Hello!  I've been photographing seriously since 2011.  I re-started in off-road motor sport which is huge fun both to do (I did race, many, many moons ago!) and to photograph.  I joined a camera club to improve my photography (not sure that has worked!)  Almost by accident, I went to a group shoot where they were using a model.  Absolutely fell in love with the whole portrait photography thing there and then.  Since then that is what I've pretty much specialised in and I just love it :)

I particularly enjoy images with some impact to them, not shock, but impact.  I like a strong image, be it lighting or pose or look or any combination of those.  Much of my work is processed to mono as I think that removes the distraction of colour, allowing just the light to show.

I sometimes lean heavily against the boundaries of what might be classed as acceptable, but I'm always looking for the extraordinary, the best of the best of the best.

I prefer studio work as I have control over the light (and I don't have to worry about the weather) but also work in the fresh air if the location and timing and light are favourable.

My avatar is, unfortunately, pretty true to life...but I do smile more when someone isn't taking my photo!  (This is actually a real tin-type, taken and developed by a friend and I love it!)

I do take my photography seriously, but I try not to take myself too seriously!
