This was my first time working alongside Alan (Wavepower). Arrangments had been made for a duo shoot with the lovely Freespirit and AnnaRose at the fabulous natural light spaces in Northampton. Communications leading up to the shoot were excellent. On my arrival Alan was all organised already having the lighting setup ready for the days shooting. On the day I found Alan to be friendly with an easy going nature but at the same time very professional knowing exactly what he wanted to achieve from the shoot. Alan was very respectful and at all times and always put the models comfort and safety first. Working alongside Alan was a great experience. Not only did I bring away with me some great Images but I also came away having learned a lot more about lighting and its affects on its subjects which will only go to benefit my photography in the future. Thank you Alan it was fun working with you and really hope we can get together again in the near future.

Well, after several weeks of excellent communication, my shoot with Alan at Hive Studios finally arrived. All of the finer details had been discussed well in advance through the exchange of many detailed messages, we also shared moodboards as a basis to work from, so I knew exactly what to expect on the day.

Alan is an incredibly warm and friendly person who made me feel at ease straight away. He is professional and respectful in his approach, and always had my comfort level and best interests at heart. The time we had together flew by, always the sign of a good shoot! We discussed ideas as we went along, bouncing ideas off of one another as we experimented with different concepts. Alan gave direction when required, but also let me develop my own ideas too - it was a real team effort.

Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Alan to anyone wanting to work with a talented photographer who gives his all to ensure you have a successful shoot. Given the chance, I would happily work with Alan again as I had lots of fun and loved the images we created together. Thank you :)

Alan and I had our first shoot together a little while ago at NLS. We discussed everything in advance, Alan's pre-shoot comms are excellent and everything was agreed no problem at all. On the day things went just as smoothly, we shoot to art nude including aerial and ballet and some leaping about. Alan is a really excellent photographer and very creative and a pleasure to work with, and the edits I've seen so far are wonderful. Very much recommended by me of course! Hopefully we can shoot together again soon :)

I had my first shoot with Alan in the amazing Natural Light Space and it was probably one of the best experience ever in my modelling career.

Space was huge, full of props with great light (despite the cloudy sky). Anything we needed to create artistic stuff was there.

I was pleasantly surprised by everything.

Pre-shoot communications were excellent, we discuss a lot about different ideas we could bring together.

During the shoot, I had a lot of fun, regular breaks, loads of refreshment.

I felt so comfortable to work with Alan which is such a sweet person, friendly, very interesting, professional and talented! He was also making sure I was happy with everything.

I could not expect better than this. I was so happy at the end of the shoot. I would be more than happy to work with him again.

I HIGHLY recommend Alan to anyone.

Natural Light Spaces

Don’t really know how to start on this ref.

This has to have been one of the best weekends in the studio. This awesome and talented photographer took our white room studio for a full 3 days to shoot 3 fantastic models.

His coms are totally spot on, we knew wel in advance what he would want from the studio giving us plenty of time to plan.

On the shoots you could not ask for a more relaxed but totally professional photographer. He takes real care to ensure that the models were relaxed and comfortable at all times.

Easy to talk to, laid back but wh a real plan of what it is he wants to capture.

We honestly cannot recommend him more highly and would have no hesitation in welcoming back at any time.

To models and studios if you haven’t had the pleasure of working with Mr Wavepower this is something you really need to correct.

I worked with Alan for six hours at the fantastic Natural Light Spaces.

I knew me and Alan would hit it off immediately because just by looking at his work I can tell we have he same interests and love in certain styles of photography.

Alans pre comms are excellent and very thorough, on the day I found Alan to be a dream to shoot with. He was so hospitable to my ideas and I really enjoyed our creative process. He is chatty, honest, open and makes you feel very comfortable and respected the entire time.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to other models and the fact that his work is of such high quality is an added blessing. Alan has a undeniable passion and one that I think will take him very far. I’m sure In a few years he will be highly regarded as one of the top dance photographers on here and it was a pleasure to be a part of his journey.

I am just returning from an amazing shoot with Alan today on a collaboration with the incredible Melany.

I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting Alan after communication through Purpleport and phone.

What a true gentleman so welcoming and caring about not only producing Photographic art that you were proud to have been part of but that your environment and comfort was put first .

This was a new venture for me being Retro Rob and I am so pleased Alan was that person to shoot that historic part of my life .

I recommend Alan 100% and hope anyone reading this is fortunate enough to get the chance to work with him.

This was my 2nd shoot with Alan, and I very highly recommend working with him. He very kindly agreed to help me with a project that I’d been thinking about for a long time which was my first art nude duo with a male model (Retro Rob - also highly recommended!)

Alan was excellent with his pre-shoot comms and contribute lots of brilliant ideas, and was keen to hear mine. He also secured some essential bits of kit for the day including a new backdrop and some seriously impressive lights! He hired a great venue and made us both feel really welcome.

Alan is an absolute pleasure to work with because he’s enthusiastic, knowledgeable, full of energy, very considerate towards the model, and takes fantastic images! He always shows you the back of the camera and makes sure you’re happy with the shots he’s capturing - which I was!

I worked with Alan at my home recently along side my good friend Soria as a duo, and had an absolute BLAST! It was our first time working together so I am always a little nervous but I needn't have been as from the offset Alan was very down to earth and gave great direction!

I still have much to learn in forming creative bodyshapes in Duo work - but together with Alans fantastic direction we achieved some beautiful photos which can be found in one of his beautiful folders showcased on Purpleport.

Alan aims to create stunning photography and it certainly shows in his portfolio! I loved the images we achieved together on the day!

I had a really lovely shoot with Alan at Manse Studio. Before our shoot, Alan was extremely understanding of me having to rearrange our original booking due to deadline pressures with work and we decided to meet and have a fun shoot so we could both relax and enjoy. That aim was definitely met, as well as trying a variety of styles and outfits.

Alan is lovely to work with, really professional as well as highly considerate of his model. He checked in with me at all stages that I was feeling comfortable and happy with the work we were doing and even bought grapes and cookies to eat as well.

Alan is not only a thoroughly enjoyable person to be around, he's a talented photographer who is really collaborative. I felt that I could offer ideas and experiment with movement or outfits (the studio had a huge range of props and outfits for us to try - just sad we never got round to using the enormous Welsh Dragon! maybe another time ;p) at all stages.

What I also really enjoyed was how we were able to try an idea and if it didn't work scratch it, but work really hard to get other shots that we felt had something just right. I definitely think the blurred motion shots we did at the end was a highlight - these required me to stick very closely to a small space, as well as time my movements precisely, and Alan was very patient with me while we worked on these.

I'm very pleased with how the day went and will certainly be happy to work with Alan again! Thank you, Alan!

Alan and I had wanted to shoot together again for some time, having worked together the first time at my home.

We managed to create some great flexible and dance-esque images that time, in restricted space, yet this time worked in a studio to allow more movement.

Alan is extremely creative and sweet, ensuring the model is completely comfortable at all times, and the collaboration flows; exactly how I like it!

He creates very flattering images using great lighting techniques, and is happy to work at it. Absolutely very highly recommended, should you get the chance to work with him!

He took the last remaining availability on my tour so we only managed to get a 3 hour shoot in but we got a lot done in the time we had, covering all the styles that he had originally set out to do and having lots of fun doing so!

I had my first photo shoot with the lovely Alan during my last tour of the South... He worked with Carl Grim in workshop/joint shoot format with myself and Monsieur E as the model. It was set to be a fun day and Alan was full of enthusiasm for it in the run up to the day sending moodboards/ideas for us to get a feel for the ideas... It was a duo shoot so double the challenges and fair play to Alan, he carefully researched some beautiful concepts he wanted to try out. Before we had even met and worked together I got good vibes that he was a keen and positively driven gent who really wanted to get the best out of the shoot. :)

When he first arrived, Alan had already made everyone his best friends due to the fact that he brought yummy nibbles! :D As a model, you never expect this level of thought as you prep yourself ready for the day but it honestly is such a lovely token because it's straight away shows the photographer off in a thoughtful and caring light, and that they appreciate that what you do is quite an energetic job. The atmosphere was fab from the word go... Alan is a super social and happy chap, so nice to be in the company of during a shoot. Throughout: we all chatted non-stop and just really gelled in a super manner Both Alan and Carl worked really well as a photographer team and bounced off myself and Efe with a non-stop flow of creativity. :) There were plenty of laughs through the course of the session and Alan, whilst being really chatty and encouraging of building working relationships, was totally respectful towards the models and always put comfort and happiness within the group first.

As a photographer, he is a genuinely good artist who derves total credit for putting the imaginative and visual effort into his shoots. Alan's great because he knows what images he wants to capture and will propose inspiration examples, but then he allows the models to interpret the ideas themselves too to create something dramatic within the duo. Furthermore he has a very careful eye to give good direction and shows epic attention to detail, angles and lighting. We made some beautifully varied images working together at Tanglewood studio that day, so many lovely shots and shapes! I truly enjoyed working with Alan and can only hope our paths cross again before long. He is awesome! Very highly recommended!

Alan rocks! Simple as that. I will say straight up he offered me cookies within about 45seconds of arrival so I was instantly sold lol.

A accomplished photographer wishing to expand and we certainly we pushed our styles with creative flair and purpose.

I met him for the first time today. He arrived well prepared, that we covered a lot of ground and he got some first class images of myself and Keira.

Throughly talented, more than he knows finding a balance between a dark model over 6ft and a light skinned model just over 5ft is not easy technically. We shot some amazing stuff and I hope to work with Alan again.

South House Retreat

We left the lovely South House Retreat in the capable professional hands of Wavepower for a group shoot workshop

The house was immaculate on our return. As usual I would highly recommend.

Artemis Fauna

I worked with Alan just today at my home studio for five hours and we had a great shoot.

We worked our way through the many ideas Alan had- but worked as a team on everything, trying different angles, re-shooting things to get them right. It was a very productive day.

We tried out some new styles for Alan and I am very pleased with the images.

Alan also bought along some grapes and raisin cookies which was a nice treat! All comms were spot on and I really hope I can work with Alan again one day.

Wow what an awesome shoot! Just got back from a fantastic day with the very lovely Alan. Today was exactly the sort of experience I was hoping to have when I started modelling.

Alan's pre-shoot comms were excellent and he was extremely collaborative and considerate from initial communications to right the way through the shoot. He put such a lot of thought and planning into the shoot and not only did we pack loads of sequences in, I also got to see some stunning locations near his home town of Frome.

We worked really well together, sharing and discussing ideas. Alan has a great eye for detail and spot on with his lighting. I can't wait to see the images as I'm sure they're going to be sensational. I really hope to work with Alan again before the year is out. 100% highly recommended :)

Had a fantastic and highly productive third shoot with Alan, this time at the beautifully equipped Photo39/Cottage Studio, on Sunday. It was a really interesting shoot, as I was revisiting the studio where I did many of my first photoshoots upon joining Purpleport 3 years ago, and in many ways this was a much better shoot, as I feel I have vastly improved as a model- I've expanded my repertoire of art nude skills, and Alan allowed me the freedom to try some quite challenging new poses, whilst he experimented with his lighting techniques. So this was a true creative collaboration. Pre-shoot communications were, as always with Alan, extremely thorough and professional, and he kindly picked me up and brought me back to my house. He also considerately provided healthy sustenance throughout the shoot (I provided the chocolates:)).

Alan gave great, clear, precise direction, and took pains to be unambiguous and respectful at all times- he is a decent and kind person, as well as being a highly talented photographer (the 2 don't always go together). Our mutual perfectionism means we have the same goal in common- to produce the best possible images we humanly can. I can't wait to work with Alan again- the images he showed me on the back of his camera looked beautiful. It imbues and sustains me with the desire to keep learning and improving- I think we're just going to get better and better.

Highly recommended, of course. My sole complaint is that I can't wait for our next shoot. :) x
