The Boardroom is a great studio, hugely versatile. Amazing natural light and well stocked with kit and props. It is also easy to transform the look of the space once the shutters are closed. I have shot here a number of times and never lacked places or variety in what I can shoot.

Phil is a great host, easy to sort out bookings and easy comms, very highly recommended.

I've been eager to shoot at The Boardroom for a while now, having heard from several photographers about what a great studio it is. I was therefore delighted to do my first photoshoot there yesterday, and to find that all the glowing reviews are absolutely spot on.

It's a fantastic place - spacious, bright and with wonderful diffuse natural light - rather like stepping inside a massive softbox. There's plenty of props and backdrops. The location is great too - there are a couple of parking spaces available within the courtyard of the studio itself, and also a big multi-storey at the end of the street.

Phil was an excellent host - good comms, well-organised and very welcoming. He was available throughout the shoot for advice and support as required.

All in all it was an excellent photoshoot, and most importantly of all I was delighted with the photos that I obtained. I'll definitely be returning.

A last minute cancellation almost meant the end to all the plans, but Phil stepped up and found a great model to work with last minute: Iyisha Rose (read the review, spoiler alert, highly recommended also).

I can't thank Phil enough for going above and beyond, and when I eventually got to work at the Boardroom it truly was that perfect natural light location. There's also enough props to vary the shoot nicely and even a nice set of stairs.

Phil was the perfect host for the 2 hour shoot and I'm already looking at the calendar and deciding when to visit again.

Highly recommended.

I've not shot at the Boardroom before as it's a good couple of hours drive away (even at 6.00 am) however I finally rectified that omission today, and was glad I did. Phil's service and assistance is second to none, making sure I got parked securely and offering help with my gear before giving me a tour of the studio contents (including those all important shuttered windows). Throughout my shoot he was on hand to help with props and lighting, though the latter was more for variety; the natural light in the Boardroom is outstanding.

Thanks Phil for all your assistance (and your tips on local landscapes for me to explore!)

It was so nice to be back in one of my favourite studios! Steve Mitchell booked me at the boardroom and I was super excited to be back.

I absolutely love the natural light but also love the lighting set ups that can be created in this space.

From the minute I arrived until I left I felt looked after. Nothing is too much trouble and Phil always makes you feel safe and is an epic tea maker!

Had another shoot at the boardroom studio! It had to be up there as one of my all time favourite studios! The lighting is absolutely fantastic!! I’m always so happy with the photos. He has an endless supply of props/outfits and a huge variety of lighting equipment.

Could not recommend this studio enough!

Well this was my first time in shooting at The boardroom. Phil was very helpful and welcoming and went through some ideas in helping me use the space available. I used on the day available light and I had a shoot with good friend Ivoryflame. I am looking forward to coming back in August for another model day. Highly recommended.

My first visit to the The Boardroom and will defintely not be last, what a great studio.It suits me perfectly as I only ever use natural light and this place has an abundance of it. PLus a quality selection of lighting equipment and lght modifiers etc. Plus props, plus a guy who understands photography, plus free tea.

Get there a couple of hours early and check out the nearby coffees shops such as the cosy club, the book cafe, the bear. It all adds up to great day out at the Boardroom

Never having photographed in a studio setting it was nice that Phil was on hand to guide me and give me some very useful tips.

There was a plethora of options with which to create great images including the BIGGEST softbox I've ever seen!

Phil pointed out the natural light in the room and as each window had shutters you could really get creative.

When it came to the shoot I decided no flash just natural light, putting up one of his flags to bounce back the window light on to my models and it worked beautifully.

Thank you for my introduction Phil, it was a very enlightning experience and made me think more of natural light.

It was great to see Phil again after a gap of 5 years, and PHLY is still a beautiful and welcoming venue, which is hard to beat in this part of the country. Phil was most accommodating and very kind with his technical advice - and makes a splendid cup of tea too! If you want a friendly, affordable, no-nonsense studio location with good access, parking, and simply stunning character, look no further! Highly recommended.

I made my first visit to The Boardroom to attend a Tabitha Boydell styled shoot at the weekend. Whilst the spacec is smaller than I envisaged from viewing many images, it is very flexible and full length images are easily achievable. It's bright and airy with lovely soft light and lighting is available to give things a little kick off it gets grey. The owner stays in the background unless his assistance is sought and I'm sure this won't be my only visit.

This was set second visit to The Boardroom, and just like the first it was a joy to attend. Phil's pre shoot communications are excellent, he's quick to respond and attentive to detail, not hesitating to help with any questions at all.

When I arrived, Phil greeted me with a cup of coffee and a chit chat before I started with the first shoot of the day! He's incredibly hospitable and nothing is ever too much trouble - whether that's moving props or acting as a stand in material thrower... ;)

The actual studio itself is huge, with absolutely amazing natural light that lends itself well to pretty, soft and delicate images - although if you close the shutters you'd be surprised at the contour light you can create! I've spent 16 fabulous hours creating in this studio, and yet there's still more I can do. The Studio is incredibly well equipped and Phil seems to have a never ending supply of props in the basement!

I love the studio and definitely hope to visit again. Thankyou for hosting me!

Nothing is ever too much trouble and Phil helped me with the running of my Futuristic Fashion event. We kept it small and intimate so as not to overload and it worked super well! A very successful day! I really can’t recommend this studio enough. Easily the best studio in the midlands! Get booked in!

I organised a shoot with model Rihanna Grey as she lives in Lincolnshire I had to find a studio to accommodate our travel plans and The Boardroom ticked all the boxes.

It was my second time at the Boardroom as I had been in March, it is a fabulous space to use and Phil is on hand should you need anything and plied us with coffee/tea.

Will defo be going back in the future, highly recommended.

After what will affectionately be known as the lockdown years (hint of sarcasm) it was so refreshing to step back into the Boardroom. Phil's hospitality is second to none. The model on this occasion was Artemis Fauna.

The studio was ready to go, the kettle on, and any assistance provided along the way. Phil is a great host, and the Boardroom is a very well equipped studio and home for creativity to be created.

This was my first time working at the boardroom and it went so well! The studio itself is very versatile, lots of scope there for many concepts and styles. I spent time on the mantlepiece, on some posing boxes, in the green armchair...etc. and I honestly felt like you could never run out of ideas there! Phil is lovely, chatty and chilled out. More than happy to work there again.

I took on a last-minute booking at the Boardroom and i’m so glad I did. I can see why creatives love this place and why it’s been recommend to me by many people. The studio allows for an impressive control of light, with the main windows providing multiple options, especially when combined with the kit available. And to top it all, Phil is one of the most welcoming people I’ve come across in photography circles.
