezebelle, we had tremendous fun exploring the spaces and making the most of the fantastic natural light.

A real bonus was having such welcoming hosts to cater for our needs and to point out some of the less obvious opportunities the house and grounds offer.

This location has so much to give photographers and models. I hope to be back soon. Highly recommended.

Sinopa Rin

I have just returned home from a two-day duo event at South House with Jezebelle. I spoke to Tracy a lot in pre-comms and her messages were always prompt, clear and professional which made organising the event so much easier! On the first day we were welcomed with a warm smile and plenty of tea, and neither waned throughout our time there. Tracy and her husband Martin are both absolutely lovely; laid-back, creative, friendly, interesting and down-to-earth. The house itself is superb and perfect for model photography - every room is large enough to shoot full length with room to spare, beautifully decorated in different colours and styles, clean and warm. We were served stunning food (including fresh-baked cake!) and nothing was too much trouble. I absolutely cannot recommend this stunning location and its wonderful owners any more highly, and I'm greatly looking forward to returning in January.

Anyway this is a brilliant place to shoot. So much variety in a period house, well furnished, thoughtful layout, great windows, lovely light. And super helpful and understanding proprietors. And great value too. You must try it so, of course, it's highly recommended.

I was invited to shoot here by a lovely photographer I know. I was very grateful to shoot in such a stunning house! High standard throughout and plenty of light. We only had a short time here, I would love to go back and shoot again. Tracy was lovely to meet too.

I had my first shoot at this location yesterday, and what a absolutely brilliant location it is. All of the rooms were decorated to a very high standard, with each one different, so the choice was excellent. There was plenty of room, light, and props to use. We were given a tour on our arrival, and then left to our own devices, to do the shoot. The proprietors were always on hand to ask for assistance if required. All in All I have to say what a beautiful place to spend 3 hours in for a shoot.

The thing that struck me when I arrived at South House is how much choice there was available in the places we could shoot. The rooms are all decorated in a minimalist style which is ideal for photography as there is hardly any clutter to move out of the way. In the end we only used three of the rooms but there were plenty more to use. We found this venue very good. After our arrival and tour we were left to our own devices and the owners were on hand to answer questions when needed. I would highly recommend this place.

Wow - what an awesome shoot location! Tracey and Martin are spectacular hosts, super friendly and chatty and the food was delicious (lunch and also cake!). Not only are there fantastic rooms all set up around the house which are all shoot ready, but there are gorgeous grounds all around the house, not to mention the house itself as an amazing backdrop.

Loved working at South House Retreat and I would definitely recommend to anyone.
