About me:

In the world of fleeting moments and ephemeral expressions, I stand as a guardian of memories, a photographer whose passion transcends the mere act of capturing images. To me, photography is an intimate dance with colour, light and shadow, a delicate touch on the essence of a person’s soul...

In a studio, where dreams are caught, lives a photographer, known as Cheeky Monkey. With a lens for an eye and a heart full of art, capturing beauty and soul, he plays his part…

I am a Photographer with over 28 years’ experience in the industry, behind the lens as well as studio management and events planning and management. Im extensively published internationally and in the UK. I currently work with various magazines covering specific styles such as Ink, Bikini, Fashion etc. Note: Please expect that various images from our time working together may be published unless we agree otherwise prior to working together.

Thankfully I have been able to eventually return to my favourite passion after having time  away due to life changing events. I work from several creative spaces mainly on my own concepts and ideas which keeps me out of mischief but Im more than happy to collaborate with others on interesting projects. 

What I enjoy working on:

I am interested in all styles and concepts, especially working with Models who have an enthusiastic 'Can do' attitude and approach to creating excellent results for all concerned. I enjoy working with both experienced and newer models with the intention of producing creative and unique images for our portfolios, ensuring that any shoots are fun as well as productive.

I decided in 2023 that i would focus more on my own concepts and projects starting out with the Shabby Chic concept which was great fun and had great popularity being published over 80 times including 5 Front Covers. This was such a fun concept enjoyed by both the models that worked on the concept as well as myself it will be a project that naturally continues into 2024.

• An Artists Impression ~ Various concepts including abstract textured and lighting as well as more mythical ideas both studio and location focused.
• 'Dance' ~ Various concepts including both Traditional and modern styles both in studio and on location.
• 'A moment in time'~ Various
• Making headlines – Various location concepts striving to put the models in the headlines.
• 'A Gothic Tale' ~ Various location and studio concepts.
• "Transformation"~ The journey toward s competition.
• Du monochrome à la couleur ~ The journey from the dark to the light.
• Soulscapes ~ Capturing the essence through the lens.

What you can expect from me:

I am a reliable, professional, relaxed, and courteous person: My 200 plus references confirm models, studios and MUA will receive patience, kindness, and mutual respect. I am both creative and highly organised, so value good pre-shoot communications are key due to suffering brain injury it takes time to plan and develop my projects. I do have a great sense of fun which most models value – shoots with me are rarely boring; and I enjoy working with some of my ‘favourites’ on a ‘regular’ basis.

I am happy to have pre shoot meets to discuss plans and ideas. I always welcome any new crazy or unusual ideas. I never expect a model to work for nothing, I am happy to pay reasonable fees, travel cost contributions and will always give a selection of images as a bonus if requested.

I’m more than happy to assist anyone who wishes to start a Portfolio / update their Portfolio or to discuss any interesting ideas that they would like to try.

I am very pro active about having the model input to the concept including lighting suggestions etc as every day's a school day and non of us know it all.

Note: With my 2024 projects being more involved and involving more people such as body painters, MUA’s and stylists I will be running shoot plans for these which will contain all the information about the shoot plus links to examples and suggested pose ideas etc and who is doing what plus any time dependent activities. This will be shared with all parties, so everyone is clear on all aspects. I am happy to fully explain the process if your not sure.

What I expect from you:

Professionalism and mutual respect, I simply expect others to treat me as they would like to be treated themselves. I always use the diary invite function on PP and Shoot Plan function and expect others to reply promptly and follow up promptly within a reasonable time. I rely upon good prompt pre shoot communications to ensure I have time to process information and plan the structure and flow of the shoot, I am now not able to plan on the spot and shoot from the hip so to speak due to the impact or brain injury.

Note: if timely responses are not made then please expect shoot invites to be deferred to a later date or even cancelled if responses are very poor. It’s better to pause and plan properly than rush ahead with poor planning and waste all parties time and not get the desired results.   

Where am I based:

I am based at my own creative space, the exciting ever evolving "The Monkey Sanctuary" located in Warrington, only a short trip from both the centrally located train stations. I am also more than happy to also work on location concepts  and ideas but have some limitations due to mobility challenges due to medical conditions.
