References for Map Studios

I was looking for a different, interesting studio for a shoot with Angel Price and I found the new Map Studios which was absolutely perfect.From "studio" to Grot, but with fantastic window light as well as artificial.

Assistance to work out the odd thing but if not needed Alex was invisible.

It was warm as well. For some reason models insist on this. For me a set of Thermals is fine but then models can be fussy.

Do I recomend it. Well, I am shooting there again in December.

Today I got to work at this studio for the first time. Wow! I loved it. The studio is awesome. It's even lovely and warm. And has coffee. Two big plus's for me!

The studio has so much to offer , so many styles and areas to use ! Alex was a great host , very chatty and helpful.

I definitely will be coming back to the studio again and I highly recommend it to all models and photographers. A great studio x

I had a wonderful couple of studio days at Map Studios!! The new space has so many little pockets of treasure waiting to be found. The natural light pouring through the derelict room is to die for, and the set Alex has built in the barn room adds to the creativity waiting to be embraced. What is really exciting is there are still rooms waiting to be opened-So WATCH THiS SPACE!

Further to this, Alex and Becky are the most wonderful hosts, and go far to make you feel welcome at all times. They really do look after their models!

I can't wait to visit again in the new year....

Great shoot at Map today, the new studio has the same unique character that the old place had, but offers some new sets and rooms. Great studio space with plenty of potential.

I absolutely ADORE working at Map Studios!

Alex and his lovely wife Becky are the most incredible hosts that you could ask for! They put me up for a few nights at their house and really looked after me and made me feel welcome.

In addition Alex is just incredibly skilled at social media and marketing and for a model is an absolute dream to work with. He always sells out my studio days within 24-48 hours, with very little effort on my behalf! It's amazing.

Recently I worked at the new studio and it's absolutely incredible! Even though it's new there are so many sets already and lots of versatile space that can be used to create your own sets too. The building is absolutely HUGE and there's a derelict area downstairs (that's safe to be in), that has the most beautiful natural light streaming through the windows. It really is a photographic heaven and there's no way that you would think that was in a studio as it's very authentic.

I'm back again in February for my sell out studio day and I can't wait to see what changes Alex will be doing to the place over the next few months. It's already looking amazing, but it's going to be spectacular when it's finished!

I had my first shoot at Map studio in preparation for shoots and workshops, the studio is excellent with everything you need to have a successful and varied shoot.

Alex was the perfect host and made sure my day was a great success as I was testing kit and styles.

All the main studio areas was perfect for all my plans and models are well catered for with great changing & makeup areas

The studio is nice and warm another great plus point and as time goes by the other areas under development will make it one of the best studios in the midlands.

A total pleasure to work at thanks for a great day Alex :D

I got to shoot at this awesome studio with Lotti Rose for a two day duo event - Alex is one of the most chilled and laid back people I have met and also one of the nicest!

He was an amazing host, looking after me and his sense of humour got me from the start - what he has done with the studio is stunning, so many rooms to shoot in, with different sets that have plenty of lighting and that huge collection of props!

I came away from that wonderful studio with a pair of boots that Alex has gifted me and a massive smile of my face - really felt like a second home….I can’t recommend this studio and it’s epic owner enough, so looking forward to my studio event next march there :)

Oh my goodness... EVERYONE needs to shoot at Map! The new Map Studio is epic with endless shooting opportunities... and it's only about a third completed! It's going to be out-of-this-world once it's completed. I'm so excited to see the entire finished result.

Alex is an utterly brilliant studio host too. He's very welcoming and really chilled out. He's incredibly dedicated and he's made Map not just a studio, but there's also a real community feel with the photographers and the models alike.

Alex and his wife also very kindly put me up for a couple nights. Every time I stay, I'm always made to feel very welcome.

Pre-shoot communications are perfect and well organised too, so booking in a studio day is a breeze!

The Studio is much larger and with the work carried on by Alex, there will be a greater range of sets to choose from.

This was my first visit to the new MAP Studio, as part of a model's studio day.

Compared to the original venue, the new studio is a world away from the original studio, more space, more sets and an amazing array of props.

Alex showed me round before my shoot outlining what he has planned for the unfinished parts of the building. Once it is finished it will be a photographers dream.

I have lost track of the number of visits that I have made to this studio both in version 1.0 and the now amazing version 2.0.

Alex is a top guy and keeps pulling an amazing calibre of top models to work with.

If you haven't worked there, shame on you - get down there and book!

Today I used the Map 2 studio for the 4th Time

The images you take are a collaborative venture between you and the model but there is a third partner. For me that is the Map 2 Studio, The Map format is highly effective, supply a specific environment and support the photographer, with adapting it to create the shoot you want.

Alex really looks after both the models and photographers, ensuring the environment supports what they need, Map Studio has a range of environments supported with a vast range of props, this means you will never run out of opportunities

As with Map 1 Alex is always looking to add extra facilities and to support the photo shoots.

Doubling up as hospitality, always a drink available when you need one and as Chief Prop and lighting Grip everything is always in place when you need it.

Map Studio has created a great environment for the photographic community, and long may it do so

Another smashing shoot at Map organised by Alex who really knows how to look after the photographers and offers a great space to work in. The new studio area is an improvement over the previous one and has everything from seamless to a vintage piano. The studio days at Map have the very best UK travelling models and the Map page is worth keeping an eye on as Alex releases new dates. He also brings in well respected photographic educators to run workshops and if you are new to model photography then these would be well worth looking at.

My second time at map studios, this time for 3 sold out days :)

It was my first time at the new studio which is literally around the corner from the last one.

I was pretty impressed with the old Map studios but this one is even better and bigger than the last.

So much space and opportunity in the main area but the other rooms derelict/barn etc are just amazing too and bring so much more to your studio experience-that being said there are more rooms being built up right now, wet room/boudoir so you can only expect more and more :)

Alex is an amazing host,him and his lovely wife Becky looked after me 100%, couldn't ask for more.

I am going back in December to host my 2day sold out 60s event and I can't wait.

Back in August I first visited Map Studio for the first time and was met by the owner, Alex, who was very friendly and helpful. He left myself, two other photographers and our model,Cariad to shoot while he attended to his new premises .. We had everything we needed for our shoot, even tea and coffee supplied!

Being curious, I paid a visit to Alex to take a look at his new up and coming studio. At that time he had a mountain of jobs to crack on with to allow this premises to open. Within a month my photography club had an evening shoot here and were amazed by the work he had achieved in such a short period!

This studio offers so much, even areas where natural light can be taken advantage of. Map Studio is highly recommended and is being run professionally .. Well done Alex .. Now looking forward to visiting sometime soon .. Keep up the good work ..

Wow... what a great selection of space, from derelict to boudoir, all under one roof. Loads of room, all the lighting and equipment you need.

One place I will be definately be recommending to photographers and models alike :)

Well, if you've not made it to the new space(s) that Alex is creating what are you waiting for. There really is something here for everyone. Some lovely natural light, a plethora of studio lights and modifiers and some well thought out sets. Alex is always welcoming and does a mean brew. In addition to that the models he gets in for his studio days are top notch. He puts a lot of thought and effort into keeping the studio running and it's well worth a visit.

Another Fantastic studio day at Map Studios yesterday with lots of lovely photographers. The new studio is looking good so far and the undecorated rooms are great for an urbex style shoot. As ever Alex was super helpful and hospitable setting up the day. Looking forward to going back next year :) Highly recommended.
