I attended Mike’s tuition day last weekend on combining natural light and flash - it started out with the simple things around the photographers mindset that actually aren’t simple when you really start to understand them (location shooting is not my strong point!), and then moving into flash techniques which really brought out some powerfully beautiful images making out already stunning model someone for whom one would launch 1000 ships ;-). Mike was patient and good natured throughout and I’d commend the afternoon to any beginner or intermediate - I strongly suspect I’ll be back at some point having experimented with further shoots. An afternoon very well spent!

I had a really great day at Mike's Creative Lighting Course.

The course was very well put together and easy enough for me to understand.

It was very informative and well-paced, He explained each of the lighting set-ups as we went along thoroughly. I felt we all had ample time to get shots and no one was rushed. He gave us a lot of information and was very open to providing feedback and answering questions.

Mike is a really good instructor and look forward to doing more of his workshops.

I would certainly recommend his lighting courses to photographers of all levels.

I attended Mike’s lighting course yesterday. It was well thought out and Mike is a talented educator who knows his stuff and somehow managed to cover a lot of ground without it feeling rushed with attendees having plenty of time to shoot the fabulous Irida S. I’ve already signed up for his natural light course in a few weeks.

I attended Mike's creative lighting course last week as a beginner photographer who was completely new to shooting in a studio. I can thoroughly recommend Mike as a knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful photographer and tutor. I came away with some great shots as well as lots of ideas to play with.

Worked with Mike on one of his lightening courses over the weekend and can heartily recommend both him and the course. We covered a load of set ups and many subjects, but it was all clearly explained and demonstrated and the results are excellent. Mike is a great teacher and you will learn a lot.

I attended a workshop on Sunday run by Modelogeaphy, titled “Natural Light and Speedlight Course”

Mike taught us various aspects on how to improve and getting the model to stand out more by using the additional flash light. Having mainly shot using natural light only, this was such an inspiring day for me. Mike also provided course notes for us as well.

Our model for the day was Irida, who I have shot with before, so I knew we would be in for a good day, she provided us with many different poses and outfits and I have a great set of images due to the hard work she and Mike put in for us.

If you shoot with natural light you will find Mike’s course will add to your abilities and I thoughroughly advise investing in the course, it is also excellent value for money.

I attended an outdoor lighting workshop with Mike and Irida S in a beautiful location chosen by Mike. Mike knows the venue well and we regularly moved around to different areas with different backgrounds and colours with Irida having the perfect outfit each time. Mikes guidance and explanations made a lot of sense as we experimented with various lighting set-ups in each set.

A very positive learning experience that encourages me to venture out more often and experiment with lighting and try new ideas.

Thanks again Mike, and I recommend these workshops to any photographer looking to develop their skills, or maybe simply take the opportunity of professional lighting and a top model to shoot!

Had a Speed light workshop with Mike and modeled by Irida S, what a great day of learning, highly recommended, met some lovely people at the shoot. Mike was very thorough and explained situations and lights really well. No rushing and had plenty of time. I will look out for more like this from Mike.

Just home and backed-up my images following a great group shoot with Mike and Irida S, our wonderful model for the day. Can thoroughly recommend Mike as a workshop host - his communication and shot explanation on the day was excellent; each set-up was thought through, with different lighting approach for learning; each location made use of chosen lighting effects and Irida's outfit; he took the time to arrange each shoot carefully, so each photographer could 'step in' and work with Irida with modest tweaks to the set-up. Thanks Mike - would happily join you again on another shoot :-)

Would echo Mr Sims enthusiasm for the course , both well directed and structured . Taking the group through the various lighting options and then allowing good shooting time with our excellent model was appreciated

Great course presented by Mike with the excellent Irida S doing the hard work! Really informative and I gained a lot of information in a short time. Course notes were very useful and I would thoroughly recommend Mike to anyone who wants to get much better at using flash in a wide range of conditions. You can't go wrong by booking a course with Mike. Many thanks indeed.

Was so privileged to finally get the chance to work with Mike! All be it super last minute :)

Mike and I shot in two locations close to my home, and I think the pictures produced are some of my favourite images yet! BOC was regularly shown and Mike works quite quickly too so we were able to get multiple perfect shots- each one better than the last! :)

I would happily recommend him to anybody and would love the opportunity to work together again!

Had the pleasure of modelling for Mike's Natural and Speedlighting workshop on the 12th of July and I am already looking forward to the next ones :)

Mike is a very experienced photographer and an excellent tutor ! The workshop was structured and informative and Mike was there to help and answer all the questions the photographers had.

Attended another one of Mike's workshops on using speedlights outdoors at a stunning location with a great model. Mike's was well organised around rearranging the date due to the covid situation and making sure people were taking precautions like bring hand sanitiser and wipes as well as their own lights.

I like how Mike explains things, building things up bit at a time and showed things like the effect of the sun whilst it was out compared to shaded behind a cloud.

The workshop was run at a nice pace so we had plenty of time to ask questions and retry things that didn't quite work the first time.

Great choice of model and location for the workshop, well organised and plenty of things to practice on future shoots.

I did a workshop yesterday with Mike for the first time, on using speedlights outdoors. This was a special challenge on the day, because of the bright sun.

Mike worked systematically and carefully through a variety of setups outside, explaining things very clearly and working well with the four photographers' own equipment as well as his own. We worked with natural light, fill flash, overpowering the sun, backlighting, flare, and smoke bombs.

The model and the venue were fantastic.

Highly recommended!

I had the utter pleasure of attending Modelography's Natural Light and Speedlight workshop on Sunday. It was a fabulous day, with Irida S modelling fantastically for us. The group size was small (only 4 attendees) which is great in these current times. The location was an absolute dream and Mike's teaching style is wonderful - informative, yet fun. Making what can be quite a daunting subject very digestible! Plenty of shooting time for each participant, means you come away with those killer shots for your portfolio to. I would absolutely recommend attending one of Mike's workshops. Incredibly informative, really good value and a blummin good day out!

Had the most fantastic time working with Mike on the 23rd of June.

What I like about working with Mike is that he knows what he wants to capture and once we get the shot we move onto the next theme which makes the shoot very productive and fun !

Mike collaborates with designer Carrie Kourtney and had the chance also meet and work with Carrie on the day .

A very professional , talented and easy to work with photographer .

Very highly recommended of course and can't wait to work together again on the workshops in a few weeks time
