Ghost Light Photography

Hi. Thanks for visiting my page.

In 2013 I rediscovered the joys of "proper" photography after years in the wilderness of do everything compacts and smartphones that are smarter than me. Old enough to remember the days when film meant you had to think about the images you wanted to take but sensible enough to appreciate the experimentation that digital photography allows, I am looking to create pleasing images (primarily for my own enjoyment) and to develop my skills. For the present I am enjoying the rediscovery of a love of photography and the challenge of working with a model. 

My skills are developing with each shoot and I am really enjoying the interaction and collaborative process of working with a model to create beautiful images (at least to my eye, but hopefully to others as well)

My foremost concern for my photography is that it be fun for everyone involved.

I hope that the models I shoot will enjoy working with me and that they will want to work with me again. There are no grand plans besides spending some time with interesting people, doing something for no other reason than to collaborate and get a great end result.

One thing I particularly like is shooting with natural light but the challenge and control of using different lights and modifiers in a studio setting is something I enjoy developing. I have had great fun just trying something different with the models I have been lucky enough to shoot.

p.s. just a quick note on the name - I do not photograph ghosts, rather this is a theatrical term for a light that is left on so that you can find your way when the rest of the theatre is dark.
