Ivory Flame

Recently worked in-person for the second time with James during my model day at Inspire Studios. We managed to shoot a range of very different looks in the time, from gel lighting experimentation, to body paint and futuristic styled fashion with my wig and quirky outfits, to great effect!

I find James is pretty minimal with feedback whilst he is concentrating hard on getting the shots and settings right, but he is professional throughout, very detailed in pre-comms and always very positive after the shoot. The final results are really fab as James does a fantastic and thorough job with the editing :-)

Gem

I shot with James at an event before, so this was my first 1 on 1 with him. and a Remote shoot on top of that! He sent me some brilliant ideas to work with, and asked if I was okay to shoot in my bath. And I was up for the challenge! Shoot went very well, we got loads done, so many different ideas. And the bath was the icing on the cake. Brilliant to shoot with, very much recommended!

Ivory Flame

I had a very productive 4 hour remote shoot with James recently that went really well. James had plenty of ideas and we worked out a detailed shoot plan to use as a guide to make the most of the time. I was happy to take on the challenge and we got through 5 different sets in my humble home studio space.

James was professional and considerate throughout, experienced in the remote technique and asserting his preferences of the styling and set options so that we could build the images together in collaboration. His communication was clear in both emails and during the shoot. I really love the edits so far!! Happily recommended both remotely and in person.

I had a wonderful first shoot with James and I'd highly recommend him.

Communication came easily and he was completely on board with one of my many projects I hope to work on this year.

He could give direction easily and as required but was also happy for me to free-flow.

James pushes creativity in all of the correct ways, he knew and completely respected my levels at all times (with regular intervals to review the images) but by his knowledge and clever use of angles, gave us a whole new playing field.

Looking forward to seeing the final images and I'd be honoured to work with James again in the future on other projects.

James booked a remote shoot and took the time to put together a moodboard on Pinterest and a listed plan to give the shoot some focus. On the day, once connected, I found James to be a very calm person, he got along with the technical aspects quickly and easily, allowing us to simply focus on lighting and styling each theme. Working at a nice steady pace since James booked extra time, more than I'm used to, so that we could take our time and get plenty done. I loved the ideas and love what we acheived. I have no hesitation recommending James.

Ghost Light Photography was a delight to work with! I had the honour of giving him his first remote photoshoot experience! Ghost Light Photography promptly responded throughout all communications and learnt the virtual photoshoot process at ease. He was very patient when my assistant and I had to make any adjustments to the setups, lighting, etc. Ghost Light Photography was also understanding and willing to creatively brainstorm different photoshoot ideas when location logistics were changed on us. Overall, he was a laid back, reliable, and respectful photographer who enjoyed working with the flow of the photoshoot environment. I would highly recommend Ghost Light Photography! :)

After what felt like ages James and I finally got to shoot again (yay) this time with Carla Monaco joining us!!

James scouted a really nice location and were blessed with a mild day so we got the chance to shoot a nice mixture of autumnal fashion and nudes!!

We had some giggles as always- almost being caught out and witnessing a magical white dog running about..!

The two hours flew by!

I was chuffed to bits when James responded to my casting call - I have always wanted to work with him, and I've heard so much good stuff said about him - including other models' recommendations. My other thought was 'Oh shit, he's worked with all the best models on PP - how on earth can I live up to standards like that?'... Fortunately, I'm relieved to report, my concerns of not being good enough soon melted away along with the pre-shoot nerves and it was a very enjoyable shoot! :)

Pre-comms were excellent - we decided to shoot in an area that I didn't know that well, so we both put our heads together on Messenger and searched for good places to shoot. That was great fun in itself - I love a bit of online location scouting / detective work - and it was really good to have the photographer so involved too. It also helped break the ice a little before we actually met in person.

James is very easy going and I didn't feel pressure in any way - he was easy to talk to and I could just be myself. I found him to be very polite, respectful, and professional. It was a relaxed shoot, explorative, but it flew by just way too quickly - I would have liked more time to really get into the flow a bit more!

There are photographers who I know are not especially creative and generally for them I will only create very 'posed' poses - strong art nude shapes for example - because any poses that are more naturalistic or emotive are never captured from the right angle. James is not one of those photographers! I knew with James I could create some more expressive poses and he would capture them just right. My favourite image from our shoot has that raw and natural feel to it that suits me so well - and I love that he caught that emotion so perfectly. It's not always an easy thing to do. I'd definitely like to explore that some more if and when we do shoot again because it's good to shoot something that has a bit of depth to it.

Well I can of course whole-heartedly recommend working with James! He said he was interested in shooting again with me next year so if that happens then I'm very much looking forward to part 2!

In addition to what I've put in my reference for James as 'Leaf'.... I'd also like to add that part of my casting call was for photographers to have a go at modelling themselves, and to be part of my Male Nudes Project. James volunteered for this, and this helped to kickstart my project.

I can't honestly thank James enough for this! Not only in the bravery of modelling nude for me - having never done anything like this before... but also in the fact that he was happy to be tagged and named in the images - and even to help promote the project or answer any questions from others on the project. This has meant so much to me (especially I was expecting everyone to want to be anonymous for a start!). James's feedback and support has been invaluable. The whole shoot just gave me such a boost. I came away with a clearer idea of what I want to do and why I want to do it.

I was ridiculously nervous when photographing James - it was well out of my comfort zone. But we were both pushing ourselves to do this part of the shoot - a new challenge for the both of us, in different ways.

I've got absolute respect for any photographer that rises to my challenge of location modelling - and James did so well! Confident in his own skin, brave and tenacious enough to push himself despite the discomfort and the cold. The images we created are beautiful. The feedback I have had from them has been incredible - these images are so different - and I'm so proud to have these as part of my project!

It's always good to work with photographers who understand what it's like to be modelling nude on location, out in the cold and on uncomfortable or wet surfaces - so although I don't think James will be opening a modelling account (he's already had requests though!), it's just another reason why I'd recommend him as a photographer! :)

I'm hoping a part two may happen at some point in the future - as I'd like to photograph James again - I think in the water next time!

Well I'll just go ahead and recommend James as a model too. You never know! :)

James had responded to my casting and we shot at Dave's studio - given that I had to come straight from work to the studio to get ready, I appreciate James' patience and understanding of the situation! We got straight to work as precomms were great and we both knew what we wanted from the shoot!

James has a wonderful eye for beautiful, abstract shots and we went through a variety of sets in the span of three hours and we got so many beautiful images! James's commitment to the images we took and the efforts he went through to get some of the shots were phenomenal and I have to give him massive credit for that!

I look forward to seeing the images and I'd definitely love to work with him again! and I can wholeheartedly recommend him to every model who wants some beautiful images to use!

Yesterday I had my first ever shoot with James at Combe Hill Wood for photos to be added into my portfolio and I had so much fun. He made me feel very comfortable and didn't push me to do anything I didn't feel comfortable with. He is a lovely guy and very easy to work with. I really enjoyed our shoot together and I look forward to doing some more in the future. James was so nice and helpful, giving me lots of great advice towards modeling and made me feel very positive about the whole experience. He is a fantastic photographer who really seems to know what he's doing, I would 100% recommend him.

I had the chance to work with James again today on my first model day back since lockdown, its been a while since we last worked together, but as before James was polite and friendly and just lovely to work with, James and I experimented with some different ideas and lighting, and from what I could see on the back of camera got some cracking images.

James is so easy to work with and get along with that the time just flew by.

I’d been wanting to work with James for a long time and really chuffed when he booked four hour at my studio day at Millhouse Studio.

We packed a lot into the four hours with a variety of art nude looks, working with both natural light and studio lights. I was very impressed with James’ angles and composition and he really knows how to get the light right.

One of the highlights of the shoot was a set we did using his new Polaroid camera! Something a bit different for me and lots of fun!

In short, James is a delight to work with and a really good photography so of course he comes highly recommended from me and I hope to work with him again this year.

James came to the studio for the first time, filling last minute cancellation on Ivory Flame's studio day, and it was a pleasure to meet him. He is knowledgeable about lighting and was soon shooting with Holly and getting the most out of his couple of hours with her. James was very respectful of the studio and equipment and a genuine nice guy. Hope to see him back again.

I had a fab first shoot with James this weekend on a model day at Inspire Studios! I found him professional, respectful, friendly and easy going. He had filled a cancellation quite last minute, so although he hadn't had chance to plan much, it was no problem as we just went with the flow.

James shot some absolutely gorgeous images, covering a great range of genres and beautiful lighting set ups!

I had a good experience working with him and can recommend him to others. Would be great to get chance to work with him more in the future :-)

Had another great shoot with James last week! As usual, his pre-shoot communications were great, he gave me a clear idea of what he wanted to achieve in the shoot and discussed potential props with me. He arrived bang on time and from the get go was friendly, fun and easy to get along with :)

James brought with him a really great new light and a series of gobos, this allowed us to have a really creative experimental shoot which was great fun! James is very confident and happy to test out new ideas and techniques and it means he gets images that are truly unique! James is also very skilled with lighting and moves with ease throughout a studio :)

James as always is very aware of a models comfort and ensured that he brought a selection of snacks, he also made sure we took plenty of breaks and that I wasn't too cold!

In all, James is a lovely person as well as great photographer, I had yet another fun shoot and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him!

Another fantastic shoot with James, this time during my recent tour in the West Country.

James very kindly collected me and dropped me back. We drove to a wonderful location that had so much scope and the weather was well and truly on our side, thankfully. :)

Always well prepared and planned, James makes shoots with him a real joy. He is lovely company, interesting to talk to and serious about his photography.

We were challenged at times with the numbers of passers-by but I believe we still managed to achieve some great results, which we constantly reviewed throughout our shoot.

Highly recommended! :D

James booked me for a 4 hour location shoot on my South West UK tour.

His initial communications were good and I knew when and where we would be shooting beforehand.

The location he had picked was sensational, beautiful, idyllic and haunting, absolutely perfect for the art nudes we had planned.

James himself was friendly, polite and brought water and snacks along which was appreciated on the hot day.

He has a good relaxed style of shooting and I loved what I saw on camera.

I hope we shoot together again on my next tour In the area!

I LOVED working with James, yayyyy!!

Absolutely recommend, he's so genuine and I feel really good working with him.

I felt relaxed, natural, happy....totally unhurried, and yet we really hit our stride, got in the flow, and covered lots to get a variety of great shots..a true collaboration, reviewing together and agreeing what was working and what wasn't...

Two things I really like that helped me to feel good working with James:

1/He's good so I know he's going to find the best angles, work with the light, be creative so the shots will be cool and not tacky...

2/I'm never feeling pushed in terms of my personal space or sensuality

So the result of this was that I felt safe, free, empowered, confident, and spontaneously made more sensual images....

It's a big hellll yeahhhhh from me x x x
