Wow, finally i got there!!! Even if it did snow AGAIN!! After much planning and a change of date due to the snow fall a couple of weeks ago i finally got to work and model for Mick solo and for an event of his. Snowed heavily again but at least i got there this time! What an amazing experience it was. Mick's pre comms leading up to the day was second to none. He was so on the ball and great with communication i felt i already knew him when i arrived. I arrived the day before the event which gave me chance to work with Mick 1-1 so we got a feel for how each other worked and it was fab, he is super chilled, easy to model for and a whole heap of fun so i was buzzing for the event itself. Mick work is beautiful, he is very knowledgeable and been in the business a very long time and it was nice to see him pass this on to others and share his styles of work. The event was amazing with many happy customers. A lovely chilled and relaxed day with lots of laughs just as it should be. Mick and his wife are also great to be around socially, they made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcome and their hospitality was out of this world and a huge shout out to his lovely wife for all the work she does behind the scenes. Prepping for the event, buffet, drinks and even clearing the snow and gritting paths to make it safe for the attendees. Such a lovely experience all round and i'm very much looking forward to returning and doing it all again in June.....I promise not to bring the snow next time round ;-)

I've been wanting to work with Mick for a large chunk of my career, so I was delighthed when asked to come model on one of his workshops. I came down from Leeds the night before and both Mick and his lovely wife were very obliging and made me feel comfortable and at home. I was well catered for. On the day the atmosphere of Micks workshop was incredible, he really knows how to amp up the drama in a room. Having only taken a handful of shots of me himself throughout the day, that's all Mick needs, he can't fail to get the shots he wants and I've literally been amazed by every image that's appeared so far since the day. Mick's use of lighting is beautiful and he is a man of many tricks, from natural light to studio, everything was set up super fast and worked instantly. I'm super impressed and honoured to have met Mick and his wife and even more so for them to have opened up their home to me 😊 I'm over the moon to be asked to return and can't wait to come back! I recommend Mick enough. His work really does speak for itself! Thankyou for a great workshop and for your hospitality Mick 😊 X

Been to another fabulous workshop at micks place. If you want to learn Photography you won’t go wrong with this studio mick is so relaxed and so much time for people he will take you out of your comfort zone but you will take home stunning images guaranteed.and for what I can see he only uses the best models. And the lunch break is something to look forward too every time. Can’t wait for next month as I will be going back

This was a really great experience and I throughly enjoyed every part of it, I came away with a new confidence and understanding of glamour photography and with working with a model. I was quite excited to work with Mick at his workshop as he liked and wanted to shoot my alternative style which doesn't happen often! The day was well organised with plenty of tea breaks and lots of food, he made sure no one went hungry. I enjoyed shooting in his beautiful home as well as the cosy studio with him and the other photographers, there was an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere. The images I have seen so far are great and I can't wait to see the rest :) See you soon hopefully!

I have been working at mick Payton studio on Sunday for the first time, I had such an amazing day, workshop was so professional , yet very friendly and fun atmosphere . Studio is really well equipped and has got a lot to offer, Mick Payton himself is a brilliant photography tutour and amazing photographer, and we are already arranging another date for shoot again. Big up Mick Payton! Always a pleasure modelling on Micks photography workshops. He is a top quality photographer, highly experienced/internationally published and genuinely one of my favourite people to work with. I always see the best of myself in his images and get so many to share from every visit. Mick and his wife Sue are absolute perfect hosts and I always love visiting and catching up anyway! Beautiful home and studio. Brilliant company. What more could you ask for. Mick says I'm coming back so as always I'm looking forward to it, yay :-D

I had seen Mick's work through various top models portfolios and always wanted to meet and work with him because of the standard of his work and how he seemed like a fun person to be around having seen the selfies on the model days/workshops.

Mick and I finally managed to arrange a date for a full day of workshops. The pre-shoot comms were second to none and he was even understanding when I had to rearrange the dates due to some family issues. From the moment I arrived I knew we were going to get along, Mick is so welcoming and friendly. There's tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival and always a stop for lunch where his lovely wife makes sandwiches/snacks for everyone :D 'Proper' looked after.

The workshop consisted of 2 groups of about 6 photographers, one morning session of about 3 hours and the same after lunch. Mick is a genius with lighting set-ups and knows exactly how to get the best out of the model. He isn't vulgar, crude, disrespectful or pushy. He is completely the opposite which I really admire and respect from a studio owner/tutor. He made sure all the delegates weren't any of the above either and that everyone took turns to take photos.

Honestly the best workshop I have ever done and the images produced that day are some of my all time favourites. I can't wait to be back there again in June :D

Second shoot at Mick's studio. Not only is Mick a great photographer with a vast experience in the industry, he's a genuinely nice guy. Always happy to share his knowledge and help photographers to improve theirs...

The studio facilities are excellent and it goes with out saying that I would recommend him to any photographers, whatever level you are at (Y)

Ive shot at Mick's studio for a while now.

Yet I've always forgotten to leave a reference ( so Mick I do apologise for that pal ).

Mick has always spent time with not only myself but other photographers, to make sure you get the best image you can.

Also advice is there when ever needed.

Mick's studio is one I love returning too, as each time I'm there I learn something new.

Can only thank you for all the help and advice your given me over the past year pal :)

I had the pleasure of shooting at Mick's studio earlier today. The space itself is brilliant and has everything you could need. Mick was really friendly and helped out with lighting throughout the shoot. I would recommend his studio space or his classes to anyone and I hope I get to do a one on one shoot with him in the future :)
