Another incredible shoot with Mаl, but this time he teamed up with another photographer and makeup artist to create some truly amazing photos. His creativity knows no bounds. He’s always coming up with something new and unusual, putting so much effort into bringing his ideas to life. This time, we did a really cool colorful shoot and also went for a post-apocalyptic style.

The makeup artist Mal found did an incredible job, changing the makeup quickly and creating an absolutely stunning look. Mal and his friend also found the perfect costumes that fit the concept, making the shoot super creative, fun, and truly unique. And, of course, as always, Mal was incredibly thoughtful.

He’s always ready to find a drink I like, never in a rush, and always creates a warm atmosphere with friendly conversation, making it a wonderful time together. Mel isn’t just a great photographer—he’s truly creative, and working with him is always exciting because you’re left wondering what’s coming next. That’s something I truly love about him: the chance to have fun and bring all those wild ideas to life.

Thank you so much for always being such a warm friend, letting me be as crazy as I am, and creating such wonderful shoots. See you in October with another amazing idea from you!

I had the pleasure of working with Mal for the first time at the monkey sanctuary in Warrington. He communicated really well before the shoot. We discussed everything that we would be doing on the shoot and he advised me on what to bring, yet still gave me freedom to pick what suited me and my style.

When I arrived he offered me a drink, and we chatted before we started shooting which was lovely as it made me feel more relaxed. He gave me a lot of confidence and was very considerate and respectful.

He’s really easy to talk to and a genuine lovely guy. His photography skills were fantastic and I definitely learnt things from him. He’s very professional and the quality of his photos/editing have really impressed me.

During the shoot we discussed future plans for shoots together and I’m really looking forward to bringing them to life! I would highly recommend.

Again a brill shoot with Mal, he's always prompt before I get to the destination point.

This time, the shoot was different, we both enjoyed it as it was from cosplay to alternative look.

We had a laugh, took our time so no rush which I like.

Had my first shoot with Mal on Sunday and I had a great afternoon.

Pre coms were great, I knew exactly what to pack and he was so understanding with the timing due to the distance I was travelling.

He offered me a drink as soon as I arrived and we got to know each other a little before the shoot as I was early.

The studio had everything I needed and Mal made me feel at ease. He has a great eye to detail and it was a pleasure to work with someone who notices the extra details in jewelry and shoes to complete the outfit.

It was great listening to Mals ideas from past and future shoots over the afternoon and what he has achieved as a photographer. A very interesting person who I would love to work with again in the future.

Yesterday I had a fantastic first shoot with Mal at cheeky monkey studios and we had a great time. Mal was great we pre comms and I knew exactly what to bring with me, he also provided a really cool distressed denim outfit that fitted perfectly!

We shot a few fashion sets and then some art nude using a variety of lighting set ups. Lots of laughs, chatter and great photo sets, 100% recommended from me!

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

Mal came back to Basford Hurst Cottage this week to work with Caitlyn J and Jasmine on a duo shoot for the afternoon.

It's always an absolute pleasure to welcome Mal to Basford Hurst Cottage!! He always arrives on time with everything he needs and spends a lot of time collaborating with his models on a range of ideas to produce some stunning results. This time him, Caitlyn and Jasmine were exploring themes around the work of Helmut Newton and Jack Vetriano and the results certainly do not disappoint!!!

Mal is always very respectful of our location and the models he is working with. We thoroughly enjoy spending time with him and we of course highly reccomend booking a shoot with him!!

I had a fantastic shoot with Mal at his new studio. It was our second shoot after our first shoot last year.

Mal is so easy to work with, very friendly and chill. I loved catching up with him and creating images with him. Mal always made sure I was comfortable and let me bring my own ideas.

Communication is great, both pre-shoot and post-shoot. We are already planning our next shoot and I really can't wait to work with Mal again.

It was a pleasure to work with Mal again at his studio (The Monkey Sanctury) in Warrington.

It was the first time I was working with him as a MUA and stylist for The Great Wave of Kanagawa theme which we worked together before.

As usual Mal arrived at the studio earlier and was ready for the shoot. He was very patient and gave me enough time to finish the face painting. Also, his pre-communication was excellent to prepare all accessories and stuff for the shoot.

Looking forward to work with him again and highly recommend him and his studio to any models or photographers.

Again, a 100% wonderful afternoon with Mal.

He arrived at the station much earlier than my delayed train and picked me up to the studio. He's so friendly, easy to approach and kindly offered to buy me a coffee like last time. His makeup artist Faran was amazing, painting a creative wave on my face and neck. Mal is very patient both when waiting for the 2-hour long makeup and during the shoot. He's always so kind and I can't recommend working with him more! I am really keen to work with Mal again if possible! Have a nice weekend :)

The shoot was smooth and flawless. Mal is very attentive and kind, making sure he doesn't overwhelm you with too much shooting, casual chit chat going on throughout the shoot but also making sure you are comfortable and at ease. This time, we ventured into a fun and creative cyberpunk-themed shoot!

He brought an amazing array of clothes and accessories, and had such brilliant ideas that I was thrilled to bring to life 🤩

Brilliant to shoot with Mal again at the awesome Tankspace, this time I was in the rain set for his session. Mal is super friendly, chilled and considerate. I could see he was trying lots of different angles and capturing the drama of the rain set and smoke. He is always lovely to chat to and work with!! Happily recommended :-)

I have met Mal for the first time during a group shoot at Tankspace, his shoot approach really stood out to me and he was a very lovely attendee on the day!

I usually struggle writing a full reference for the group shoot photographers as I do not actually get to spend a long time working with them or meeting them properly, but all I can say is that he has an epic image style and I would love to work with him in the future on more personal basis.

I had my first shoot with the reliable cheekymonkey1. We met at the studio where he was waiting for me. This studio he is due to takeover himself. It has great faciltiies inside it.

Great comms beforehand to arrange this shoot.

He had his camera and other equipment ready. We used the same back drop for all the shoot, but using my and his different outfits. He clearly wrote to me a list of what to bring to save me having a heavier suitcase. He directed me posing, while music in the background. We told each other stories about experiences in life. He let me have short breaks in between sets to get a drink.

I felt comfortable shooting up to nude while he took the photos. He is a very good editor.

He let me pose freely to a set he has in mind.

He was easy to chat to and he didn't push my levels.. it would be nice to work with him again.
