Thurston Lodge is an ideal shooting location. Mark is an awesome host and the rooms are a photographers dream - natural light to die for and great space to work in. I highly recommend Thurston Lodge for editorial photography that comes alive in such a great location.

Had my first shoot at Thurston Lodge and just WOW.

Thurston Lodge is a stunning house with plenty of rooms to be very creative in and light even though it was a dull and damp day.

Mark gave us a very warm welcome on arrival and supplied us with cups of tea and choclate biscuilts which we felt was a very nice touch.

Mark was nothing more then the perfect host showing us around and letting us get on to shoot but was on hand if we needed anything.

Should also add that the commincation was first rate with directions, places to eat in a very detailed email.

I cant recommned Thurston highly enough we will be back to shoot again.

Another great shoot at the lodge. Mark is a very welcoming host and gets the balance between helpful and intruding spot on. He is there to help if needed, otherwise lets you get on with it, a very nice guy.

As for the lodge, great natural light, even last week, and so spacious. I shoot with a friend in separate areas and you would barely know another team was shooting. Can't wait to shoot there in the summer and use outside too. Love this place and will shoot there as regularly as I can.

What a totally fabulous location this is!

Lavishly decorated to the highest standard, each room brings new features and a huge number of different shoot options. This is quite possibly the photographer's perfect set!

And it doesn't stop there…

After a warm welcome by the owner, Mark, he very kindly offered us tea and biscuits, which was a really nice touch after a three hour drive! What really stood out though, was the post-shoot cuppa and chat. You don't get that at a studio!

Totally recommended!

I had an excellent shoot at Thurston Lodge with Rachelle Summers. On a freezing day in December, Mark kindly supplied cups of tea and ensured that the fire in the drawing room was kept burning so that Rachelle did not get cold. The location is superb and provides endless opportunities for interesting images.

I would be very happy to work at Thurston Lodge again and can recommend it without hesitation.

Shot at Thurston Lodge for the first time yesterday and would highly recommend. Had 4 hours shooting here but not anywhere enough time with my model. The various rooms are all fantastic for getting very different shots. Highly recommended with a very friendly owner.

My first shoot at Thurston Lodge and hopefully not my last. What a magnificent environment to shoot in. So many areas/settings to explore, add Mark (mein host) to the mix and you have a great place to bring a model to shoot many genres. Comfortable, relaxed and carefree.

What a beautiful location stimulating ideas and nothing to much trouble for the owner Mark for tea and coffee on arrival through putting logs on the fabulous wood burner in the lounge and checking everything was right just for us. You cannot create the ambience and period detail that this facility has to offer, only my second time there but certainly not my last. For model and photographer one felt safe and not abandoned but at the same time allowed to get on with our creative experience.

Had a lovely shoot on Saturday at Mark's lovely lodge. I needed a place with a piano in it and good natural light and it didn't disappoint. The place is big, beautiful and has so many features you will need to shoot at least a 100 times to make use of everything and with a 1000 variations.

I would like to thank Mark for his generous hospitality...We were made to feel very welcome and well taken care of throughout the entire time we were shooting.I can't wait to get back there and shoot again.

Had the pleasure of shooting here for the first time .

It is an absolutely fabulous home , I was in shock how beautiful it was , from the decor , furnishing and finer details . Everything just comes together . The whole house is like a piece of art . Truly can create some unique images here.

Mark himself is also very polite , he greeted us and made me feel very welcome . On hand for any assistance and hospitality needed. Great host.

Ill be back at the end of October too so I'm very excited. See you soon :D

I shot for the first time at Thurston Lodge yesterday and had a wonderful time there. I had organised a small expedition from Essex with 2 other photographers and 3 models/MUA. We all knew from friends and other work done here that the facilities for a shoot were first class and so it proved. But in addition Mark's professionalism and hospitality were top notch. All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our day - but now the models refuse to work anywhere else! :-) Thanks - I am sure we will be back and 100% recommended

I shot at Thurston Lodge for the first time recently and it was a most wonderful experience. Instantly welcomed with a smile and cup of coffee I soon felt at ease on the grounds of the location. Mark also popped the heating on whilst I was shooting indoors to warm up the cold air, which was highly appreciated!
