The 1,000 Foot Drop

OK - it is time to put this image on my port too. The title reflects the fact that Keira is actually looking straight down at a 1,000 feet drop through the gaps in the wooden planking that carries the road across this most beautiful gorge in Crete. I have to confess that I was lying on terra firma when I took the shot. I found it quite unnerving to step out over the gorge, even though my brain told me that I wasn't going to collapse the bridge! It was another of those moments when I should have very much liked to simply stop and admire the beautiful pose that Keira produced in the most wonderful surroundings, but such opportunities don't happen every five minutes and it was therefore more important to shoot the image (and not to get runover in the process). Unsurprisingly, given the skill and sheer beauty of the pose, the bravery of Keira and the incredible location this has to be one of my favourite images from a highly productive (and thoroughly enjoyable) Arts Voyage Event in Crete.
