I was lucky enough to return to this fabulous studio today, and just like the first time I was well looked after! A pleasant warm and clean environment to work in and now that they’ve moved there is plenty more space plus still boasts the extra areas around the factory to shoot from. Ksenia is one of the most personable individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with in this industry and it’s a real joy to see her growing. Her hard work really shines through, visit the studio and see for yourself. I promise you you’ll absolutely return.

Zavod studios is a unique photo studio in the heart of Sheffield. It encompasses a beautiful studio space with everything that you would expect, but offers so, so much more. Within the studio there is a funky black and white wall, a great blank wall which can be changed with an array of different coloured backdrops and also an amazing window offering great natural light for those photographers not quite comfortable with studio lighting. And then there is the rest of the space. A great industrial factory with so many possibility’s. Machinery to pose against, great corridors and amazing stairwells. This really is a gem of a studio and I’ve not even spoken about the amazing host yet. Xenia is an amazing model and she brings all of her experience to her studio. Nothing has been forgotten about. It’s an amazing space with a lovely host and fully deserves all of these lovely reviews.

I had my first shoot at Zavod yesterday and loved every minute of it!

Xenia greeted me with a smile at the door with my photographer for the day.

I have been inspired by Xenia's work and so was thrilled to meet her in person!

Her energy and personality match her stunning work, such a pleasure to be around!

The studio itself was great! Small yes but it had all we needed, not to mention the lovely natural light!

The changing area was incredibly well equipped and had everything you may need, from cotton buds, safety pins to dry shampoo!

The props available were perfect to match any mood, and the factory and surrounding areas within the building had such character and helped me get into the right mindset for my shoot.

I would absolutely recommend Zavod as a studio and Xenia for her welcoming, friendly and just overall inspiring personality.

This is the second time I’ll have used the studio -

On this occasion as a model but previously using the amazing versatile area as a photographer with two models and two make up artists.

Zavod as a studio and Xenia as a person and model have been a huge influence on me and my creative work this year alone (only two shoots in!!) and I cannot wait to come back for more.

No one should be in the least bit surprised that Xenia is making as decided an impact behind the lens as she has done for so many years now in front of it. Much of what can be said about her modelling also goes for her photography: the pictures that she takes are stylish, sexy, and put together with impeccable compositional flair. Xen’s creative and social energy is a force of nature, a bit supernatural if you ask me, if she could bottle and sell it she’d be a gazillionaire. (But perhaps it is for the best that she can't; the world would be entirely unable to handle more than one of her.)

Needless to say she has been a major influence for me as she has for so many others. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be photographed by her as she embarks on her photography career with the same magnetic confidence and clarity with which she models.

I maximally recommend her.

Rapture Photography

This was my third visit to Zavod and I can't speak highly enough of the studio and its fabulous owner, the glorious Xenia.

Always the warmest of welcomes. Always superb organisation - including pre-shoot checks. And always a 'nothing is too trouble' helping hand.

The core studio space is getting quite the reputation for its floor to ceiling windows. Partly frosted (providing privacy) and with period frames, they're a great source of natural light while giving a lovely backdrop.

A newly plastered plain wall, a delightful feature wall and multiple coloroll backdrops give a great range of options in the studio space. Whatever you want/need, Xenia will make damn sure you have it. She's a genuine ball of the most fabulous energy. Her focus, and attention to detail, is second to none.

Due to circumstances out of mine (and Xenia's) control, I didn't get to use the fabulous variety of communal areas within the building this time around. But, rest assured, they're there and freely available to use at your will.

Easy local parking (sometimes directly outside the door if the wind's in the right direction), easy access to the studio so equipment lugging isn't an issue and oodles of character make Zavod the complete studio.

Sprinkle on Xenia's magic dust and there's no finer location.

Very VERY highly recommended x x x.

It was my 2nd time shooting at Zavod and I am still overwhelmed by the space. Not only is there an abundance of creative light, spaces and backdrops - but Xenia hosted an event to shoot with Ellie Mae (my first shoot with Ellie)... not only professional, but loads of fun and nothing is too much trouble. Xenia joined in and helped me shoot Ellie and we managed to capture some epic work. I can't thank you enough Xenia and I am hopeful to shoot with you also again before too long on the ideas mentioned yesterday.

If I could shoot at Zavod everyday then I would, it's an amazing place!

It was my first time at zavod studio it is amazing studio I love it so much studio is full of character the amazing wood floors a lot props lovely windows natural light xenia knows how to set up the studio lights and flashers and the studio for you she such a lovely lady very friendly so lovely to get on with the hospitality was amazing amazing host It will not be my last visit I will definitely be back I 100% highly recommended xenia and her studio to all the photographers and models thanks for the lovely day kind regards ian

It was my first visit to Zavod studio and what a unique place it is! There’s something here for everyone’s tastes. I particularly love natural light and really enjoyed shooting by the window. Outside the studio room it’s industrial, great for urban fashion and you can really get creative here!

Xenia was so welcoming on arrival and made sure we was happy and comfortable. She also got some BTS of me!

The studio was very easy to find too, only an 8-10 minute walk from the station.

This studio is honestly a gem! You should come and it for yourself!

My first time at Zavod Studios and what an absolutely lovely experience. This studio is amazing.

The main room has a focal point of backdrops mixed with natural light and props. To the back is is a small changing with doubles as another amazing space abundant with natural lovely light and focal point of a neon sign that works well for a shoot (with the right model!).

The internal aspects of this space I saw but did not utilise are amazing. The creativity in this area can be photographers desire, I will utilise this area on my next visit.

The upstairs area; small and gritty with amazing light, WOW!

The host/studio owner, Xenia, is utterly delightful. Xenia showed me around the studio and even assisted in the shoot. I actually didn't mind Xenia being present during the shoot. For me it was beneficial to gage Xenia's view of what we had created.

Thank you for time, patience and being there for both the model and myself. A truly lovely studio and host.

Zavod studio feels like a creative home from home.

Incredibly professional area allowing total creative independence, and Xenia was at hand for amazing coffees, snacks and just a wonderful companion when needed.

As a natural light photographer I’d never actually used a studio, or studio lighting and other equipment and she was so so soooo helpful and more than willing to get involved if needed.

I’d love to come back to do more!

My third visit, and yet again everything was spot on. Even the funky Russian cover of Katy Perry's Hot and Cold.

A Shot in the Dark

Zavod is such a great studio! It's well equipped and so easy to get to :)

My favourite thing is the wonderful natural light you get!

It's a really versatile space and I was able to set up little sets and areas to shoot.

I'd absolutely recommend using Zovod and I'll definitely go there again!

I have once again visited Zavod. This i think was my 4th visit and let me tell you. You cannot go wrong with this little big studio. Everything you need is there plus more. Everything you want to achieve you can plus more... Xenia model rules... Whether she is the host of an event or she is there to be to model and she is great one too, or she is just there to assist with what ever you want to achieve. this is a pace you sould visit. i left with plenty to share once again.

Booked Zavod studio for a personal shoot and it did not dissapoint. Xenia is easy to communicate with and very professional, she provided all the details for the location, so it was easy to book and find it.

She has made us welcome and offered her assistance with my shoot, which was very kind of her and helpful to me.

The studio is within a factory, which works great for industrial themes, a lot of different backgrounds and spaces to shoot, there are also different backdrops available for a "normal" studio set up and the natural light in there is incredible when it is light outside.

I can highly recommend to try this studio out!

First time shooting in Zavod Studio was a blast! Xenia made us very welcome in her studio and showed around the place, suggesting best light and spots to shoot. It is very different to your normal studio, there are loads of different spaces to create in and there is a standard set up as well where the natural light is absolutely gorgeous!

Xenia was very kind in assisting us with the shoot and was very supportive during our time there.

Would highly recommend trying this studio out!

What a beautiful small with industrial character studio. Zavod has plenty of options for creative day, half-day or just 2 hours!

I recently worked at Zavod studio earlier this month and what a fantastic space, Xenia was also on hand to help if needed which is fab!

The studio is flooded with stunning natural light, with big windows that look great to shoot against.

There is has a variety of backdrops to suit any style and natural wooden floors, for a small space it has endless possibilities, I look forward to coming back again!

Camelot Photography

Due to an unreliable model this was my second attempt to shoot at Xenia's Zavod Studio (must ask her what Zavod means). It is a small space within an old industrial building but on many days of the year it would have nice natural light (yesterday wasn't one such day). I was shooting simple portraits using a single speedlight and it's ideal for that and there a of backdrops available and blinds on windows.

Xenia is a very friendly and helpful studio owner and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I will shoot there again and I'm looking forward to a shoot with Xenia in the summer if not before. Happy to recommend.
