Updated July 19.
Recently returned from my travels, recommencing shoots shortly.
Thank you for looking at my page, I hope you enjoy my work.
My name is Alan, a keen amateur club photographer based in the Bath / Frome area.
After some 7 years general club photography, I became interested in broadening my photographic experience to working with people and lighting: a project I started in Summer of 2016. Since then I have throughly enjoyed meeting and working some truly delightful people and I hope produced some reasonable collaborations.
Early on this journey I discovered a love of working on figurative themes (often dance and gymnastic inspired) and with using the body to contrast with the environment in terms of shape, form, tone and/or texture. I love showing the grace and movement of what the human body can do. However I am also keen to explore many other aspects of photography and am keen to work with anybody who will help me create interesting images and who stretch me. I would like to do more location photography, both inside and outside, and to am always keen to improve my skills with using light (nature and artificial).
I particularly enjoy shoots where there is a good collaborative creative atmosphere. I want my shoots to be fun, productive and, as this is my hobby, above all to be enjoyable for us both. It is the upmost importance to me that we treat each other with respect and dignity and I pride myself that many of my References refer to me as a gentleman or similar. I positively encourage my models to contribute ideas and to be actively involved in deciding what and improving we do during a shoot - if there is something you want to try do please discuss it with me - I am approachable and flexible.
Models - your safety (physical, financial and emotional) is a priority for me, I want you to feel safe and comfortable at all times during a shoot. I endorse the Model Safety Article posted by Jerome Razoir and the video posted by Joceline/Ariel Anderssen. I will not knowingly seek to exploit you or demean you, or to push you to do anything you are uncomfortable with. A shoot goes much better if we are both relaxed and and feel we can trust and openly discuss both what we want to do, and what we don't want to do. If you are concerned about anything during a shoot please let me know at the time, I will respect and work round any concerns you have. In principle I do not work with anyone under 18, but should I agree to do so, I will ask you to bring a responsible adult to be present for the shoot. I will ask for ID if I think you could be under 21.
I do enjoy shooting 'Art Nude'. I hope my Portfolio demonstrates my work to be a respectful celebration of the human form. While my work may encroach into 'sensitively sensuous' at times, I generally don't take sexualised images. I do not restrict myself to nude photography, please don't feel 'nude' is either a prerequisite or an expectation of any shoot with me.
I very much look forward to working with anyone who wants to actively contribute to making interesting, intelligent, striking, beautiful, sensitive, respectful, fun images that we can both be proud of (use adjectives singly or in combination!). Please join in to make our time together enjoyable - bring a smile, bright eyes, a sense of fun, ideas, some props, music and why not try to stretch me a bit too.
I aim to post just one image a day, but to do so most days. The first 27 images on my Port page are my most recent work (roughly my last 4 weeks output) in the order they were posted. After that, images with over 30 loves are shown broadly in order of their 'popularity' (as judged by the PP membership's loves and comments). Less popular images are then hidden after about 9 months but remain available in my Albums.
If you want to know what I look like, this is me - LINK.
