I had my first ever shoot at this beautiful location this week and Mark was an absolute star! He is so attentive and makes sure the fire is kept burning so that us models are lovely and warm, he ensures we have plenty of tea and biscuits and all in all, is a really lovely gentleman! Wonderful host at a drop dead gorgeous location ♥

Thurston Lodge is a great place to shoot, I already have another shoot booked in.

Yesterday was my first shoot at Thurston Lodge. What an amazing place! The variety of possible sets is incredible, both inside and out. Mark is a brilliant host, providing coffee and biscuits throughout the shoot. For a first timer at the venue like me, the photo options available can be overwhelming. I loved the place so much and will definitely be returning. The big advantage for me is that it isn’t too far away. Thanks again Mark, I had a great shoot.

Had a shoot at thurston with craftlense,the place is just as amazing as I remember,we ran out of Time cause there is just so much to do there,mark is a lovely host always making sure we were ok

It had nearly been a year since the last time I shot a Thurston Lodge, but again it provided a great background to some awesome images during today's shoot with Pippa Doll. Mark made sure we were topped up with tea whenever we need it and was kind enough to provide a lift back to the local train station. Now just to shoot there when it's covered in snow...

2nd time shooting at this fabulous place and Mark once again was the perfect host. On both occasions Mark has been warm, friendly and welcoming and nothing being too much trouble.

Thurston Lodge is beautiful with some amazing natural light and lovely period features with lots of space to create a lots of varied images.

Highly recommended!

Great first shoot at Thurston Lodge with Valis Volkova. Thurston is an ideal place to shoot with fantastic period rooms, great light and very well maintained. Highly recommended will be back shooting there in the future.

Excell After Dark

Spent the day at Thurston Lodge Studio doing a few shoots and would certainly recommmend the studio to anyone else.

Communication was great and Mark is a fantastic host and made us feel very at home and welcome.

Perfect for many types of shoots and will definately be going back again :)

Marks communication is spot on, an the the location is nothing short of outstanding. Plenty of shooting options all of which are stunning. Mark is also extremely helpful and attentive leading to a fantastic shoot.

What a stunning location with beautiful rooms lots of space and wonderful light. The owner (Mark) was always on hand if needed.

I visited Thurston Lodge for the first time a couple of weeks ago- for a three day "drama and decadence" themed event. Mark is absolutely lovely, made sure I was comfortable and warm, supplied with tea and coffee and biscuits, gave me a tour of the house so I knew the best places to shoot and advised me on the best times of year to visit for my next event.

The house itself is stunning- there are so many places to photograph and even after three days there were so many more locations in and around the building that I could pose in!

I'm already planning another event and can't wait. Highly recommended. :)

The rooms are beautifully decorated in authentic style and offer so many possibilities for images, there is so much space available to work with. The owner mark was welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended and I hope to visit again in the near future.

I just love natural light so walking through the main door of Thurston I honestly thought I’d died and gone to photographers heaven!

What an incredible place. Immaculate in every way, sympathetically and lovingly restored, host was amazing, On hand when needed and invisible when not!

My single regret is it’s a 3 hour journey for me but 109% worth it and I will be back as often as my car will bring me!

Amazing, totally recommended in every way!
