Abstract Reality

I was lucky enough to attend a lighting workshop hosted by Chris and Amie. Chris is a great teacher and extremely creative. I felt like I learned a lot and got some amazing photos from it! Him and Amie are a dream team- I recommend them highly!

I wanted to push my studio knowledge further as approx. 70% of my skills are in Natural light or mixed light and Chris I quickly discovered is a master of this skill. Well organised, as a tutorial should be, understanding, very humble, but above all else his lighting skill is beyond anyone I have ever seen, he knows light "full stop", don't go and pay for new equipment, a better investment is to get Chris to teach you, far more worthwhile than a new flash! Recommended of course! I will be back for a 1 to 1 as that's the best 2017 investment in myself.

I met Chris for the first time last Sunday at a "Location lighting workshop" at Woodbridge Studios in Camberley which he hosted. Chris was fantastic in not only being relaxed and easy to work with but also his detailed knowledge involved in the lighting setups which were demonstrated to us at the workshop. It was a total pleasure to have been able to work with Chris. I can wholeheartedly recommend him as a photographer to anyone looking to work with him. Thank you for such an enjoyable day, Chris!

I Attended a group lighting workshop at Woodbridge Studio with Chris this afternoon and can only say it was a real pleasure and very informative, Chris is very Knowledgeable about his art and was only to happy to share that knowledge he even loaned me a lens which enabled me to participate in the workshop fully.

His lighting set ups were innovative and refreshing utilising the diversity of the Studio and the lovely model Amie Boulton to the full. He was also willing to embrace my experimentation with my Infra-red converted camera which I hope he found interesting?.

Thanks Chris for a very enjoyable and informative afternoon as well as the loan of your lens.

Would I attend another of Chris's workshops ? you bet your life I would. Highly recommended.

I attended Chris’s workshop held at Woodbridge Studio. Clearly a talented and inspirational photographer and he can run a mean workshop too. The workshop was very well organised and Chris communicated effectively before the event so we could all find the location and know what to bring in terms of equipment. The afternoon was packed with shooting as Chris (and Michael) arranged 5 pre-lit sets so we all got plenty of high quality and unique shots throughout the afternoon. I really enjoyed the event, it ran smoothly and Chris and the other photographers were a friendly bunch. The model (Amie Boulton) and the shooting location were top notch. I’d recommend Chris’s events and plan on shooting at his studio when I am down south next.

Attended a workshop at Woodbridge Studio hosted by Chris and his team, really great afternoon. Loved the lighting set ups, as well as the atmosphere. The session was really well structured and professional, as well as having a great opportunity to network. Fun sets, liked the diversity that the Woodbridge Studio offered, Chris worked that to his advantage resulting in some superb shot.

I was part of a morning group shoot Chris and his team had organised. Have to say Chris and his team did a fabulous job or making sure everyone was looked after, made to feel very welcome and each one of us had an excellent opportunity to enjoy the session and capture some quality images. Chris made sure the morning flowed well and was very generous with his knowledge sharing and support for all the togs attending. If you've not had the benefit of a workshop with Chris I'd very much encourage you to get booked in, you will meet a great team and enjoy the experience. I attended a studio workshop designed as a portfolio builder that I was run by Chris. Basically Chris does 5 different lighting set ups and you get 1 on 1 time with the model - which for me is essential for group shoots.

The model in this case was the excellent Amie Boulton. The lighting set ups were great and because it's Amie you get to take more than enough photos - so great value. Chris is very approachable and friendly and managed us all very well. I would happily recommend these sessions as a very easy & effective way to add to your portfolio.

I had the luck to join Chris today for the event he had organised with the amazing Amie Boulton. Chris created 5 great sets and lighting setups for us to shoot Amie to make sure we got the most out of the day. Pre-shoot comms excellent with Chris sending emails with all the details and making sure we would not had trouble finding the studio. Overall the event was perfectly organised and run smoothly. Highly recommended!

Chris certainly knows his lighting. I attended a short group shoot which gave me a taste for more, so I'll be re-booking for a full tutorial when he next visits the Civilised part of the country :-)

Attended an enjoyable group shoot session in Camberley organised by Chris with Amie Boulton modelling. The event was well-organised using 5 different set-ups with Chris creating the lighting for each set. The style was something different to my previous experience and I was made to think fast about the shots, which I found very beneficial. I would certainly do another one of these! Recommended.

I don't really need to say much other than I work alongside Chris on a regular basis on group shoots and workshops and i wouldn't do this over and over if he wasn't such a talented bundle of awesomeness :-)

It's been many, many years since I last attended a group shoot. However, when I received an invitation to one of Chris' workshops, I took a quick peek at his portfolio and booked on the spot. I wasn't disappointed. Chris arranged five lighting set-ups, gave us the relevant camera settings and away we went. Working with a fantastic model (Amie Boulton) and with Chris' lighting expertise, I came away with some very nice images. I would recommend Chris' workshops to any photographer.

Attended a group shoot organised by Chris at Onyx studios today, the pre comms were great and Chris is very friendly and provided all the info needed, he worked very hard setting up lots of different lighting setups that were all excellent and everything ran very smooth. Hope to attend more events organised by Chris in the future.

The session was very well organised and ran very smoothly indeed, giving lots of shooting time with the excellent Amie Boulton as model.

Chris obviously has some extremely impressive lighting skills and it made for a great session.

I would be glad to attend another event organised by Chris in the future.

I attended a location group shoot in Torquay arranged by Chris with two models and several photographers. The shoot was excellently arranged in a beautiful villa and Chris demonstrated flawless technique in terms of lighting, room setting and approach. I've already booked onto another workshop with Chris and look forward to learning more from someone who clearly has mastered his craft. Great work Chris.

I attended a location group shoot/event organised by Chris with a varied amount of different sets from fashion up to art nude level.

I was the only female photographer at this event and it was my first time in shooting Art Nude. I was made to feel very welcome and although Chris was very busy he ensured myself and other photographers on the set were all happy throughout the whole evening.

I would recommend Chris for any continual professional development activities, shoots or events as he adapts quickly and responds effectively to meet the needs of all involved, his extensive knowledge and practical skills are inspirational to watch and is very much encouraging at every level.

Artemis Fauna

Mr Conway invited me all the way back down south to join himself and Amie Boulton on a rather superb group shoot. This was no normal group shoot though, it was one of the best group shoots I have ever attended- a different breed of group shoot! ;)

The event was hosted at the stunning Magnolias house in Torquay and the organisation and effort that went in was incredible. We all worked together to make sure each and every set was as good as it could be for the photographers booking on. The lighting was spot on (obviously) ;) and myself and Amie did a super job if I don't say so myself. #GreatTeam ;)

The images taken and feedback we have received from the event has been great and I really hope I can join Chris again one day on another one of these group shoots.

Chris and I also got to quickly shoot during the day and managed to fit three totally different sets into about an hour. The back of camera shots looked great and I am super excited to see the final images at some point. Some of my favorite images ever I think.

Amie Boulton

I have worked with Chris on several projects in the past and so we decided to take one of our group shoots on tour this week in Kent. This was always going to be a task as we didnt know the area, the people the design of the barn we hired until we got there but before hand Chris was awesome and together we organised and planned things as best we could in order to make it a great success and guess what.... it was!! We took an assistant who is also awesome, the lovely Michael white and between the 3 of us we nailed it. Chris' attention to detail is incredible. He made 5 uber creative lighting set up on each group shoot and impressed all the photographers who booked. He is a great laugh to work with full of banter and surprisingly lovely (he will hate me saying that ha!)

I always enjoy working with him but it was lovely to see just how well he works with others. a photographer, a lighting guru, a tutor, Pretty much an all rounder loved the experience and look forward to storming other areas with the shoots :-)
