References for Ghost Light Photography

Worked with James for the first time in Bristol at Eyebox Studios whilst I was holding a studio day in the area.

I found James to be friendly, polite and professional and respectful.

We had a 3 hour shoot which seemed to whizz by but in that time we created some great shots , James scoped out the studio and we started off with some simplistic natural light shots which we got some great results.

James was not afraid to experiment and try different lighting set ups , from beauty dish, to gels to natural light, we made use of the space and lighting and got some stunning shots ) my favourites in particular being some of the gel lighting and natural light body shots ).

James is a very professional and nice person and I felt relaxed and comfortable with him throughout our shoot.

I would happily recommend him to other Models without hesitation and I look forward to working with him again sometime and seeing the final results :)

I have admired Jame's work for some time now, and I was delighted when he messaged me to arrange a booking. We shot at my house on Sunday, covering a range of styles.

James is awesome, not only was communication before and during the shoot spot on but he was puntual, creative, professional and easy to work with. (Apologies for my delayed replies and my naughty puppy)

I would highly recommend James to any model and I hope to have to opportunity to work with with on future projects!

My second shoot with James and as before was a total pleasure!

When our original plans of shooting outside were spoilt James quickly adapted and came up with sets for shooting indoors instead. We worked our way through a few different looks and from what I saw on the back of the camera, and indeed the photos he has put up so far too, we got some real crackers!

He is always a joy to work for, really friendly and great company.

Highly recommended and hopefully will get to shoot outside with him in the future!! :)

Had another absolutely excellent shoot with James last month! As always his pre-shoot communications were fantastic, he kept me very well informed of his plans for the day and all the styles he wanted to cover. He turned up bang on time to meet me at the station and as usual greeted me with a big friendly smile and my favourite food (pringles and bourbons)!

James as always makes sure a model is fed, warm and happy on a shoot, as I mentioned previously he even goes the extra mile and brings my favourite snacks to a shoot, which is always appreciated!! James is always a good laugh, very friendly and great person to have on a shoot. He is very dedicated to his photography and comes prepared with props, it is lovely to see how passionate he is about his images and this in turn makes the shoot excited and dynamic!

James is very skilled with a huge range of lighting set ups, he also uses very cool theatre lights, something I have never encountered before, as a result he is able to produce truly unique and very lovely shots with them! When shooting James works very rapidly and efficiently, you can achieve some many different sets and get some many great results on a shoot with him, just fab!

Overall it was another lovely day working with James, he is consistently a friendly, fun and skilled photographer whom I would recommend to anyone!

He Came with idea's , He executed them perfectly, The Results where incredible!

I couldn't believe the talent before my eyes as i watched him effortlessly move round the studio using everything it had to offer, the doors, mirrors, backdrops, ladders, benches and more! The Quality of the man is staggering, Lovely to talk to and an incredible photographer, i personally want james back as much as possible because i learnt things by just watching him, Was a fantastic experience Meeting him and hopefully it will continue to Blossom.

What a treat to finally shoot with the inimitable Ghost Light! I was very much looking forward to spending a couple of hours in front of James’ camera and it didn’t disappoint.

His communication prior to the shoot were tip-top, and he had a very clear and concise idea of what he wanted to shoot. On the day we got right down to brass tacks – he was ready to rock and roll right away, which is exactly what we did!

I love the way he works, very free-flowing and laid back but uber-productive at the same time. We absolutely blitzed through the sets we’d worked out and I was chuffed as chips with what I saw on the back of the camera.

We had such a blast and I can HIGHLY recommend shooting with Ghost Light if you have the opportunity… and if you don’t, then MAKE the opportunity!

Ghost Light - has been liking my photos since the beginning of time; I know he is an enthusiastic & valued member of PurplePort & passionate about photography - this was evident before we worked together, but I'm so glad we managed to squeeze in a half day shoot during my last West Country tour :)

GL is thoroughly pleasant to work with - we worked together fluidly, bouncing ideas around & having a laugh too; he's open to versatile styling & we covered so many different sets, many of which look like they weren't shot on the same day! Results are stunning so far; he is creative with light & angles, and I would be honoured to work with him again some day.. thanks for a great shoot! Highly recommended x

I was lucky enough to work with James at a studio day in stafford, his pre communications were excellent. We had planned to do a 4 hour duo shoot with Lizzy Bayliss which was so creative and fun, James let us put our own ideas in and he was really easy to shoot with. After lunch I had a 1-2-1 hour shoot with him also which was equally delightful.

I found James to be polite, professional and friendly. I would definitely work with James again and hopefully we will be able to shoot again soon :)

James aloud me to bring my ideas to the table when posing I think between us we got some great images. I look forward to seeing which James put's up online. Recently worked with James within a short but sweet group shoot. Very chatty and friendly and great at giving direction. I felt very at ease with him. I adore the pictures that James has got from those two hours and hopefully will work together again in the near future. I would highly recommend!

A super day out with James last week on the start of my nine day tour!

We crammed in as much as we could and got some brilliant results. The day just flew by and we were both knackered by the end of it but wow, I love what we got and can't wait to see more!

Just like the last time James was spot on with communication, on time and even packed snacks and drinks! He made time for a good lunch break for us and found us some greeeeat locations to work in. We avoided the general public in all our locations and were very lucky with the weather. It couldn't have gone better!! :D

I can't wait to see the rest of the results and I hope to work with James again one day :) :)

Snaps Studios

James hired the studio for a model shoot and although held up with his plans to explore the studio in detail by traffic arrived ready to start shooting straight away. With his very approachable manner the model who he had not met before was at ease and they settled into their four hour shoot. James left the studio as he found it and from our conversions afterwards achieved all that he set out too and more.

With a great personality and a keen eye I would recommend James to any model to shoot with or studio owner renting facilities knowing that respect will be given to either the person or the equipment.

I applied for a casting call that James put out and was so pleased to hear that I had been accepted. I was so excited by looking at the quality of James' portfolio that I couldn't wait to get started, and he really didn't disappoint.

James is a true professional, highly knowledgable in sensual and artistic lighting and when I looked at our photos during the shoot I was blown away.

He is down to Earth, easy going, a perfectionist (always good) and genuinely a real pleasure to work with, I hope we get to shoot together again soon.

Excellent pre-shoot communications from James- everything necessary was covered, and in good time before the shoot- fab! I felt very relaxed about shooting due to his professional and considerate manner before and excellent references, and it was indeed a total pleasure. I'll just mention 2 good things about working with James... Firstly, I like James's style, natural light nudes are my favourite genre :>) Secondly, OMG, he bought me yummy things to eat- checking beforehand what I liked and I explained I'm gluten free and I got gluten free JAFFA CAKES!! Wooo!! Thankyou :>)

Had another really wonderful shoot with James yesterday!! As usual his pre-shoot communications were great, kept me fully up to speed with what he wanted to do and informed me of the props/clothing he needed me to bring! Despite travelling a long way he turned up bang on time and raring to go!

Throughout the shoot James was very fun, friendly and easy to work with, time just seemed to fly by! He is very creative and able to adapt to a variety of different settings and experiments really well with using different angles and crops! James has a great understanding of light and uses it perfectly to sculpt a model and make her look her best! He also gets really stuck into a shoot and shows real commitment in getting the best shot possible, even if that means getting covered in scratches from bushes or getting cobwebs/mud over him!!

We got some really lovely results, with very different moods and styles, it was a highly productive, fun and enjoyable shoot! Can't wait till next time and I thoroughly recommend him! :)

He had a range of ideas he wanted to work on during our time together, explained what he wanted and them just let me flow and move around how I felt best fitted what he was after.
