This is my second shoot with Phil.

now possibly, one of the most enjoyable, creative shoots I've had to date on location at home, this year!

Bouncing off of each other's concepts and Ideas, we both, together managed to create incredible stills and footage of an English country girl vibe at home in her woods at the golden hour

So happy with the results and the lengths we both went to, to achieve them.

would happily shoot with Phil any day, highly recommended to anyone!

I had my 1st shoot today at the boardroom studio, with Arabella, The studio is amazing, I believe its an old Victorian house, it has the old panels on the walls, and original flooring, Fire places, The studio is really one room full of natural light, but you can use the gardens, Cellar and other areas to, There is also a plan in the pipeline to get the loft converted for shooting, The staff / Owner are friendly, polite and nothing is to much trouble to help you, Tea's and coffees are made, Heating for cooler days too. I recommend this studio to all models and photographers, really is worth a visit

I had my first shoot since joining purple port yesterday with Phil, although I have been in front of a camera before it had been a while.. so I was a little nervous before hand!

Safe to say I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for my first go on here. Phil is so laid back, which helped me relax straight away. Both himself and his assistant Rebecca are super friendly and very welcoming. The studio is beautiful also! The day itself ran smoothly and it soon all felt very natural to me again. Phil was even kind enough to give me lots of advice on the industry which I really appreciated!

Highly recommended! 100% using again. :)

The Boardroom was highly recommended to me by my friend Arabella during my recent trip to Derby. Luckily it became possible to head over there for a few hours in our schedule...and what a place!

We were welcomed by Rebecca who was absolutely fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she gave us a quick tour...and a great cuppa!

The space itself is clean and is capable of shooting so many things. It is mainly a large room but VERY equipped if you want lots of natural light or shoot with specific lighting, or portraiture...or just even need a white space. It’s perfect for that!

The only downside of my visit was that we had other places to get to and couldn’t stay longer. With a detailed plan I could have easily stayed there all day, and just shoot away happily!

For a new studio it has definitely started really well, and once more people discover the place it really will be in demand. A great studio, and I hope to go back at some point!

Had a great shoot today with Phil at his lovely studio in Derby. I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot. Phil is a very friendly guy and truly professional photographer, he new exactly what he wanted from the shoot. I felt at ease throughout the shoot and was made to feel very welcome. There was Great communication before the shoot. Phil is a genuinely lovely guy would love to work with him again. Highly recommended by me.

Well I went to have a look at The Boardroom studio and had a great meeting with Phil who is the owner, he showed me and my partner around and he also gave us a coffee and i was just amazed at the studio, its such an amazing place and if you love shooting in Natural Light well this is the place for you, I have already booked myself on a group shoot in June and will be using the studio to do my own work, can't wait to try it out

What a beautiful studio! Wonderful architecture with huge, gorgeous windows, and a great colour scheme to create some stunning images with. Very spacious, great for wide angle shots and large enough to hang backdrops in too. Big enough to shoot 2 models separately!

The studio owner Phil is so friendly and easy to get along with - professional and respectful at all times. He really knows his stuff and is a great asset to the studio! I also met Phil's colleague Rebecca, who was just as friendly and professional, and so easy to work with.

A lovely studio that I hope to visit again and again.

So the studio caught my eye after seeing it pop up a while ago now!... It's certainly a place I was dying to visit at some point, I then happened to meet Phil the owner at a social event. Found him to be really chatty and friendly and bursting to show me the studio!....

Finally we managed it!... I popped over to join Alice Katz, have a bit of a shoot and more importantly come and see the studio.

So the space! What can I say about the space, it's absolutely beautiful! It's clean (always important for me!) fresh, airy, bright and spacious. It boasts white wood floor boards and pale grey walls with beautiful panelling which takes influence from stately home decor. Three huge period windows with built in window seats and shutters makes this place really unique. The space is large and can easily fit backdrops, studio lighting set ups as well as two shoots simultaneously. Oh and there's also a beautiful marble fireplace.

The space is very high end looking and would suit a range of styles and themes from commercial to hobbyist. This is by far the best studio in the local area.

Studio lighting is available if you need it, although the light is so beautiful you won't need much if anything but a reflector. The lighting is constantly being added to also!

Phil who runs the studio is fabulous, he's friendly, chatty, inspiring and has a real love for what he does which creates an awesome working environment. We also met Rebecca whilst visiting and she was absolutely lovely again a real asset to the team there, she's also a very naturally talented photographer which a good idea for details and creative ideas. We pretty much spent the whole day shooting amazing images and having lots of chats & giggles.

So overall I would thoroughly recommend the studio, if you want a versatile space that will allow you to shoot for hours on end, be well looked after and leave with amazing images then give it a visit!

Capture a Nomad

I had a spontaneous yet, thoroughly enjoyable time shooting with Phil on a concept we previously discuss and brainstormed. we constantly bounced off of each others idea’s, load of fun messing with the light and we got what we expected and more which is what it’s all about.

He has a fantastic little studio in Derby and recommend him for his retouching services along with the experience of shooting with him :)

Can't wait to shoot with him again in the future and take advantage for alternative studio space!

I adore working at this studio. I had the pleasure of being booked there but Rapture Photography for a 2 and a half hour shoot. I was greeted by Rebecca who helped me carry my things in and made to feel so welcome. I was made a really lovely camomile tea and I was looked after throughout the whole shoot. Phil is fantastic with lighting and they both helped with the different set ups we needed.

The studio itself is just beautiful. The natural light that comes in through the big windows is just amazing. Phil knows the studio really well and what works and what doesn’t. So it’s great to have him on hand to ask if you need anything. The collection of coloured backdrops is awesome to choose from and both Phil and Rebecca put this up with ease for us to use.

I would highly recommend working at this fabulous studio! Thanks guys for everything x

The Boardroom offers an elegant space to shoot in with all necessary amenities, secure parking and easy accessibility. Phil our host could not be faulted - clear and prompt communication, friendly and helpful, without ever being intrusive. Thoroughly recommended!

Had my first shoot at 'The Boardroom' today. What a fab studio space. Bright, airy and clean. Started with natural light and then some flash. Phil was most welcoming and on hand should I have needed anything. I'd definitely recommend visiting here if you haven't already. Simply put,it's just perfect.

I was looking around for a last minute place to shoot and somebody on my Facebook recommended 'The Boardroom'.

Well, what a great recommendation it was!

Phil responded to my enquiry very swiftly and everything was all booked in

He gave clear instructions on where and how to find the place and upon arrival, I was greeted with a friendly face and offered refreshments.

This really is a fantastic little studio.

Very clean, great natural light and very pure looking with the white walls and floor.

Phil was easy to talk to and on hand if needed.

Very good rates to hire and I'm sure I will be back again in the future- highly recommended.

I had a fantastic shoot at The Boardroom today. Phil and the gang were really friendly and helpful which made it even better to shoot. The room is fantastic, I used it with just its natural light coming from the windows and that work really well for me. We were shooting on film so cant wait to see the results.

Would highly recommend and cant wait to shoot there again!

I visited The Boardroom last week and the place is beautiful - white washed floors and soft grey painted walls. It has large windows with lots of natural light, with some really nice period features.

Phil was extremely friendly and his enthusiasm certainly shows. Unfortunately I had to cancel a shoot today very last minute due to a problem with the model's car, whilst both myself and Phil were disappointed he was understanding and happy to re-arrange.

Highly recommended to all.

I had a fantastic time shooting at The Boardroom. Phil came to greet us with a friendly smile on his face at the gate into the car park and kindly helped to carry equipment and props. We first started shooting at a photogenic staircase near the entrance. The main shooting space with the three windows was very spacious and as beautiful as the photos even during night-time! Phil offered hot drinks to me and the photographer (the tea was excellent :D) and was always around to lend a helping hand with holding lights as well as standing out in the cold to keep an eye on some lighting equipment while we were shooting indoors! There was also an extremely fluffy blanket available to keep me warm between sets.

I highly recommend The Boardroom! It was a privilege to have been one of the first to shoot there and I'd love to return again sometime in the future. :)

Our first shoot at the boardroom, and oh what a venue

It’s a superb space with loads of character

If you want a venue that’s a paper roll in a garage, this is not the place to go,

If you want somewhere full of potential to fire your imagination with great period features that will add so much more to your image, it’s ideal

The main studio area has wonderful window space, but outside of that there are nooks and crannies and a lovely staircase. I wish we had several more hours to explore the possibilities, but will have to save that for 2nd 3rd and 4th visits

Phil our host was excellent and very accommodating, warm friendly and very helpful
