Another great workshop at Solo Studios. This time Film Noir with John Duder and models Geoff Amos and SJAY. Great four hours tutoring and photography, using the lighting provided by the studio. Adrian supplied the sandwiches and kept the coffee coming. Many thanks ALL.

Solo studio

John was recommended as someone knowledgeable that could host our Film Noir workshop. This proved true. He was very approachable, precise, helpful, informative and well received from all the photographers present. I'm sure he'll be back again to continue his tuition based role soon.

First time meeting with John on a Film Noir Workshop at my local studio and I really enjoyed the Tuition, he is very knowledgeable in his field and can positively say he actually help me out on this workshop, he brought a little humour and a shed load of Light to this subject :) I highly recommend him.

John is a creative, well spoken out going individual with more experience in photography than years i have been alive. He is kind, patient and friendly, yet always maintains a professional demeanour. I was John's model for a few hours while he was tutoring someone on the use of studio lighting and then I got chance to work with him one on one afterwards.

I've worked with John before as a model and he is lovely to work with, very chatty and friendly, well organised, great pre shoot communication and arrived on time; which are all great qualities for a photographer, as well as producing some really stunning images!

But I have to say, he is a great tutor too (I was there as the model, but being interested in photography myself, I learnt some things while I was there!)

I would definitely recommend John and would definitely work with him again!

I had a great lighting/modeling workshop with John. His style is relaxed yet informative, allowing me to express my own creativity within the bounds of his expert guidance. The model he chose for me was exceptionally professional as well as patient and who also supplemented John's tutorship with a models perspective on lighting and posing. This combination provided a great learning environment for a newbie photographer.

I would not hesitate to recommend John to any photographer.

Great workshop with John, got plenty of scope to pick all the knowledge from his brains! Extremely helpful tutor, giving tips throughout the workshop, very friendly & professional manner definitely recommend John a very relaxed manor and look forward to booking again on another workshop soon!

If you are considering tuition of any kind for your photography you really should stop by here.

A fountain of knowledge and an incredible kit bag -which I'm extremely envious of, John knows and can advise you on so many things. He never fails to amaze me.

If thats not enough, what makes John extra special is the way he teaches.

I for one have a sieve for brains and have read countless books, many on lighting. I read and get what they say but its just words. John has a knack of showing you and it just sinks in! when he puts it into practise its a bit like a eureka moment, its like a light bulb goes off and it just makes sense!

He really is a first class teacher

I had my first tuition with John this evening. I certainly feel that with John's guidance and tuition, I will be able to progress with my love of photography and have a greater ability in understanding my camera and producing better quality images.

John was able to talk in a simple way that I could understand. Even with my learning issues. I felt comfortable and confident.

John is probably one of the most competent photographers that has graced my studio within the last 4 years. He is professional and always has outstanding reviews from models that have worked with him. If you are an amateur photographer looking to learn how to do photography properly I would highly recommend you book yourself in for a tutorial session with John. You won't come away disappointed. I'd also recommend anyone wanting to learn the, sadly dying art, of film photography including the processing and development then John is your man!
