I had the pleasure of attending Mike's workshop on the weekend just gone. Mike a great photographer and a good teacher.

The workshop was set up well, and Mike made sure that everyone was able to have a go and capture some images that they could be proud of. I had a great time, and felt like I learnt a lot even in just a short space of time.

We cover a range of lighting setting ups and styles, and Mike explained the reasoning behind them all brilliantly.

I would recommend Mike as a photographer and his workshops!!

Stargazer Photography

I had the pleasure of attending Mike's Advanced Studio Lighting workshop at Scarlet Door. Not only is Mike a fantastic photographer, but he's also an excellent host and tutor.

The workshop was extremely informative, very well-paced and each element of each lighting setup was clearly explained. Mike ensured that there was time for questions and made sure that each photographer was comfortable with each set-up.

For the final hour of the day Mike ran the attendees through his post-processing workflow - lots of great tips and tricks and some great time saving advice as well.

I'd thoroughly recommend attending one of Mike's workshops. From beginner to seasoned pro, there are so many incremental gains to glean from his workshops that it's impossible to walk away from one without improving as a photographer.

I had the pleasure of assisting a really awesome photographer on a shoot in Brighton, I was invited to be there by a wonderful hair stylist Sandra Parsons. It was very interesting not being behind the camera for once, and seeing how someone else prepare the venue describes how angles and lighting can be achieved when the area looks uninviting to me.

I was so grateful Mike allowed me to assist him holding lights, reflectors etc it really made my day. Mike is a true gentleman and a really great help when I asked questions about the techniques he was using and settings in the camera.

The images and edits that I saw on the day and recently were amazing, exactly what themes the model and hair stylist had asked for. I would certainly recommend Mike for photography and any help you need. Thank you one again Mike

Mike and I worked together on another epic shoot in brighton! Well what can I say other than mike is the most amazing,professional,talented photographer ever!😃 He's great fun to work with, we worked a solid 8 hours which just flew by! The images once again are to die for! 😋 Mike is a true gentleman, lots of awesome ideas, great guidance to the team

Had a lovely shoot today. Was very gentlemanly and comfortable to shoot with. Definitely an experienced creative mind always on the lookout for the best possible photo given a location. Came ready with a moodboard of ideas for particular shots and we got some really great images out of it. Definitely recommend

I absolutely love working with Mike, I find that this ideation and creative process are second to none. What to most people would be a simple rock or bracken, to Mike is a whole background and epic story. As such, we always end up with absolutely stunning images.

We had booked to go to a fairground in Devon which was cancelled at the last minute. This didn't stop Mike however as he was immedietely on the case fidning alternative locations, and found us an ideal area within Dartmoor (assisted by his extensive network.) After driving all day we decamped and ran to a quarry and began shooting straight away. Several hours and sets later we were back in the car, happy and exhausted on our way back to the guest house for dinner and yet more shooting.

Mike even managed to work with me on boudoir, despite it not entirely being our comfort zones; and voila; gorgeous making eyes images!

I'll keep working with Mike again and again; I recommend that you do so too! x

I worked with Mike a few years back when I was looking to grow as a photographer and looking for someone inspirational who had great images and lighting. I was lucky enough to work on a one to one session with Mike where he taught me most of the fundamental stuff I know today. Mike has since gone on to do many workshops and work with many people helping them to be better a what they do in a down to earth and simple learning style. He never ceases to amaze me with his simple but slick style and every image he produces is worthy. Its no surprise I always talk about him to models when discussing how I started and also no surprise when models add him to thier WWL.He is a lovely guy and He has worked with most of the great models on Purpleport and continues to do so.

Its fair to say that most of what I do today technique wise is based on Mikes tuition and I see him as the big brother you always want to be like and emulate.I continue to follow his work and style and remember a few golden nuggets he imparted a long time ago. Should I ever want a constructive opinion on my work it's fair to say that Mike is probably the only person who's opinion I would seek and value fully and advice I would take. If anyone is looking to improve thier skills get on Mikes workshop whatever it happens to be. If I was recommending a photographer on here Mike would be number 1 on my list. *****

I have worked with Mike many times, modelling on his brilliant workshops and also shooting 1-1 with him. He is great to shoot with and lovely company. I love his work, he nails every shoot. It is also a real pleasure modelling on Mike's workshops. He is always thoughtful, professional and fun. Models will love shooting with Mike and photographers will enjoy his workshops :D Mike is easy going and easy to get on with and it's always got a great vibe working with him :) I would highly recommend him to anyone, trustworthy, lovely, genuine, sound as a pound :D :D Thanks for everything and being a great friend :D

Mike ran a one-to-one natural light and editing session with me a good while ago, and I still follow his advice now.

He suggested a fantastic location, and gave clear, useful explanations of what to look for when shooting outdoors, how to frame an image, how to place a model and a lot more. He took minimal time to shoot himself to ensure that I was getting plenty of amazing images.

For the editing portion, he clearly explained why he uses certain tools for certain jobs, how to style a photograph, and lots more.

I'd thoroughly recommend anyone of beginner or intermediate level to do one of Mike's courses. You're sure to pick up more than a few amazing tips and tricks!

Did some training with Mike a long time ago. Put me on the road to taking nice pics and I still use a lot of what he taught me everytime I go out.

He has the knack of explaining things to idiots (me) in simple ways that stick in your head and you can use going forward with whatever type of photography you decide to do.
