Second opportunity to use the wonderful Tardis that is Basford and made even more enjoyable by working with the lady of the manor herself - not that Leanne has any of the Margot about her.

The property is a Tardis it just keeps opening up around you and more than one visit is needed to really appreciate what you can create when there.

I attended a shoot day with Daniella Carter. Was met by Leanne who immediately asked if I wanted a drink and a tour of the whole house.

The house is amazing with lots of Nokes and crannies to shoot in, which we made use of in the short time we had as a slot.

I'd highly recommend this location. I didn't use any of the outside areas as the weather was a bit damp and overcast, but I think during the summer I'll be back for that area.

This was my first visit to Basford for a model day and I had a great experience!! Leanne was super helpful before and during the day of the shoot! She was very welcoming and ensured the day ran smoothly! The place itself is fantastic with loads of amazing spots for some very interesting photos. Many which I didn't get chance to use as the day went so quickly. I can not wait to get back there and do many more model days!! If you are thinking of shooting there, you won't be disappointed! This was my first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage with Daniella Carter. On arrival I was greeted by the owner Leanne who was very friendly and hospitable. I was introduced to Daniella and then given a thorough tour of the location including the woods outside and the numerous rooms inside. I was also shown how to use the studio lights. Basford Hurst Cottage is a stunning location, which I can highly recommend, and will definitely return.

I had my first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage recently. On arrival I was greeted by Leanne who was very friendly and took time to show me around and offer drinks. The property is in a great location and includes a wooded area outside, the numerous rooms inside give plenty of choice for shooting in, I was also shown how to use the studio lights.

After my first visit to Basford Hurst Cottage this is now my new favourite place to shoot!

Leanne, the owner, was kind enough to allow me to visit prior to the shoot to familiarise myself with the property and I fell in love with the place straight away. It is a beautiful old building oozing character with plenty of interesting features.

Externally there is a lovely garden and courtyard to shoot in, also a fabulous wooded location with a wonderful old wooden bridge over a stream. Inside the house there is a multitude of opportunities, the rooms are large, clean and tastefully decorated but still uncluttered with plenty of space for lighting equipment, although the beautiful natural light through the large windows means you don’t necessarily need any additional lighting.

It is the sort of place you can return to again and again (which I definitely intend to do) and always find something or somewhere new to shoot. Leanne and her partner are really welcoming and friendly, and there is a good supply of quality tea, coffee and biscuits provided which is always welcome!

I really enjoyed shooting here and would recommend it very highly in every way, Leanne has had a fantastic vision with this building and has created without doubt one of the best photography locations in the country.

Finally had the opportunity to shoot at Basford and had such a brilliant time - what a space!

Leanne was the most welcoming host, wonderful to have a chit chat with, always making sure we had all we needed and keeping us refreshed with teas and coffees.

The space is beautiful, with almost endless shooting opportunities both inside and out, and I definitely have more to explore (I need to visit again!). I can't imagine myself ever getting bored shooting here.

I had the best time at Basford. No word of a lie, I could spend every day for a year shooting here and I’d find something different and unique every time. The natural light is beautiful, the house is immaculate, the surrounding grounds gave such amazing opportunities. I seriously underestimated the amount of time I’d need to get the most from this location.

Miss C was a fabulous host and model, always ready with a cuppa and absolutely nailing it in front of the camera.

I already have my plans to come back for more and I cannot wait!

My second visit with the whole day booked for an AM shoot with resident model, MISS C, in the morning, and then a duo shoot in the afternoon.

Once again made to feel very welcome on arrival with no rush getting packed up at the end of the day.

I absolutely love this cottage, it has so much potential and opportunities to get creative throughout the property. I love the huge windows and altho it was overcast, I used it to create more silhouette and moody style images in the morning, along with plenty of other sets including boudoir.

The afternoon was filled with fun cosplay sets, taking advantage of the drawing room, chaise lounge, dining table and the fireplaces, with Miss C kindly shooting some behind the scenes for us.

I cannot recommend Basford enough, it is an outstanding photography location where I can't wait to visit again, sentiments echoed by both models.

For me, this is a must visit location for any enthusiastic or creative model or photographer, and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Well laid out & presented for endless possibilities, I could of spent all day here shooting.

Loved the personal touch in the dressing room too, a little welcome note personalised.

Sunday was my third visit to Basford Hurst Cottage.

It is a most wonderful place, full of character and oozing natural light. There are of course also many options to creat your own light too.

The owners, Miss_C and her partner are the ultimate hosts and they're if you need help but vanish discretely when you don't.

It has become my go to destination when funds allow and it's great that it is nearby so that last minute opportunities can be grabbed.

Well done for bringing this wonderful location to life and sharing with us creatives.

This was my first visit and I hope I will get back there again. I attended a lighting workshop with Owen Lloyd and Nicole Rayner, and having seen lots of images of the house it lived up to expectations ample space, lots of options, and a generally great space to work in.

Looking forward to returning soon, and would definitely recommend for a greta location shoot.

This was the fourth time I had visited Basford Hurst although the first when my model and I were the only people shooting. As everyone here will be aware, Basford Hurst is a superb location and in this instance made more so by our being the only ones there. When solo shooting there the choices of locations within, and without the house are many and varied. Needless to say my model and I took full advantage of this, although we only scratched to surface of what is possible.

As you will no doubt have guessed I am a huge fan of Basford Hurst, and this time my model and I stayed over.(Separate rooms of course.) The friendliness and hospitality shown to us by Leanne and Simon was wonderful and added to what was an amazing shooting experience. I can heartily recommend staying overnight should you need acommodation, as well as photographing, there. It really is a magical location and I have already booked again for next year to explore more of the gorgeous and unique shooting opportunities available.

Highly and enthusiastically recommended.

Visiting Basford Hurst for the first time, I had high expectations and these were more than surpassed during my time there. The studio is immaculate, with a wide variety of sets indoors and beautiful grounds to shoot in. To add to the charm of the house, Basford Hurst has a fabulously equipped dressing room.

During our two night stay myself and the photographer were able to experience the incredible hospitality of Leanne and Simon. They kindly accommodated every aspect of our stay, with personal touches that showed Leanne's dedication to giving guests the best experience and undoubtedly improved the quality of our work while we were there. Leanne entrusted me with her gorgeous corn snake Noodle and made us feel like valued members of house throughout our visit.

I cannot recommend Basford Hurst highly enough and greatly look forward to returning.

It’s a long drive from my home to Basford Hurst Cottage, but well worth the effort. This was my second visit, this time to shoot with Cariad Celis. The external landscaping had been finished since my previous visit and looks great.

As before, Leanne, the studio owner, greeted me with a cup of tea and a warm welcome. Whilst leaving us to get on with our shoot she was always available when we needed something, none more so than when the heavens opened whilst we were outside, and we needed towels to dry off.

I wanted to use natural light inside the house even though the weather was poor, and it was quite dark. Nonetheless, we found places where there was a lovely soft light making for some great images.

I hope to return soon on a bright day.

This was my second shoot at this prestigious photographic location although I have been there on several other occasions. Since my last visit the gardens renovations are now complete and wow what a fantastic place it is. As always the place was immaculate in every way.

After a welcoming chat with the owners I was able to set up my equipment and had the whole house and gardens at my disposal.

My shoot was with Kitty on her sold out studio day. We shot indoors and outdoors in several areas and it was most enjoyable.

I cannot recommend Basford Hurst Cottage (definitely a 5 star ⭐️ location) highly enough as it has everything you need as a photographer or model both indoors and outdoors.
