I recently did the first of two model days, underwater with Erica. I’m probably not going to be able to add much to the mountain of glowing praise for her work, but I would like to affirm that it’s all extremely true, both on land and underwater. Erica is graceful in movement, dedicated and wonderful. She’s a fabulous person to work with, has amazing endurance and it’s almost impossible to take a bad photo of her.

The whole day felt like a breeze with her careful pre planning and the amount of fun we had - and that’s saying something as several hours underwater isn’t the easiest thing!

11/10 - can’t wait for the next one!

Erica and I have shot together many times now and it is always an absolute joy :-) I always marvel at her technique, artistry and sheer stamina as we work through many lovely static and dynamic positions.

I’m not used to working with models and felt I was struggling with my camera in the certain light conditions. I am past counting how many times I have shot with Erica but it’s a few and there will be at least 2, if not 3 more this year. Preshoot comms were limited on this one as Erica had been engaged by Tabitha Boydell. What we had was of the usual high standard and the same goes for the shoot itself.

As I have said before Erica is a consummate professional and if you treat her with the respect she deserves you will get some fabulous images.

Another event organised by Erica which this time combined a shoot, some tips on how to get the best images from dancers and some post tips from Phil of The Boardroom.

As always everything about a shoot with Erica was exceptional from pre-shoot comms to the shoot and a quick response to a post comm.

I decided to shoot only on a Takumur vintage 28mm lens on a MFT body and although the images are a lot softer than with a modern lens, I like the feel they give.

I think this was shoot 6 or 7 with Erica and we have 3 more booked this year (so far) so it won’t come as a surprise that I will recommend working with this lovely dancer, model and woman.

I attended the workshop Erica held at the Boardroom in Derby. Having never photographed a dancer before I was anxious about trying but Erica was extremely helpful in explaining how to to go about it and made everyone feel relaxed and able to achieve good results. I attended Erica’s workshop at the boardroom in Derby , I’ve never had the experience to shoot a dancer nor ballet to be honest. I found this very informative from a model/dancer perspective. I’d never had known to think about things from their skill set.

Yes as a photographer I want the best of my images and my vision to come to life but after this workshop I’ll be working on my knowledge of the moves, names and will ask my dancers on their thoughts before the actual shoot.

Planning everything will be the most important part of any shoot so that on the day it should 😁 flow.

However working with Erica, amazing she knows her stuff and so very confident in each move. Erica is so kind and it is always lovely to work with someone who understands us as a photographer too.

You can tell that Erica has been doing this along time.

Erica was my co-host at the 'Dance Photography Tuition and Editing Tips' event. Her knowledge of dance and her ability to offer valuable tips and guidance to the attendees were truly impressive. We all had a great time learning about different ballet moves, a bit of history, and plenty of useful modeling insights. Her passion for dance and her commitment to sharing her knowledge with the group were clear throughout the event. The group gave excellent feedback about the valuable insights they gained from her. I highly recommend Erica for dance-related events or workshops. Her professionalism and expertise are top-notch.

I had the pleasure of working with Ballerina Erica Mulkern for the first time on a 1-2-1 at the Shapeshifter studio in Warrington. Pre shoot comms were perfect (organised, prompt, and informative). Erica arrived early giving us time to chill with a brew and plan out the session. She came very well prepared with a super selection of outfits that fitted her style and my requests from her online catalogue.

Erica is genuinely such a lovely chilled and easy going person with so much talent, creativeness, and passion about her craft. It was such a chilled and relaxed shoot as if we had worked together many times before. Throughout the shoot Erica was full of positive energy putting 110% effort into every shot, Erica not only poses effortlessly but she has an amazing eye for the fine details ensuring she brings any concept to life with an amazing Wow factor.

This was our second shoot with Erica (the first was at the Chester Crowne Plaza in December 2023 and this time we had booked her to work at our studio in Llandudno for the whole weekend and we were blown away by Erica's professionalism and knowledge.

Erica worked hard to ensure that our 5 delegates got all the images that they wanted to build their portfolio - over two full days of photography. We loved it how she would explain to a photographer why a photo would work better if she/they did this (having a professional dancer makes all the difference) or did that...

Communication was spot on - styling, clothing and accessories were superb and Erica was always ready to go!

We've already got Erica booked for another 2 shoots (in Chester) and we cannot wait.
