The Boardroom is a brilliant space to shoot with wonderful natural light and high ceilings as well as being well equipped with lots of strobe and modifier options. Phil was very welcoming, on hand if assistance required, and had a constant supply of good coffee! Will definitely use this studio again. Recommended.

I loved his studio, music and vibe.

He is creative and has amazing skills when come to taking pictures.

I am extremely excited to see the images as I know we had amazing results.

My second visit to The Boardroom, this time with Alicia K and Arabella.

It's a BIG space. It's well-equipped. It's clean. There's tea, coffee and biscuits. And it's WARM.

Phil makes it a really welcoming place, with his friendly and quietly-professional approach.

You won't find loads of room sets: but if your creativity flourishes in a nice white space with great natural light, you need to go there. Your models will love you for it!

Had a couple of shoots at The Boardroom before everything came to a halt. The Boardroom is now my studio of choice in this area. Lovely big space with good natural light (if required) and a full range of Elinchrom lighting. Phil is very helpful and knowledgeable. Fully functional kettle. What more could you want? I will definitely be back after these strange times have finished….

First time using The Boardroom and it's easily my new favourite studio!

I wasn't sure with gel lighting but Phil set up the lighting for me and was on hand whenever I needed any advice (also a great cup of tea)

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and I'm already excited to come back!

Another fabulous shoot at The Boardroom! Myself, Arabella, Alicia K and Phil all spent a wonderful day creating together. I adore working here but also love working with this awesome lot! We all get on so well and we are comfortable and free to experiment with no judgement from anyone.

When it was Phil's turn to take some images I was super excited. His creative energy is catching and you feel able to express yourself. When he shows you the back of the camera you feel just wow, this dude is amazing!! He really knows his lighting and composition. He has a true flare for photography and is extremely skilled at what he does.

The space is warm, spacious and you are able to experiment with natural light or make it more atmospheric with boards and gel lights. There are different backdrops and lights you can use and every time I go there is always something else I haven't tried and can't wait to. Phil is always on hand and happy to help. I would highly recommend Phil and the studio 100%! Thanks Phil!

Shot at the Boardroom again recently with two clients and, as usual, had an amazing time. It bears repeating that this space is glorious and so easy to get great shots in but also surprisingly versatile.

Phil is always an incredible host, professional, warm and accommodating with great knowledge of the equipment.

I can't wait to be back there next week!

Had a really enjoyable first shoot at The Boardroom.

The studio itself is very clean and spacious and has everything you could possibly need.

Phil is a wonderful host and made me feel very welcome as soon as I arrived. Offering to help with my very large suitcase and making me a nice cup of tea to make me feel very comfortable :) He's always there to help anytime you need him and just a great guy all round.

Managed to grab some shoot time with Phil too while I was there as I absolutey love his work. Even though we were short for time we still managed to get some awesome shots! I only wish we had more time to get through some more ideas because Phil is such an amazing photographer and retoucher.

Defintley hope to make a return trip to this wonderful studio in the future & would highly recommend it! Best place to shoot in Derby without a doubt.

There are a very few photographers that I can confidently say are amazing at shooting anything, anywhere and with any light. Phil is one of them.

What a marvellous day shooting at his studio, I am so happy he found time to work with me again (the second time) and I cannot wait for our studio days to kick off starting this Saturday.

Just a fabulous guy with incredible talent. His work says it all!

I shot at The Boardroom for the first time yesterday and found it be a fabulous place to shoot. The large white space is kept to a very high standard, very clean and bright. The studio has great natural light , but it also has a full Elinchrom lighting system with every accessory you could wish for. Phil is an excellent host who is more than happy to pass on his experience and technical knowledge to anyone who uses his studio. Very highly recommended.

I've just had a great time at this lovely studio - it's a great space to create all kinds of images. The Georgian room itself is gorgeous, with lots of opportunity via natural and studio lighting. There are boards and back drops to use if needed. Phil is a great host - very helpful, knowledgeable and a great tea maker. The studio has parking and is in the centre of town - brilliant. It was perfect for what I wanted to do. Thanks very much - it's definitely recommended by me.

Great studio with super natural light, some nice props, and a really friendly and helpful host in Phil. All in all everything you could want from a studio, I never realised I had such a great studio so close to me, and will definitely return.

Today I shot at The Boardroom with the amazing Phil. And I must say just how beautiful the studio is, it has so much character!

I am new to the industry and for my first shoot ever I was feeling nervous at first, but straight away Phil made me feel so welcomed and comfortable.

Overall an amazing experience and i would 100% recommend Phil and the studio.

I love this little studio! I attended the Lensmaidens meet here, and Phil made us all feel so comfortable - he truly is the host with the most!

The studio managed to fit over ten ladies (photographers, models and a designer!) and Phil in, and we were all snapping away, or throwing shapes, while Phil helped out, supervised, and made us all feel comfortable with hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Phil is so easy to talk to, and is great at reassuring those around him, and making people feel safe. If I could shoot in this space every day, I would!

Phil is in a whole new league of photographers... His abilities are absolutely outstanding.

He had about 1000 ideas before the shoot even began, which is always so good for me to hear. I loved all of them (especially the one lying down causing my brain to explode) :')

His attention to detail with the lighting is incredible and I learnt so much just watching him set up the lights...

He brought out completely different looks in me which is not an easy thing to do! I especially loved him doing portraits outside the box... getting me to get angry, which resulted in one of the most interesting images I've done to date!

Not only is Phil an extraordinary photographer and retoucher, but also a lovely person and so easy to get along with. The time just flew by.

His studio "the boardroom" is legendary too, one of my favourites I've worked in so far.

Highly recommended by me and I'm already looking forward to next time!

I really like The Boardroom. Accessible, Georgian professionality in an immaculate setting. Phil and colleagues are as ever most welcoming and helpful. Continuous lighting balanced with daylight (when visible) affords the white and black clarity we needed. Classic settings with ease, if required. The effortless access and equipment makes working at The Boardroom a pleasure, again.

Rapture Photography booked The Boardroom for a group of us to work with the extremely talented Sister of Sinister and Phil also got to shoot which I was so so happy about. This whole day was just a dream come true for me. I was turned into a sparkly snowqueen/Princess and it was just magical in every way.

During the day Phil made sure everyone was comfortable, happy and sorted the lighting which was just incredible. Having Phil's studio, his knowledge of lighting and him as a photographer there was just the icing on the cake for me. He is just a joy to work with and his enthusiasm throughout the day matched mine and we were buzzing. We worked well together and I hope we get to work together again. What a beautiful studio this is! This was my first time at The Boardroom, and it was with one of my favouite photographers and models, so of course I was going to have fun, but having Phil there, and being in this wonderful listed building, made it all the better.

Phil is a fantastic host, coming out the the car to see if we needed help with any bags, offering drinks immediately, showing us what was new in the studio, offering us snacks later in the day, makig sure we were ok and if we neeed anything further, and then even stopping traffic and guiding us out when we left.

I can't fault Phil and his Studio. It's clean, it's spacious, and it's different. The panelled walls make it stand out compared to other studios and the GREY walls mean that you can adapt the colour of the room to suit - Phil explained how much effort he put in to this! He is incredible! It's great for natural light because of the huge windows, but there is also lighting on hand.

Phil is a great guy: funny, caring, respectful and incredibly helpful. I honestly felt honoured to work here.
