References for Retro Rob

We (AlanJ & FemmeArt) finally had the pleasure of working with duo, Retro Rob and Melany, after having had them in our sights for some time, and what a pleasure it proved to be, too!

Their communications are excellent and both Rob and Melany turned up with superb costumes which fitted the themes perfectly and, we really must say, their attention to detail is second to none. We were also massively impressed, and touched, by the amount of research they did previously in order to give us the very best which they did in spades!

They proceeded to absolutely wow us, not only with their obvious beauty but with their abundant creativity, witty intelligence, considerable acting abilities and their utter commitment to the projects presented. Oh, and if this isn't enough....Rob and Melany are two of the nicest people to work with, appreciative, courteous and generous of spirit and anybody who hasn't worked with them yet is missing a very big trick indeed!

We just can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you Rob and Melany :)

Yesterday saw a second shoot with Rob. Essentially a continuation of our first meeting with Melany.

Shooting at the spacious Cottage Studio which offers all that was needed for the great shapes and poses that the two can form. We worked a good number of different sets from low key shapes through to some themed vintage looks. Impeccable attention to detail to the vintage styling.

We didn't cover all the elements as discussed in precomms (there were many) - but the collaborative approach allowed us all to come away with images that none had envisaged prior to the day. Robs enthusiasm did not falter throughout the day - even when we had to draw the line at one of his ideas (we'll make sure we have the required props next time). Further shoots to follow I think.

If you've not worked with Rob, either solo or with Melany - why not?

I just completed two full days shooting with Rob and enjoyed every minute of it!

I’ve worker with Rob many times before but it never ceases to amaze me how much attention to detail he pays to his vintage outfits and styling. He has plenty of original and brilliant ideas and is very creative whilst being super easy to work with and lots of fun.

He puts everything into his shoots and his enthusiasm and energy never tires. It was a delight to see him working with new photographers and making them feel instantly at ease.

I honestly don’t think there is a model who does vintage better, if you want a really enjoyable shoot with a model who looks like he’s stepped out of the 40s and who is very expressive and adept at story telling then look no further!

I've lot count how many times I've now shot with Rob but each time gets more and more enjoyable! We had a day booked at the awesome Open Space studio and as always Rob arrived with suitcases full of authentic vintage outfits and looks, bags of energy and enthusiasm and lots of creative ideas!

The 8 hours flew by and we covered looks from the tango through to art nude and gangsters. Rob works so well as part of a team and brings out the best in everyone. He's incredibly photogenic and versatile - able to covey such emotive expression and story telling in his vintage work whilst also being able to hold strong and dramatic poses in art nude to show case his awesome physique.

He is friendly, professional and a joy to be around - if you haven't worked with him then I highly recommend that you do as the quality of images that he produces are next level! Thank you Rob I can't wait until next time! :)

I have wanted to work with Melany & Retro Rob for years and finally the day came, the only thing that could hold the shoot back or could be detrimental to the shoot or images would be me.

Right from the get go taking images of Melany & Rob they were smiling and I knew I was not going to disappoint them. I shot over 250 images over 4 hours hours, I continually showed Melany & Rob the images and they said they loved them which gave me great confidence they really loved them.

I am completely blown away by how friendly, approachable, professional, creative, phenomenal, breathtaking, imaginative, and dam right Sensational Models and wonderful they are. I could carry on with the superlatives but I was completely and utterly blown away with the whole shoot and did not ever want it to end.

I have been one of the very lucky Photographers to be able to shoot Melany & Retro Rob from an amazing location with very gifted people around me and the images we captured were nothing short of incredible. If I was never to pick up a camera ever again I can say from my heart as long as I could keep these images I would be forever satisfied.

A huge and hearty thank you to all involved especially you Melany And Retro Rob...... Highly recommend them for so many reasons.

I had a fantastic shoot with Rob and Melany - my second with Rob and first with them both.

I already knew how good a model Rob was so was really looking forward to it, but I was amazed how well these guys work together. The chemistry between them is fantastic and they not only very obviously enjoy it (which makes it enjoyable for everyone!) but they're really professional and go from fun to serious in moments. They're good at acting too!

I had some ideas and so did they and between us came up with great material. They managed several wardrobe changes in the two hours, which also allowed me some solo shoots of each of them. My only regret was not booking them both for a bit longer!

Rob is amazing on his own and wonderful with Melany. See you soon!

I organised a club shoot with Rob last night and everyone had an excellent time and came away with some great shots. It was a pleasure to work with Rob who looked immaculate in his attire. Very friendly and very happy to take direction or no direction.

Would be very happy to book Rob again so the ones who couldn't make last nights shoot won't be so jealous.

Rob and I were hired by Wavepower for a vintage shoot that told a story! As always Rob made a huge effort with the styling to endure everything was right on the day.

We shoot at two locations including a church and a vintage railway and Rob was brimming with ideas, enthusiasm and creativity. Rob is a brilliant model with exceptional story telling abilities, he is expressive and it’s a joy to model with him.

Needless to say Wavepower was over joyed with the results of our duo work and I can wait to model with Rob again!

This was my second shoot with the amiable and creative Retro Rob, each have been enjoyable and productive, and they were also rather different in character. This shoot was a period costume duo shoot with the equally brilliant Melany. It was also the second time we have all worked together.

In ths case the shoot had a particular purpose which required jointly working up how we could approach it in terms of outfits and locations. The two of them work so well together and from well before the actual shoot helped develop ideas and options. As a result of the detailed pre-shoot planning, Rob arrived very well prepared with a range of period outfits, his irrepressible good humour and enthusiasm and his positive, can do attitude.

Needless to say the resulting shoot was productive, collaborative, a great deal of fun, and so was highly reactive to the situations we found ourselves in.

This was the first shoot I have done which required a bit of vintage roll playing, which Melany and Rob both do so well together and clearly have much fun doing. They understand both eachother and the genre so well. Rob has his period characters off to a tea, getting all sorts of little details and manerisms right. His extensive wardrobe of outfits and props are immaculatly kept and organised. Rob is also a naturally relaxed, friendly and buoyant person, so working with Rob is a pure dream.

I have no hesitation at all in recommending Rob in the highest terms.

Had another great shoot with Rob at Far Forest Studio, once again he was a pleasure to work with and has loads of ideas for shots, posing without direction and makes the shoot fun, got some great images in a short time. Highly recommend working with Rob and hope to get to do it again soon.

My 3rd shoot with the lovely Melany and Retro Rob at Far Forest Studio. Pre shoot communications excellent and on the day we had a very productive 2 hours. Plenty of ideas bouncing backwards and forwards and by the end not enough time to explore them all. I'll be keeping an eye on their future travels for more sessions. There is a reason why they get booked up quickly!

What can I say about the shoot with Retro Rob and Retro Melany , not only did they turn up early for the shoot after I had messed up and double booked myself on shoots that day , but they were once again totally amazing , professional , funny a lovely to work with .. As soon as I found out they were doing another model day at Far Forest , I booked on straight away .. If any photographer wants to work with a model or models when they are on a duo shoot , I cannot recommend these guys any higher .. They are amazing xx

Well, a second chance to work with Rob and Melany, this time at Far Forest Studio. Had a very rough idea of a theme, being Jazz scenes, Jazz club. Wasn’t sure where to start, so I just let both Rob and Mel choose their outfits, then Pow! They just do their thing. Rob, as usual, immaculate attention to detail, with outfits. I took along a couple of saxophones to try to set a feel to the shoot.

A couple of shots I asked Rob to sit for, while Mel changed, required some deep emotion on his part. I can honestly say, when I looked at the images at home, it brought a tear to my eye. He nailed it, exactly how I’d imagined. Rob has an ability take on board, any direction you offer, listening intently to instructions. I’ve yet to shoot any art nude stuff with him yet, I’m sure he’ll amaze in the same way. Thanks Rob for a wonderful 4 hours. No idea how to top the last two shoots, but I’m looking forward to the challenge. Get this guy and Melany on your ports, you know it makes sense.😁😁😁

I had my third shoot with Rob yesterday. He was awesome as ever! This time it was a duo shoot with Melany who I hadn't met before. I arrived with my moodboard of ideas which I thought was far too much to ask of the models and didn't expect to get half way through them (it was a large moodboard). They liked my ideas and worked like Trojans to get the results, the shoot went very smoothly and we actually got to the end in the time we had booked! I've just completed two days of shooting with Rob at Far Forest Studio and what an amazing time we had! We had a very busy two days shooting a range of looks from classic art nude through to more energetic poses! We also shot vintage in a variety of styles and Rob's creativity really came in handy as he's constantly coming up with new and exciting ideas. Rob is great at working with new and experienced photographers and always put everything he's got into the shoot - he brings with him a wardrobe of quality items and his attention to detail with styling is spot on. He always create an authentic and eye catching look, and his acting skills bring the shot to life.

Rob is professional, considerate, hard working and fun to be around - he always brings out the best in everyone.

We had 8 very happy photographers who captured some awesome shots so a very successful double studio day - I can't wait to work with Rob again next month down in Hove on our next sellout studio day.

Turned up to do a shoot yesterday in London and saw this amazing fit guy working on the same shoot and instantly recognised him as the winner of the Men competition on PP!

We had a really good chat about modelling and he is an incredibly positive and hard working man.

Looking forward to all working together one in the future.

Met Rob yesterday by chance on shoot in London.

He is very interesting to chat to and very easy to get on with.

I can see why he is so poplar on PP with an excellent physique and very photogenic nature.

I had the pleasure of working with Rob out and about in Central London using natural light (such as it was!), rain and wind... Despite horrid weather we had a great time and Rob was fantastic throughout.

Rob is a brilliant model - just so expressive and keen on his work. He poses effortlessly and is good fun between shots.

Occasionally you're lucky enough to meet and work with a model who is incredible, yesterday I had the good fortune to work with not one but two such models. Retro Rob and Melany at a studio day at Top Floor Studio, Newent.

The chemistry & synergy between Rob and Melany is truly mazing. The way they work together to create exquisite, powerful and graceful poses is awesome. The rapport they have makes them an outstanding duo in the genre of art-nude coupled with such wonderful confidence and ability too. We worked together for 3 hours and the time just whizzed by in a fantastic blur of non-stop creativity.

I can't praise Rob and Melany highly enough and wholeheartedly recommend them both. Hope to work together again at some time.
