8pm.. more clapping for our NHS workers.. great, wonderful. Apparently it will become a regular weekly thing. Of course I clapped, but..
'Imagine living in a country where the Govt devastated the health services meaning nurses and doctors didn't have protective gear during a pandemic but because a few Govt ministers did a bit of clapping the population was like "oh how wonderful and generous is our Govt."
Jeremy Corbyn was attacked every day in the November 2019 General Election campaign for saying the internet is an essential utility, key workers need better pay, and nothing is more important than the NHS. Yet today, who can disagree with him? Seems this pandemic is turning everyone into a socialist.' - The Pileus
Today was the deadline for voting in a new Labour leader. As a Labour Party member, I have been agonising over this for weeks. My heart has consistently been with Rebecca Long-Bailey, yet it's blindingly obvious Keir Starmer has more chance of actually being voted into power during an election specifically because of his soft left socialist manifesto.
It's so incredibly difficult to vote for a candidate you know is not totally in line with your views but who you know might actually stand a chance of kicking the Tories out - but it's even harder to not stand by your true political beliefs, so I voted, with confidence, for Rebecca with Angela Rayner as deputy.
Jeremy Corbyn was a man hounded by the biased British press. Rather than voting to not throw these media outlets new 'hard socialist bait' how about we instead finally hold them to account..
Oh yeah and if this post wasn't unpopular enough in the wider world, this photo is selective colour too 😆
