References for South House Retreat

A stunning shoot today with Lilew at The South House Retreat, we were both made very welcome by Tracy and Martin, nothing was to much trouble.

We were shown around, advised of rooms we were not able to use, which were only a couple of private rooms and then left to our own devices.

4 hours just isn't enough to make good use of the opportunities this location provides, so I'll be back.

The location along with Tracy and Martin come Highly recommended

I had my second shoot at the beautiful south house this week - this place is perfect, it a treasure trove of fantastic light and wonderful spaces to shoot, with the piddle running along the bottom of the garden is an even bigger bonus.

Tracy and Martin are wonderful hosts and really cannot do enough for you. You are welcomed as soon as you arrive and made to feel at home. The decor throughout the house has really been thought out by Tracy and Martin and boy have they done a fab job.

I will definitely be back to shoot again. An absolutely delightful day, venue and hosts!

First time at South House Retreat shooting with roseofibis and warmly welcomed by Tracy and Martin! So accommodating giving us free run of their marvellous house and garden providing so many shoot opportunities with the different decor and arrangements in the many rooms. The gardens with river Piddle running through and footbridge over added another dimension. We were really pleased with the freedom and ability to do our thing uninterrupted that we spent much longer than anticipated and came away with images that delighted us. Thank you!

South House is one of my absolute favourite venues! I had the pleasure of returning for a full day on Friday and, as always, received a warm welcome from the hosts. Tracey, despite being unwell, laid on a delicious lunch (with cake and ice-cream!) and was very welcoming and helpful. The house itself is a treasure trove of natural light, character features and vibrant colour - add to this the stunning gardens and shabby chic stables and you could easily shoot here for days and not run out of ideas! If you haven't visited South House yet, you will not be disappointed. I look forward to returning again soon.

I had a great day shooting at SHR last week during a mini tour in the area.

From the moment I arrived I was well looked after by Tracey and Martin (and Bentley!) There were guests staying while I was there but Tracey explained clearly which rooms were OK to use and what time they would be back so it wasn't a problem. :)

The shooting space is great. Lots of natural light, rooms to use, props to pose on, gardens to run about in and a stream too! Mustn't forget the hot tub!

I really enjoyed the day there, the delicious lunch provided too and I really hope to return again one day! Thank you :)

A truly fabulous location at which to shoot with wonderful hosts in Tracey and Martin. All manner of rooms in which to shoot, two separate gardens, character walls and gates, a stream, stables (undergoing renovation), a large field and a hot tub! Most of the rooms have great natural light and the possibilities are limitless.

Outstanding and most definitely highly recommended.

Fourth or fifth time now at South House and as always it's absolutely fantastic. Tracy and Martin are just perfect hosts and the house is beautiful throughout. Do yourself a favour and make the trip, it's well worth it and you will not be dissapointed.

I'd been wanting to shoot at this absolutely amazing location for months now. Finally got the chance and was not dissapointed. It's just perfect! There are so many rooms that are each presented in such a beautiful way you'd be lucky to even shoot in one! Contrast is the key to South House Retreat. One moment it's a beautiful blue room with elegant shutters and period features, then it's a cosy twin room with the best natural light you will ever find. Ever!

What I wasn't prepared for was just how lovely Tracy and Martin are. You won't want to stop chatting to get on with your shoot! Charming hosts who were really hospitable. Thank you both for such a wonderful introduction to what I'm sure will be a regular haunt for a whole host of creatives. Thank you for making this such a perfect location to shoot it. I can't wait to see you soon. :D

Had the pleasure of my first shoot at South House Retreat and had a great time. tracy and Martin made me very welcome and were both great company and very helpful. I stayed overnight in a lovely large room and had some great meals.

I got some great images inside the house and in the gardens.

I am really looking forward to working here again and can recommend it to other photograhers.

I modelled at this location with two photographers and wow! Lovely hosts who really pay attention to detail. It certainly has the woman's touch that you would look for. Perfectly decorated rooms that all have a different theme to them which means there is something for everyone's taste. I love that some of the older features such as the outside gate have been left alone because they added character to some of the images. Stunning outside space too. You couldn't ask for more! I can't wait to return! 100% recommended for business or pleasure :)

Just had my 3rd shoot at this fabulous location and it definitley wont be my last. The property is superb, very spacious with loads of natural light. It is also superbly decorated and furnished and Tracey and Martin are the perfect hosts everything about this place is 10 out of 10 for me

I’ve now enjoyed a couple of shoots at South House Retreat. Great rooms to work in and lots of natural light. Spoilt for choice over lounges, hall, bedrooms, bathrooms settings. Tracy and Martin are always willing to advise and/or arrange anything and do a good lunch if needed. Recommended studio facilities both indoor and out.

What a lovely house. And what lovely people!

Yesterday Melany and I worked at South House Retreat. As for the house itself, it's beautiful, it's spotless, and with some rooms facing north and some facing south there was a very interesting mix of lighting conditions from one part of the house to another.

We were made ever so welcome by the owners, Tracey and Martin (and let's not forget Bentley the Spaniel!) They're so laid back about everything and they just let us get on with things. Yes - lovely people. Thank you for a memorable day and for making such a good, productive shoot possible.

Recommended? Well - let's put it like this... I'm already looking at the calendar to see how soon I can get back there for another shoot.

I don't know where to start! I had such a wonderful day today shooting with the incredible Orson Carter at South House Retreat. We had a very warm welcome from Tracy, quickly followed by a cup of coffee and a look around the house. It was a sunny day and we were free to shoot in any of the rooms in the house - the trouble was where to start? The house and its rooms and ground are so photogenic it was tricky to fit in all that we wanted to do in 5 hours!

Tracy are Martin are excellent hosts and made us feel really home and I can't thank them enough for allowing us to use their home to shoot - we will definitely be back as the house and it's ground as so much potential for creating beautiful, artistic images.

The natural light in this place is amazing and the rooms are incredibly spacious. Tracy and Martin have done out each of the rooms beautifully and there are lots (and lots!) of stunning pieces of furniture and props to use.

In short, I very highly recommend shooting at South House Retreat and can wait to come back! :)

Yesterday i had my second shoot at South house and the hosting skills were just as awesome as the first. I know i said this before but you will not get better than here! Martin was working on this occasion but Tracy ran around after us and cooked us the most delicious meal! She is so social and welcoming and this is what makes me want to come back time and time again, not to mention the house! Wow, i had a 4 hour shoot with Somersetman and we shot in so many different areas but still didnt cover them all....Gives us a good reason to come back again ;-)

Martin and Tracy, your hard efforts do not go unnoticed and thank you again for welcoming us in to your home to shoot!

What a cracking location

both hubby and I were really pleased to be able to use this beautiful location.

we had a mini group shout with missy divine (Jules) and Rawing Waves (Steve) whilst we had a mini break. Yu have such great natural light and some stunning rooms that give you some really beautiful images.

As for catering whilst we were there - wow - recently found out that I have loads of intolerances and Tracy worked her catering magic around every one.

Just cannot fault the hospitality of this lovely couple (Tracy and Martin) plus thanks to Bentley I was able to get my spaniel fix whilst away from our Sprocker Totti.

WONDERFUL - WONDERFUL - WONDERFUL

The above sums up South House perfectly.

My wife, (JJ Phoenix), and I stayed here for 2 nights, and had an all day group shoot organised.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, all very differently, to allow for shooting and very comfortable accomodation. There are so many great places & rooms to shoot in and the natural light possibilities are endless.

Our hosts Tracy and Martin were so friendly and accomodating from start to finish, and we could not ask for more!

Perfect venue with great hosts and most definitely be returning guests and creatives!!

Comes VERY highly recommended by both myself and the wife!

I spent the afternoon shooting here with Gjp and it is such a stunning location. The rooms are beautifully decorated, all totally differently, to allow for shooting and comfortable accomodation. There is a lot of natural light and wonderful outside space too.

Our host was Tracy and she was so friendly and accomodating from start to finish.

Highly recommended and I hope I get to shoot here again soon.

I recently shot at South House Retreat with Jezebelle on her weekend in residence.

I had a very warm welcome from hosts Tracy & Martin and was extremely impressed with the house itself. A great variety of rooms, all with their own unique character and plenty of natural light made this a great place to shoot.
