My shoot with Mike was brilliant! His portfolio speaks for itself so to write highly of his skill with lighting and astute eye would be superfluous. We whizzed through about 8 costumes changes in less than 3 hours. He was open to all my ideas and let me look at the back of the camera which I was very grateful for. I felt very comfortable shooting with him as he was entirely respectful of my levels. Lovely guy. Thanks Mike! Highly recommended

I replied to Mike's casting call and we were able to arrange a shoot at very short notice because I was about to go away and we were both available. Pre-shoot comms were very clear and detailed. He picked me up at the station right on time and we had a good conversation on the way to the location.

The location was unique and he gave me something different to improve my portfolio. We worked on many different concepts and created some impressive results. Mike was a pleasure to work with and we worked well together. I would happily work with him again, anytime.

I was getting a little disillusioned with modelling and this shoot revitalised me as it provided me something different and challenging. He made good use of the equipment, using gels, lighting and smoke machines to create different atmospheres. He certainly knows what he's doing and his reputation is clear deserved.

Highly recommend him to everyone.

Oh Look it's Nemo

A few years ago, I caught a glimpse of the back of a bald head at a social in the depths of Reading. There were a few pointing fingers into his direction that said ‘if you ever get the chance to work with that guy over there, do it’.

Today, I discovered what all the hype was about.

There’s not many people that can click through a set of 10 shots where every single one is a keeper. And there’s even fewer people that can see the picture before they’ve even taken it.

And then you get Mike, who can do both of those things all whilst holding smoke machines, a video camera and waving at naughtily owls to look at his lens. He’s a true talent in the freelance photographic world and an absolute pleasure to work with.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike yesterday when asked to join him at the last minute to shoot on a large project involving a big team involving stylists, HMUAs and multiple models.

Mike was the first out to welcome me and talk me through plan, as I had arrived quite late in the day, it was great to receive a clear brief on the shoot requirements and reassured me immediately as to what was expected of me. Having admired Mike's work, it was great to see him in action. Seeing how he directs models, composes his shots and to work alongside him and to learn from him has already taught me so much.

I would recommend working with Mike to any models, and photographers. Thanks so much for a great day Mike, really enjoyed working with you and hope our paths might cross again!

Had the great pleasure of working with Mike at an Asian Bridal group shoot. He's full of great ideas and very helpful in showing me the back of camera as we were shooting (great for a newbie like me!) His attention to detail with lighting and framing produced some killer shots!

In particular, I was impressed with his efficiency. We got through one outfit look fairly quickly as he instantly knows when we have nailed a shot and we'd move on rapidly to the next idea. I'm already very happy from what I've seen in the raw images and I'm super excited to see the final edits!

Mike was the main photographer for a massive Indian bridal shoot I was modelling for. We've seen each other around a lot but didn't manage to work together until then, and I am really glad we did.

Mike is very easy to work with, gives good direction, and knows how to achieve a great end result as quickly as possible (very important when you've got three models to shoot and endless possibilities in an old manor house). Nonetheless he was also very open to my input and letting me get creative - even when that meant climbing up onto a high windowsill.

Not only that, but Mike has been incredible at getting the edits out to us all - and believe me, a lot were requested - yet not compromising on quality in the least.

Thank you Mike for a great day and some great shots I hope we can see in a magazine soon!

So I and Mike have been chatting about a shoot for a few years now and we finally got one organised! It was worth the wait! What a blast it was!! Mike is a very talented photographer, yet he still blew me away! He has lots of amazing ideas and was happy to work with any i threw in too! The shoot was a great collaboration which resulted in some of my favourite shots to date!! :D

What I LOVED about shooting with Mike was that when we nailed the shot - we moved on! Even if we got the wow shot in the first take! Mike did not mess about at all! He knew we nailed it and so we went to the next set! That meant that in 4 hours we managed to cover a brilliant amount of different looks, and all shots were of the same high standard!

Mike is very down to earth and easy to get on with! we had some great conversations and it was wonderful to be working with a fellow creative that was full of passion and enthusiasm! One of my favourite shoots and I would Highly reccomend working with Mike! :D I hope I get to again soon!

Having admired Mike's work for years, I jumped at the chance to shoot with him! We worked together at my oxfordshire home/garden venue, having put together a set of ideas we both wished to cover. Pre-comms were super, and Mike was just as great to work with in person. He brought with him some stunning floral headdresses I got to model too! The images on back of cam and the edits I've seen so far are just beautiful, I am really happy. Highly recommended and hope to shoot again with Mike myself very soon! :)

I had the pleasure of working Mike on a last minute spontaneous shoot, and what a shoot!! He taught me a lot about Reading, and fair enough the hotel was not in a great situe but if any one was going to make this work it was Mike.

He was incredibly easy to work with and would certainly advice shooting with Mike against site seeing in Reading. ( No offence to the sinking toilet and Victoria ).

The shoot was swift, spontaneous and incredibly productive. Just go shoot with him although spacial awareness to shower may be an issue.

Highly recommended.

I worked with Mike again on a shoot, and I literally could not have worked with a better photographer or person. I lent him some garments for a shoot, and got some wonderful pictures back in return.

This is technically my second time working with him, and I'm excited to say, it won't be the last.

If you are looking for something a little different, be it edgy, gels, ethereal or something else, then Mike's your guy. I would highly recommend working with him if you get the chance.

It’s been a long time coming since me and Mike got to shoot again - finally that day come on Thursday. Mike picked me and My Mum up from my house and took me to scarlet door studio, which was very kind of him.

Mike is very easy going, has a relaxed approach, accommodating, has a good eye for style and he knows the look he wants to go for.

Mike cracked on with the shoot. We had ideas of what we wanted to do. The whole day went far to quickly for my liking.

I highly recommend anyone in the industry to work with Mike!

This was my first shoot with Mike at Scarlet Door. The makeup area was well lit and spacious enough with everything i needed to do my job properly.I thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and felt relaxed straight away in Mike and the models company. I was completely left alone to do what was required which was great but Mike provided info when I needed it. I also felt comfortable enough to add my opinion with direction whilst shooting and being able to step in at appropriate points to touch up makeup and hair. The shots I've seen from Mike so far look fantastic and I'd love to work with him again!

My second workshop with Mike, this one was Speedlights on location in Brighton. As before Mike was great at explaining things and encouraging you to see things differently. We had the awesome Angel as our model as well. Mike is a fantastic photographer and teacher which really showed in the results that i got, I hope i can get as good results on my own. Attended one of Mike's workshops. He is a very friendly, down to earth, knowledgable photographer. His method of teaching gave exactly the right level of detail, and showed how much he enjoys his craft. Being able to problem solve on the go also demonstrated his experience. All in all I can thoroughly recommend his workshops, and will gladly attend another in the future.

What a nice guy! I very much enjoyed working with Mike, he's extremely easy going and pleasant to be around and i feel like we worked well with one another. He's what i would describe as a 'proper' photographer. He cares about light, interesting backdrops, reflections, angles and composition, and his photographs speak for themselves.
