I shot at the Pit & Pendulum today as a part of Freya's studio day, and from the moment I arrived I was made to feel very welcome. The manager Danny was very friendly and more than happy to chat, as well as giving a guided tour of the rooms that are available for shooting in. The place itself is definitely not your conventional studio - the 'warehouse' areas have lovely large windows that let in a lot of natural light, and they have the feel of an 'abandoned' location with the safety of it being a looked-after establishment. A great place to shoot, and I look forward to shooting there again in the future.

Lost count of how many shoots I have now done at the pit xx but this one was the start of bringing my own imagination to life x shooting a very twisted Alice in wonderland shoot xx and where else would my mad hatter live than in the old lace mill that is the amazing pit and pendulum xxx every time i work here I see something new xx Danny is a sweetheart and none of his staff can do too much

AMAZING place to shoot! Exactly what I needed, photographed 3 models here and got so many different kinds of shots. Danny was super fast at replying and answering questions, will deffo be booking this place again. Highly recommended to everyone!

I worked at the fab upstairs daylight studios at Pit & Pendulum recently (both as a model and photographer) and was really excited by the space! 4-5 rooms (including a little mini room) of various sizes, with great dusty wooden floors, open brickwork, peeling wallpaper, and gorgeous gorgeous light! A few old chairs as props, but overall pretty bare with lots of space to get creative with - perfect.

Danny was a real pleasure to communicate with and very easy going. We were pretty much left to it, able to nip out for snacks and drinks at nearby cafe's/shops, and the actual pub below is super funky too (you have to go through a bookcase to get to the bathroom, it's exciting!)

Very pleased it's so close to me. Can't wait to work more in this gem!! Highly recommended! :-)

The Pit and Pendulum is quite simply an amazing place to shoot.

It has large spacious rooms with beautiful natural light coming from the huge windows.

Every room has its own unique character enhanced with stone walls,wooden floors and lots of interesting nooks and crannies.

The atmosphere created is wonderful and is perfect for a variety of styles in which to shoot.

If you haven't shot at the P&P before then make this little gem top of your list.

Finally i couldn't leave a reference without mentioning Danny who couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful.

I highly recommend this studio..... Its is absolutely amazing... so many rooms, full of natural light and so much space to stretch out and create art with your body as a Model, I recommend if you haven't shot at this place already DO IT now..... that's too both Model and Photographer. Dan is a gem who owns the place, very helpful and always happy..... This place is amazing for all type of shoots, but only having done Art nude there so for it is most certainly perfect for it.

Shot here yet again last month (finally getting all my references sorted). Despite having difficulties getting into the venue (lost my phone), the lovely staff were on hand and friendly as ever. Still an amazing space, with endless possibilties. If you haven't shot here yet, you should!

I had the pleasure of shooting shot here with Toxic Imaging, I was blown away by all the awesome places to shoot, props and atmosphere. One of my most enjoyable shoots to date, we were welcomed in and given the tour and made to feel at home. Highly recommended venue, book it now!!

The Pit and Pendulum is a fabulous place to shoot. No boring white backgrounds, green screens or chinzy wallpaper. It is like doing an urbex model shoot without having to find the hole in the fence. Danny was a dream to deal with and left us to our own devices after explaining all that we needed to know. Would definitely recommend a trip there. Worth every penny. Thank you so much.

I always love working here, there’s an abundance of natural light and endless possibilities when it comes to set building. They were more than accommodating, allowing me to store things in the space the night before the shoot and offered to throw away big, cumbersome single use props, which was above and beyond what was originally agreed and very kind of them. I would recommend to anyone wholeheartedly and can’t wait to use them again.

Had the pleasure of working at Danny's studio, I got some great shots using natural light, loved the distressed look in the part of the studio I worked in, it really gave my pictures that little bit extra interest - Nicola Kiss the model I worked with at the studio was really impressed with shots from todays shoot. I would recommend Danny's studio. Thanks again.

Now done four shoots at the pit and two more booked in next two weeks xx how many shoots do I have to do before I move my bed in xxxxx great staff great little jewel of a place upside is a great pint and great food xxx could never bore of shooting here xxxx

This place is incredible to shoot in. Danny and the staff were awesome and the venue itself has so much inside that it's impossible to use it all in one shoot and that's just the bar area downstairs!

The real gem for me though were the derelict looking rooms upstairs. Plenty of natural light from huge windows in every room. It really gives an amazing atmosphere to your photos. I'll be using it many more times in the future!

This is a cracking place to shoot. It is a blank canvas for you imagination. I was surprised at the amount of natural light comes into some of the rooms, lights may be needed in some parts but power is available. Prepared to get down and get dirty, it is quite dusty in places but that adds to the place. I had an old sheet so clothes and stuff could be laid out. Thoroughly recommended.

I was there yesterday with the amazing LEA LEA.. neither of us had been there before and I'd talked to a few people about it and had seen many of the images that have been produced there. And I can say reports of this studio are not exagerated in any way. Its even better in the raw..

You find one room and through another door leads to another then more stairs..and more rooms. Think Derelict and multiply by three. Its an amazing place and there was enough natural light throughout the day.

Apart from that the staff made us feel welcome and where friendly through the day. Danny was on hand to help create that welcoming atmosphere. And although we booked it for the afternoon we could have stayed longer.

Would I reccomend the studio..I certainly would. And hope to go back again soon. And once again thanks Danny and all there.
