Alan is an excellent photographer with a fantastic portfolio. He gives very clear guidance and sets a high standard for his compositions. Alan likes to thoroughly discuss his plan at the beginning of the shoot so that the model is very clear on what to expect. The output is brilliant. recommended

I had a fantastic shoot with Alan during one of my my studio days at inspire studios!

Precomms were perfect and he sent me a nice moodboard before the shoot.

He arrived on time full of props (and cookies!), and we shot very beautiful images with different set ups. Very friendly and professional, he always assure to put at ease the model and explain what kind of project he has in mind, pointing out the fact that it’s a collaboration , so there’s room to new ideas and model’s interpretation.

I really enjoyed working with him and hopefully we’ll work again together in the future!

Wheyy, I'm pleased to say I had my first shoot with Alan, pre comms and planning was easy, we also spoke on the phone almost as an ice breaker before we then shot a good half day at inspire studios. Alan was there ready and waiting on time and had brought some mood board images just to help me understand further the types of poses he was after.. I'd admired Alan's work and appreciated his styles so were certainly looking forward to shooting with him and he didn't disappoint! Alan had all the kit needed and was always happy to hear my input or welcomed my opinion- which is always a good sign. We covered a good range of styles and tried never to fixate on one idea or style for too long (which was good because symmetry and structural work can take ages if you allow it), love his attention to detail. The time flew and I also saw a more serious, passionate side to Alan as he got more into the shoot and the shapes which was great to see.. conversation flowed well and he always ensured I was comfortable. Images shared on BOC as we went and the ones his kindly sent me so far are awesome. I feel we have loads more potential to cover and would love to work with him again and obviously happily recommend him to any other models! Thank you Alan!!

I had a great time working with Alan on one of my studio days at Inspire Studios. Alan came prepared with inspirational pictures, which we looked through together in the beginning of the session and picked out what we wanted to focus on. Alan knows his light and we shot some beautiful setups. All throughout the session, Alan was very respectful and collaborative, and we worked together on micro-adjusting a few setups rather than rushing through the hours to get as many pictures as possible, which is what I prefer - I like quality before quantity.

The results I've seen so far are awesome, so I can't wait to see the rest. I'm happy to recommend working with Alan, and I look forward to work with him again another time.

I had the honor of working with Alan just recently in Aura photographic studio in Long Buckby and I could not recommend Alan enough. He is terrific in what he does, very organised and kind. He picked up from the airport and drove me back. Very good at taking a dancers criticism (as all of us dancers are very particular about what we do) and how it’s executed) I really enjoyed working together and creating some great shots. Had an awesome shoot today with Alan, it was our 2nd time working together and we had a great time. We shot at Inspire Studios with Ella Slingsby in a couples ballet duo day. He came prepared with a big range of ideas and inspiration which we had also previously been discussing. This helped us so much when it came to the time to shoot. I'm so happy with the final images, and it was a lot of fun creating them and making them work. I would highly recommend Alan, and look forward to the next time :)

Alan always comes so prepared with poses which is always very helpful and means we create interesting unique shots. Wow! Where do I start…… what a fantastic shoot adventure this was!!

We just spent a few days in Wales, travelling around some of the most beautiful places I have ever laid my eyes on. To have been able to not only see these wonderful places, but I got to capture the most stunning images in the settings. How lucky do I feel!! Very!!

We went from ruins to Gorges. Waterfalls to beaches. Mines and an island and amongst the most beautiful mountains….. all the time capturing more and more.

Alan is a great photographer and an absolute joy to work with. He has became a good friend over the time we have been shooting, and our trip is testament to that. Alan is great at shooting out on location, always on the ball and ready to take an opportunity as it arises. I absolutely love our shoots!!

Alan, thank you!! Thank you for an amazing adventure creating together. This trip, and the images we have created will be cherished for a long time.

It has been a while since I left Alan a reference so I thought it about time I left him another.....time does fly!

Alan has a good method when it comes to planning a shoot and this ensures he always gets the best from the studio and the model that he has chosen to work with here.

He comms are spot on pre-shoot and while he is at the studio there is a definite sense of getting the best from the time for all involved.

Alan works well with the models and ensures he stays respectful of the model and the studio at all times through the shoot which is always great from a studio owners perspective.

Always a pleasure to have Alan at the studio and look forward to seeing him back again soon.

I had my first shoot with Alan today. This has been planned for a while now. Alan’s communication prior to the shoot was top notch! We had a phone call to chat through our expectations and abilities.

We messaged a few times, then a few days ago he got in touch again just to clarify everything!

He chose Inspire Studios in Salisbury to shoot at. Alan took care of the booking and made sure I knew all the details! It was very easy to get to. Lovely space. Alan had worked there before so knew the space well, meaning he could direct me where needed and he did so in a very sensitive and constructive way!

I found Alan to be very friendly yet highly professional. It was clear he respected my boundaries. We had a fun time and he put me at ease fairly quickly.

I’m yet to see the final images but throughout the shoot Alan kept showing me the shots from behind the camera and as a new model this was very useful. He explained small details which helped me learn and helped us achieve the best we could.

Overall I am happy with what I’ve seen! So I’m really excited to receive the images!!

We have talked about shooting again in the future, I am more than excited about this as I feel we had more ideas that we didn’t get to explore.

Would highly recommend Alan, for his professionalism, friendliness as well as his photography skills!

Alan from the get go was detailed, precise and orderly. The pre shoot comms via phone answered all my questions without even having to ask them! He was interested in my background and what I could and more crucially wanted to bring to the shoot and he stressed that a first shoot together was very much a warm up and a getting to know.

The shoot itself was easy going and Alan generously encouraged and supported. This was my first proper art nude shoot in a technical sense and the genre is something I thought I knew a lot about but there is much to learn!

We produced some lovely results and I wasn’t convinced that I could deliver from my side but we did and Alan has offered a second shoot to explore more ideas in this genre and build on what we have already achieved.

Alan is very detailed and technically conscientious that is apparent in his body of work. He is a high recommendation for this style as he is passionate and knows what he wants and his ability is evident in his prolific work on here.

Another fabulous shoot with Alan and another day we were blessed with beautiful sunshine and mild weather, and considering it’s November, that’s pretty lucky!!

We had no plan, a rough idea maybe, but we went on our adventure and a successful day was had. The first location wasn’t the best, so soon decided to move on. It was at this point we spotted the planes circling so took advantage of the moment and went and got a shot that we’ve been discussing for some time now with the plane landing over my head. It was perfect!!

Alan is great for shooting on location with. He know exactly how to deal with situations which helps me feel totally at ease knowing he’s my extra pair of eyes.

It was getting chilly, so we decided to head indoors to shoot in a shower. Again something we’ve spoken about for a while. Alan was amazing, capturing the water and me beautifully.

Alan is an absolute joy to work with and has became a good friend over the last year. Not only a great photographer, but an absolute gentleman and a good laugh too! We have the best adventures!!

Alan and I worked together intermittently on Thomas Holm's worshop at Aura Studios. Workshops are always a little more challenging to ensure you're creating opportunities to explore what's being taught whilst still capturing some standout images, but from what I've seen so far, that was definitely achieved!

Very professional and would definitely enjoy a full length art nude shoot where we can explore shapes and muscle even further.

I had a beautiful shoot with Alan: we had been talking about it for months if not years, due to the covid we had to wait until now but finally we made it and it was great! 🥰

Communication with Alan is the key that makes his shoots work so well. He is a clear, open, easy going person. He seeks and encourages feedback before, during and after the shoot, he establishes a true collaborative relationship that involves the model in every proposal. Exactly the kind of relationship that I love to have!

We shot 5-6 hours at Aura Studios and despite my train being late we didn't let bad luck discourage us, and we brought home excellent results and we are already planning a next shoot together! 😊

Another amazing shoot with Alan!!

For the past year I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Alan five times! Each shoot we have been blessed with the most beautiful weather and this was no exception. We had some gorgeous October sun.

I love creating with Alan. We have the best shoots! Alan has a great eye and is a fantastic photographer. We work really well together, AND he’s one of the nicest people I know. Alan is great to work with out on location, this time we visited a stunning barn with a roof like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Oh my did we adventure here. Working together we got some amazing images, Alan captured it all beautifully. We also grabbed an opportunity as we passed a field of sunflowers, and finished of at a derelict building. We covered so much, it was ace!!

Yesterday I shot with Alan for the second time and again it was bloody lovely!

He turned up promptly on time for a cuppa and a quick chat before we began our day, to get reacquainted and organised. We laid out all our various props and garments, picked what we fancied for the day and began our ascent up the hill! Alan didn't hesitate at all when faced with a rather intimidating uphill climb to our location, even with a slight knee injury which was impressive. A total trooper!

Although the elements were against us at the top, we managed some gloriously powerful images. I'm always in awe of Alans ability to time his capturing of moving fabric so well. And even though we were expecting lots of sun, Alan took serious advantage of the clouds we were presented with and caught the atmospheric drama beautifully.

A favourite thing about shooting with Alan is his accommodating nature. Consistently checking in with his models wellbeing, always bringing snacks, and I thoroughly enjoy the little debrief we do at the end analysing the images over a beverage. He's aware of my desire to improve and therefore provides a safe little space after the shoot to check over everything we've done, not just to evaluate but more importantly to check my comfortability with the images we've taken. A true gent.

What an absolute joy it is to work with Alan!

From the beginning of our correspondence (which was many moons ago during the lockdowns) we quickly established a friendly and productive communicative dynamic, which led for a great gentle planning of our first shoot together when the world and our schedules allowed.

Alan is a wonderfully easy person to get along with and a real professional. All pre-coms were direct and concise, so after a few phonecalls and messages exchanged, we felt confident that we could approach the day happily ~ although with different personal styles, able to find that sweet spot where our aesthetics could collide and merge into a fantastic creative crossover!

The day itself was brilliant. Alan was a true gentleman always checking in with me to make sure we were both happy with the directions we we were taking. The day progressed at a natural gentle pace of relaxed shooting, back of the camera checks and assesses, whilst relishing in a cheery and productive atmosphere. I'm truly proud of what we accomplished!

Alan is so kind and considerate, he was happy to come and pick me up to take me to the location, brought us teas and snacks, consistently checked I was comfortable and content, and dropped me back home with us both already excitably scheming our next adventure!

I love what I've seen so far of the finished images and I'm excited to feast my eyes upon the rest. It's been a true pleasure, I look forward to joining forces again soon 😁
