References for Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

I had my second shoot at this fabulous venue a few days ago. Quite simply this is a venue with endless possibilities. A simply stunning place for a photoshoot. There are many different rooms all of which are fabulously appointed. Also a fabulous amount of private land outside which can make it look like you are almost anywhere in the uk countryside.

The two hosts are very friendly and welcoming and galvanise what is just a stunning location.

Very highly recommended. As the well known actor said, "I'll be back" :-)

Had my first shoot at Basford, with Erica for a ballet themed shoot, the 3 rooms we used were amazing, there’s an abundance of locations around the property too that can be used, Leanne and Simon were great hosts, made you feel at home and almost part of the family.

The rooms give plenty of natural light, they are meticulously clean and tidy, the styles and shots you can get here are as much as the mind can conjure up, can’t wait to plan another session here.

Highly recommend making Basford one of the studios you must visited

Each room is beautiful and unique and super clean and tidy

On arrival I was kindly greeted and given a tour of the cottage, shown around the changing room and offered a drink - excellent welcoming!

I would definitely return to shoot again, so many beautiful areas and even an outdoor area with a stunning little bridge!

I had organised a Model Duo there, which was Epic.

The hospitality was from the start, we were shown around the building and given refreshments.

First time shooting at Basford Hurst Cottage for the Luna Rose model day, pre-communciation was great and easy to book a slot and a few days before I recieved an email that included a goole map pin to the precise location of the cottage.

Leanne and Simon were welcoming and friendly hosts, refreshments were always on offer and Leanne made me feel welcome and gave me a tour of the rooms. They have both put a lot of work into the location and have plans to improve and redecorate some of the rooms that sound very exciting, but unfortunatley on the day the weather was against us so I decided not to shoot in the grounds (an excuse to revisit). I managed to shoot in a number of rooms but have still not exhausted the oppertunites this location offers (another reason to revisit).

Basford Hurst Cottage is a beautiful location that I hope to revisit soon.

Visit no.2 and not sure what I can say that hasn't been said before. Leanne and Simon are great hosts, the place is lovely and will be even better once the garden is finished. Leanne was also a great help in recommending a mua to join me on my morning shoot with Rosie233 plus create a look for our shoot together in the afternoon.

Had a great shoot at the studio with photographer Damien. The studio is beautiful and has lots of amazing rooms to shoot in. The studio owner is friendly and welcoming and I loved the little touches like the snacks in the dressing room and my name on the welcome sign. Id love to shoot here again.

Another visit to this fabulous property, and just like my first visit I was welcomed with open arms by Leanne and Simon.

Obviously their property is simply stunning, and with the garden nearing the end of its transformation, there's even more places to shoot now! This place really is a gem.

Not to mention how lovely the owners are, they provide everything you could need and nothing is ever too much trouble. There are so many thoughtful touches provided for the models comfort that are truly appreciated.

As always highly recommended and I'll be back soon!

Another visit to this fab property and definitely not my last! Leanne and Simon are fantastic hosts, very accommodating and their beautiful home is spectacular.

The grounds are beautiful as is the inside, with every corner photogenic.

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

Had my 2nd visit to Basford Hurst Cottage last week and couldn’t wait to return for my shoot. Leanne welcomed me into their home/studio and was available if any help was required. A lovely lady and maybe I will return soon and shoot with her as she is a model too! So many options of places/backdrops to shoot that I need to go back to do the ideas I hadn’t had time to do. I have been wanting to shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage since it opened, and when I saw that Rose Magdalene Child was visiting, (an amazing model I had the pleasure of working with 9 years ago!) I just had to book a place.

Basford Hurst Cottage was everything I expected it to be, and much more - Leanne and her fiancé Simon are the most wonderful hosts and a very warm welcome awaits you - along with a lovely brew!

The house and grounds are simply amazing, full of opportunities to explore and be as creative as you wish - I only had two hours with Rose, but we still managed to cram so much variety into the shoot - I could spend a whole day, a week even! and still find different ways to shoot.

Leanne is passionate about the studio, and this shines with what they have already achieved - her plans for the future will mean that this already fantastic studio will just continue to grow and offer new opportunities.

I am very fortunate to have such an amazing location on my doorstep, and will most definitely be back.

I shot at this beautiful place a couple of months ago and WOW, it's as gorgeous if not even more so than I thought it was going to be.

On arrival I went to the wrong place :D Thankfully Leanne was on the phone guiding me to the right one very quickly. I stayed overnight at basford for 2 evenings which I had my own private room with double bed and shower room or the option to use the beautiful big statement bathroom too.

The house is absolutely stunning, features so many gems to shoot from the wooden walls, floors, huge windows, staircases, fireplaces and bedrooms. There was an endless amount of options so every photographer that worked with me during my 2 studio days got such a variety of shots and also we ventured outdoors in the surrounding woodland and even the workshop too which offers something more rural and raw.

Leanne was a wonderful host as was her partner, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them both more and I truly look forward to being back there again in the near future.

I always find it funny how reference section questions if a studio showed up, as if it rocketed away somewhere like the house in Rocky Horror Picture Show...

After much antici....pation from pre-booking months ago, the day came to finally shoot at this amazing property, with Steph Easter. Pre-comms were sufficient and timely and in spite of working off a pre-2019 satnav system, good instructions as to the property location were given in the booking confirmation documents.

What more can be said about this amazing location than has already been said? Simon and Leanne are gracious hosts, with subtle welcoming details and touches to make it a personal occasion and, they welcome you into what is essentially their home, turned studio.

The studio is beautifully and tastefully appointed inside with period interiors being restored to the Cottage's era, elegant furnishings to suit and a developing garden area that, when finished, will be a stellar addition to the location. The weather was a little too iffy to explore the woodland areas too much but all the more reason to return at another time.

Definitely worth the 2hr drive and frankly there are fewer and fewer properties of its kind available to use as shoot locations in its nearby vicinities so, I am not surprised to see how popular Basford Hurst is with calendar bookings.

Already got a few ideas and projects in mind for future shoots and hope it's not too long before those can be realised.

I had my second shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage today with Rose Magdalene Child.Leanne and Simon were very welcoming and are the perfect hosts.The studio is a fantastic place to shoot with different rooms and and a good outside space.The shooting opportunities are endless would definitely recommend 100%.

Another fantastic shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio - which makes this a really easy reference to write.

Great comms, and on the day Leanne & Simon are friendly, professional, helpful where needed - and otherwise let you get on with things.

As for the location then just by looking at the portfolio you will see what a wealth of opportunities this allows - this is a million miles away from being a few backgrounds and an infinity curve, and is a whole load of different amazing spaces that can be utilised.

The weather is obviously something they can't control, but this time we were blessed with some good weather allowing shooting in the large private areas outside the main building - all of which is a pretty unique opportunity to leverage. Lots of woodland, a bridge, interesting features, plus some currently "more derelict" worksheds etc. all provide endless opportunities.

In case of bad weather we had a "plan B/C" of what to shoot indoors, and as well as the outside work also managed to use some of the other fantastic areas around the studio.

I hope you can tell I'm a big fan of the studio - it's honestly one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure to shoot, and I'm absolutely looking forwards to going back.

I had my third shoot at the very beautiful Basfordhurst cottage and I just fall more in love with it every time. It’s just stunning! It is so well loved and looked after inside and out, the rooms are just perfect for capturing the most dreamy shots and the woodland offers an extra location that is private and beautiful. Leanne and Simon go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome and are just the most lovely people. I always look forward to heading back to Basfordhurst and can’t wait for the next shoot there.x
