Miki at the Miyazaki Spa

Another image of Miki Hamano from my first shoot with this beautiful Japanese model who went on to become a Playboy Playmate (March 2019) and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. It had considerable poignancy as I took her to the historic Miyazaki Japanese Bath & Guest house (now closed) in the town of Walnut Grove, CA which housed the largest Japanese community of agricultural workers in California's Central Valley during the first 3 decades of the 19th century. The town was depopulated of its Japanese residents during the shameful forced internment of Japanese-Americans in WWII.
