What a first experience at Mick Paytons Studio in Walsall! Mick and Sue made me feel so welcome throughout and are perfect hosts that I can't recommend enough!

Mick is a lovely guy with a great sense of Humour and a fantastic teacher and photographer too! Sue provided hands down the best spread at a workshop I have had to date. I feel like I should also mention Max the dog because he is just amazing :')

I also worked with 10 great photographers on this workshop that were great to work with ensuring I felt comfortable throughout. Such a safe and inviting environment for both models and photographers and I can't wait to visit again soon. Already arranged another event. ♥

Attended another excellent photo shoot at Mick Payton's studio. Well organised,with two first class models in Bethany Morgan and Scarlett Jane, and a well prepared sandwich lunch provided. Mick also used his Nikon skills to sort out a minor problem on a recently acquired Nikon. All highly recommended.

My third visit to Mick's Studio in a short space of time but my first full day's shoot. There is a reason I keep going back and that is because everything is so well organised, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and Mick arranges some wonderful models to work with. The facilities are fantastic and I was able to shoot in both the studio and the house where there are some beautiful rooms to work in. If you are wanting to learn more about either natural lighting or studio set ups Mick is able to give excellent advice on both as well of lots of handy tips and tricks. I cannot recommend this studio highly enough. Thanks again to Mick for arranging a great day and to Sue for providing a lovey lunch. See you again in a couple of weeks!

I had an enjoyable day at Mick’s working with Bethany Morgan and Scarlett Jane on a portfolio builder event. This was my first visit to the studio; I was greeted warmly by Mick and felt very welcome to the studio.

Mick has years of experience and imparts knowledge and advice to improve the creative image being taken. Care and attention of the selection of model is second to none. The group of photographers also on the shoot was a mixture of experiences and well balanced, we all assisted borrowed ideas from each over throughout the event.

The event was well organised, the overall atmosphere was friendly, relaxed.

I look forward to next events at the studio which I’m attending and hope to learn more from Mick to improve my images.

Attended a portfolio day with Scarlett Jane and Bethany More. Very friendly atmosphere. Great sandwiches made by his lovely wife, plenty of tea and coffee.

Plenty of places to shoot with natural light plus ofcourse the studio.

Good communication from Mick before the day. Mick was great at helping if we needed any help. I learnt a lot.

Bethany and Scarlett were easy to talk to, great to work with, and made lots of helpful suggestions.

I highly recommend Mick's courses.

My second visit to the Mick Payton studios and already cannot wait to return. I am welcomed everytime, I cannot fault anything during my time there. Sandwiches and cake are always ready served during the lunch break with plenty cups of tea to keep you going throughout the day. The 6 hours always fly by, why? because its so much fun! I love all the photographers Mick gets on the studio days, and especially Micks photography is out of this world :P Love every image he takes of me! Thanks again for a great day Mick and again, I cannot wait to return. Highly Recommended!!!!

I visited Mick Payton’s Studio in Walsall two weeks for a 1:1 training session with Mick and the beautiful and radiant Scarlett Jane. It was my very first time at the studio and I was totally impressed with how well the whole session went. Speaking to Mick on the phone prior to attending the session I found him very helpful, pleasant and relaxed, yet very professional. I had phoned him several times to enquire about the training and he was always happy to answer my questions. I gained a lot of knowledge in the 4 hours that we had that day and left feeling totally satisfied with the training. So satisfied, that I booked a full two-day training session with him. Thank you Scarlett, for being such a brilliant model, you made me feel relaxed and it was easy working with you to create some amazing shots. I highly recommend Mick Payton’s Studio to anyone who wants to develop their photographic skills. Thank you Mick, you are helping me develop mine. See you again soon!

I attended my first amazing workshop and for sure won't be my last. I was very welcomed as soon as I arrived, mick ensured I had enough tea breaks. Pre comms was spot on, and everything flowed smoothly on the day. I met some lovely photographers and felt at ease throughout the shoot.

We done lots of different set ups in micks beautiful home, I cannot wait to return for my second one! Was a fab day!!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure shooting with Mick on one of his fabulous group studio days. Pre comms were perfect, I knew exactly what to expect from the day, I was warmly greeted at the door, teas, coffees, and biscuits were on tap which makes for a very happy model.

With another model on the day, we had a group of four photographers each and swapped groups throughout the day, it was lovely to meet so many new faces and such friendly people! We started off the day with some en pointe and contemporary dance work with both groups before moving in to art nude ballet work with a few different concepts thrown in by other photographers on the second group.

After a gorgeous lunch, I spent the second half of the day in Mick's beautiful home, shooting in the bedroom, hallway, bathroom, landing, and dining room. There was so much brilliant natural light to use everywhere we shot making for some very soft and pretty shots.

Great fun filled day, so many lovely photographers, and Mick is so easy to work with, chatty, friendly and talented.

What needs to be said. I attended one of Mick and Jacks workshops, it was a very warm reception even from Max !! (if you dont know max you need to) did a little networking with a great bunch of photographers while drinking coffee. The sessions were well organized with good content thought out and with fabulous models. Mick said one of his secrets (blown it now) is only to find the very best models and this workshop was a prime example of this. With the reputations Mick and Jack have in the industry you might think they may carry a chip on their shoulder or have an attitude that its their way or nothing but both guys were very receptive to suggestions, listened and answered questions no matter how technical or how simply they were without ever making the asker feel stupid by the question. They covered the basics and more in depth subjects in a concise simple to follow way and everyone left with amazing images. - I had a very relaxing very enjoyable day out and am sure I will become a regular as the location is great for shooting the environment is great for shooting the models are up for shooting and you cant fail to have a good day.

I attended a Jack Russell workshop at Micks Nifty Fifty Studios, and his place is outstanding.

I'd never met Mick before, but I found him so incredibly welcoming, and me being a nervous, very new, photographer, he made me feel right at home within seconds.

He is warm, genuine, generous, funny, and exceedingly willing to share his huge wealth of knowledge.

The Studios themselves are fantastic, with choices of a self contained studio, beautiful gardens, and a gorgeous house to work in.

From his initial emails, to the final goodbye on the day, Mick made me feel welcome. I genuinely can't wait to work with him and at those studios again.

I got the pleasure to work at a workshop at Micks house/studio at the weekend and we had such a ball.

He is really fun to work with , passionate about his work and his images are just stunning .

Mick had already learnt me loads just in one shoot so I can't wait to shoot with him again.

We achieved some beautiful images and he comes very highly recommended by me .

Sue and Mick looked after me all weekend and made me feel really at home .

Took part yesterday in one of Mick's workshops 'Working with your model', with the lovely Kira Harper the model for the day. I'd driven down from Greater Manchester and it was the first time I'd met Mick and Kira. What a pleasure and privilege it was. Mick is 'the real deal', down to earth, witty and of course has years and years of model photography experience and talent which he communicated so well throughout this workshop. With me being quite a newbie to model photography I felt out of my comfort zone some of the time but I've come away with a lot of invaluable insights to put into practice in my photography with models. I particularly appreciated Mick's plain honesty and many gems of wisdom about how to work with models and achieve very good images with emotional content. A challenging workshop for me but of a fair number of different workshops I've taken part in over recent months this was the most important one to apply to advance my photography with models. Very highly recommended. Many thanks Mick, and to Kira of course too for being the ideal model.

Another visit to Mick, this time with Kira. An excellent day out, challenging activities rather than point, click and go home with the same images as the other tog's.

Added a few more ideas I need to try out in the studio. Just when I think I know what I'm doing the bar is raised, but that's only right and proper if you want to enjoy your photography and improve your images.

Highly recommended.

I visited Mick's studio for the first time last week for his Wednesday event. Mick is a great guy and a great photographer. He is very open in his approach and although he has TONS of experience he is very down to earth and approachable. His studio is also great with all the necessary equipment and plenty of setups for photoshoots. He is very friendly and do what he can to enable you to achieve the shots that you want.I have already booked my next session with him and looking forward to work with him in the future.

Had another group shoot here yesterday evening.

Once again pre communications where brilliant and it was sold as and even had an extra photographer :)

The night ran smoothly as always with plenty of amazing photos giggles and plenty of biscuits yum!!!

Hopefully I will get chance to shoot here again it's a lovely studio and it's ran by lovely people!!

I worked last night at Mick Paytons studio evening. I had a blast!! This was my second shoot with Mick and Karen and was so much fun as always!

Mick is amazing at giving direction and explains the reason on why hes doing it, explaining it fully and i learnt loads!!

Hes a great photographer and really knows his stuff!
