References for Ghost Light Photography

I got to shoot with James whilst I was down in Exeter for my last Southern tour - he is such a lovely, gentle and compassionate fellow, who's way with the camera is just exquisite!

I love shooting with him because he knows his stuff, the way he uses natural light is inspiring and his editing is just amazing!

I can't recommend this fantastic photographer enough to all, thank you so much for shooting me before I retire - it's been an honour :)

Roswell Ivory

Another awesome shoot with James! I always love working with him as he's such a creative person, finding a new way of shooting the surroundings. This time, it was the home of my co-model Rogue. We shot several different styles both solo and as a duo and captured some fantastic images (so many that we just 'had to' snap in the back of the camera!) :D

He's a very chilled-out relaxed person, easy to have a chat and a laugh with in between shots, and happy to hear our ideas as well as supply lots of his own.

Really looking forward to working together again and as always, recommended to all! :)

I had a shoot with James at my home. I modelled solo and alongside Roswell Ivory. James arrived on time with great energy and full of ideas. We shot a huge range of very different styles within our 4 hour shoot time. We achieved loads of great images and the shoot just flew by. James is very relaxed and easy to work with making the whole time really enjoyable. I'd definitely work with James again and happily recommend him!

Another fab shoot with James :D

This time at my airbnb apartment in Wells. The shoot was super relaxed, when James arrived we chatted and discussed ideas for a while whilst his camera equipment de-misted from being out in the cold haha!

When we got going the results were amazing from the very first shot! We covered a variety of styles and from what I saw on the back of the camera I can't wait to see some final images go up :D

Ghostlight attended my first ever studio day in Burnhma on sea and we had an aboluste blast of a time, got through 8 sets n 4 hours and we got a couple of FPIs from it, which were well deserved.. so i was really excited to see him approach me again asking if i wanted to do a home studio shoot at my house in Yate.

We had minimal ideas but absolutely no worries as i think we both knew that it would be sucessful anyway!.. and damn, were we right!

We knew we'd be doing a shower set and that went really well, we were both really happy with the outcome and each set was brilliant, just worked wonderfully, the lighting was perfectly mastered by James. Its just absolutely in your face obvious that James has talent, his framing and lighting are the absolute WOW stand outs to me.. He does it so effortlessly but it comes out looking extraordinary. he knows the hints and tricks for how to make an image the most effective and i just loved watching him at work and learning myself.

He is very very respectful and i felt 100% comfortable in his company for the second time, and all his references can back me up there!

Absolute pleasure, cant work to work together again!

Leon Lift

I had the absolute pleasure in shooting with this lovely gentleman with my partner Tillie down in Glastonbury whilst we was touring there.

James's work style was really relaxed. He had a good look around the studio upon arrival scoping out possibilities for ideas with what was available and he certainly impressed with his spontaneous creativity as every set we shot, we nailed!

Another great point I must make is that James will always pass you the camera between sets to review the images which I'm a massive fan of as you can see what is and isn't working allowing you to put your own input in and build upon the shots already taken in order to try and better them (if you can).

Overall James is a great photographer and overall really nice guy. You'll feel super comfortable in his presence and you'll be guaranteed to have a great shoot with him.

I can highly recommend him to anyone that may wish to shoot with him in future.

Rose Magdalene Child

Another shoot with James today whilst touring the South-West again, this time with my partner LeonLift. We shot at a fantastic studio in Ilminster called The Millhouse Studio.

We all arrived early and had a good natter about ideas over a cup of tea. It was a 'go with the flow' kind of day with a slight preference on outfits/styling.

From the offset the natural light images were..well perfect! James had set his camera up spot on right from the very first shot! :D We shot a mix of solo and duo images throughout the 4 hours and every set was epic!

James is a lovely person, so easy-going and friendly. He brought along snacks for us both too & we all shared lunch together afterwards!

He certainly took some of our favourite duo images to date!

I highly recommend him to other models :)

I finally got to work with Ghost Light Photography this weekend during my studio day at the fabulous Studio58bristol!

James's communication with me had been excellent and we had many ideas of what we wanted to create together.

During our time working, James has a wonderfully patient and considerate attitude as well as an eye for detail and 'quality over quantity' approach!

We produced about 8 different sets of images in our time shooting and I am very excited to see ant of them soon!😊

I worked with James again just yesterday- this time on the last "Secret Garden" event of 2018!

As always, James is super to work with. He worked really well with the three other photographers and I love the results I saw on the back of the camera.

I really did enjoy the evening- the shooting, but also the mini social afterwards too. Was lovely to work with James again.

I had a brilliant first shoot with James at Mr Dave's in Exeter! We had excellent communications before and knew what we wanted to achieve, and I think we did that!

We got through 8 sets, which included me being soaked like a drowned rat lol, but the photos and the banter was absolutely worth it! James very much looked after me and was a gentleman at all times.

Looking forward to seeing the final results, but the back of camera shots were stunning! Would love to work with James again, highly recommended!

Sorry for the obscenely late reference! Jame is a joy to work with and talk to. We went to an absolutely stunning location in Gloucestershire and in between dodging dog walkers and challenging light, we shot a range of fashion and art-nude, which looked amazing. Just from the back-of-camera shots it was clear we had shot something special.

James came well-prepared with extra water and snacks for me, and as well as being a fantastic photographer, is chilled-out, interesting to talk to and comes highly recommended by me! :)

My first shoot with James & what a pleasure it was. Pre-shoot comms were excellent. On the day we had a little hiccup as our first location had far too many spectators for us to risk so we headed to the second option, James took this all in his stride and kept his cool even though it must have been disheartening to begin with.

However, it proved to have been 'meant to be' when we took a long stroll through the woods and kept stumbling across awesome shoot locations that even James had not seen before. We took advantage of this and captured some amazing images.

James was super thoughtful and brought along snacks for the shoot which I was very grateful for and the shoot was relaxed but very enjoyable.

I'm looking forward to working with him again so he's definitely recommended from me

James is always a pleasure to work with, he has a fabulously confident way with the camera, shooting all angles beautifully and constantly moving, setting the scenes for some epic looking images indeed!

He came to shoot myself and the beautiful Sinopa Rin during our duo event and he definitely captured the grand spirit of the location, working the natural light in the most perfect way :)

I can’t recommend this wonderful photographer enough, he is super professional and he knows what he is doing, the images look amazing :)

My second shoot with James; this time working as a duo with Jezebelle at a stunning location in Dorset. As before, James' pre-comms were excellent which made packing nice and easy, and on the day we worked through loads of sets with enthusiasm and creativity. James creates a lovely laid-back atmosphere as well as beautiful images, and I look forward to seeing the results. Recommended!

James and I worked together again at my home in Chippenham, alongside the beautiful Emma Willis on one of my duo days recently!

We were a little unlucky with the natural light within the house to start off with as it was a dull day but Emma suggested we used Rogers lights- so we did- and it worked! :)

James always takes fantastic photographs seemingly effortlessly- I always love the results and also his method of shooting, which is in bursts! I work best this way - working fluidly and constantly moving around,finding angles that work well and naturally- so the resulting photograph looks really natural and less posed.

Emma also managed to find James' magic sense of humour by suggesting that we play "Avenue Q" music, of which James knew all of the words. I have never seen him so animated and in his element- he was singing and dancing!! So there you are models and creatives- give James Avenue Q music on a shoot! :P

James is a pleasure to work with,very professional and great fun- every shoot is really enjoyable. I especialley loved the wet hair shots- and the set taken in the shower! :)

I am really looking forward to seeing the images,they looked beautiful on the back of the camera! I would recommend James to everyone.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with James yesterday at my studio day at Rooi's place in Bristol. James had booked the last couple of hours and I'm so glad that he did, he is a really nice friendly guy with great ideas. He put me at ease straight away just by meeting him, he has very kind eyes and a true gentleman.

The shoot itself was bloody brilliant! I really enjoyed trying out his ideas and trying to get the best results possible, we did some bodyscapes which I haven't done in ages, thank you! James is a bloody good photographer who is thoughtful and has a really good eye. From what I saw on the back of camera we nailed it. I am so happy to have had the chance to shoot with James and I certainly hope it is not the last!

Highly recommended to all models and creatives, thanks again for such a great shoot.
