Just done my first wicked Wednesday with Mick what can I say amazing from start to finish. Had some fantastic advice,learnt some new tips on photography, also got some stunning images, what more could you ask for.

Mick is extremely friendly and his knowledge on photography is endless. Mick has a way of explaining things so it's easy to understand and is very professional

I love working with Mike at his studio. Iv worked with him about 4 times now 1-1 on a group evening and I have a studio day booked next Sunday. He is a pleasure to work with. 110% recommend. He is so easy going, down to earth, friendly, funny, helpful and professional. This man sure knows his stuff and even let me watch in while doing a few quick edits which I love. The studio is great has lots of rooms and different places to use you are spoils for choice. He is also able to give great tips to models. And does not push levels and has always respected mine. I can not speak highly enough of him... I will shut up now haha!! Thanks so much Mike much luv Elle x

So I went to a casting with Mick and Karen which went really well, we got some awesome images! They then went on to book me for a studio day at Mick Payton studios which was the Sunday just gone which also went really well. I had a top day, really enjoyed myself and was made to feel more than welcome. Thank you for everything! Highly recommended. X

Had a great shoot at Mick Payton’s studio last month working with two amazing models. Mick was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The set up he has is amazing and the different areas around his property provide so many opportunities to create a variety of looks and themes. I look forward to shooting there again. Thanks Mick!

I attended an unpaid casting hosted by Mick and Karen. I spent just over an hour with them, shooting a few quick sets, both inside and out. Both photographers were fun to be with and full of knowledge. They were open with directions, and great with expressing what they wanted. I can't wait for my next shoot with Mick (and/or Karen!). For anyone unsure if they should attend an unpaid casting, I would thoroughly recommend doing so!

I had a shoot with mick and Karen on Tuesday to do some test shots.

He's very straight up front and knows exactly what he wants from a shoot and how he's going to achieve it :)

Mick is very laid back and always gives good feedback throughout the shoot to keep us both on the same page of how's it's going.

We got some great images and can't wait to see some more! Oh! He sent me edits the same night too which is brilliant!

Had a lovely time, got some great photos and look forward to working with him again at his studio :)

I worked at Micks Studio again on the 4th october, had a great time, constantly getting to meet new people i'm very comfortable when working on tutorials at Micks and we are always having a laugh, can't wait for the 8th november with Jenny :)

I had a great time at Micks studio yesterday working with two terrific models. Mick is a great host and i came away with some awesome images and had a really fun relaxing day. The set up he has is brilliant and i will be returning to use them again soon. I cant recommend him and the studio enough. Thank you Mick I had a great day and look forward to visiting again.

I have attended two sessions both of which were superb. A friendly supportive atmosphere which really helped develop confidence to experiment with your camera. Both sessions were well organised and both with outstanding models. Will be using this studio a lot in the future.

Thanks, Mick for being the photographic Jedi Master to my Luke Skywalker. I asked to be pushed and you delivered. I learned more in a day's one-on-one workshop about lighting, model direction and many aspects of photography than years of books and other workshops. And also thanks for organising to shoot with the amazing Keira Lavelle. It was a privilege. I didn't expect to laugh so much, either. See you again next time I'm over. ;-)

Zoom Out

I have attended two group shoots at Mick Payton Studios recently, and have really enjoyed them. Not only have I come away with some great images, but have received some invaluable advice from Mick on techniques and settings. The shoots are very well organised and there is always a friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of places to shoot around the house with great natural light, but you also shoot in the studio so there's so many options. And you even get lunch!

All in all, the shoots are well worth signing up for, and good value for money. I definitely will be attending more in the future. Highly recommended!

Ive been modelling at micks studios for about 2 months now and i really enjoy it! i only live 10 minutes away so its very convenient for me, everything i need is provided for me, and the photographers who attend are brilliant, i always feel very comfortable when i go round and i'll be seeing mick soon on the 30th for another wicked wednesday! :)

Attented a group2one event at Micks studio, friendly atmosphere plenty of great shots and locations. As usual plenty of food and drink laid on.

I Really recommend the group2one shoots.

I attended this event for the first time hoping that I would get to learn different aspects of photography while also working in a fun, relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I was not disappointed. Mick is a very knowledgeable photographer and although not looking over your shoulder, was always on hand to offer advice when it was required. His home is very versatile and there are photos in abundance to be captured throughout.

I would highly recommend these events to any tog who is looking to improve their photography while working in a warm, friendly environment.

Lovely as always to shoot with this studio! And I can vouch for 'Mick Payton Studios' and their determination get you work. I've been to a few 'unpaid casting calls' and Mick's one of the few who have followed through on the promises and booked a date straight after. I've had some studios/photographers who have fallen off the face of the earth after a casting sadly, despite being very happy with the images taken and using them all over their websites and Facebook. Not these guys... If you impress Mick and Karen, they'll do right by you! Thanks again guys xx

Attended a Group2one shoot on Sunday at Mick Payton studio, very friendly relaxed atmosphere. A wide range of locations, utilizing natural light as well as studio. Plenty of advice given when requested, great model. Took awesome photographs throughout the day. Thoroughly enjoyed myself, nice lunch provided, with refreshments throughout the day.

Highly recommend the Group2one session, as its a chance to meet like minded individuals and opportunities to bounce ideas of each other.

I got the chance to work at Micks studio on a Group2one shoot last Sunday. Micks studio is ace, loads of natural light, a brilliant Garden for outdoor work. The atmosphere is great very relaxed and welcoming. The Group2one is different from what I usually do in the way that photographers get more one2one time with the model and the togs learn so much. it was great to know that everything I put in was part of a team effort. I cant wait to go back.
