I had the privilege of working at Basford Hurst again yesterday. This was actually the 3rd time I'd worked here, this time with Ivory Flame and Cariad Celis. As always the welcome was lovely. I love this venue. There are so many options for the photographer. As well the light changes with the seasons and rooms and shooting areas can be endlessly revisited. The venue just has a great vibe. I've not yet shot in the grounds which again offer so many options. Maybe next time.

Yesterday's shoot, as always was superb. Leanne couldn't have been more helpful

Shot at basfordhurst cottage today with creative instincts i was super early but was welcomed by the lovely leanne and simon whos vibe instantly put me at ease and we began chatting and conversation flowed until my shoot time! Leanne gave me a tour and there was so much potential to shoot! So many rooms, so many options! After my shoot i had remembered i left my can of monster on the table went to collect it only to find Simon had put it in the fridge for me! Thankyou for an amazing time- i will be back! Highly recommend to anyone!

Was invited by Cariad to attend her and Ivory Flames studio day at Basford Hurst Cottage. Two great models and an opportunity to visit this studio for the first time - how could I refuse!

Welcomed by Leanne and Simon on arrival, soon a tea was in hand and given a tour of the studio rooms and gardens. A good many options and opportunities to shoot. From fully furnished bedrooms the blank canvas of the drawing room and the current work-in-progress gardens.

My time flew by, working a few short sets in different areas in order to get a feel for light direction through the large windows.

The only drawback - the 3+ hour drive each way, otherwise I'd be a frequent visitor I'm sure.

A great a space, with many great spaces, I'm sure to return.

Highly recommended and do try to arrange a shoot here - if you can find an opportunity of their calendar!!

Ivory Flame

Delightful to work again at Basford, this time a duo day with the gorgeous and lovely Cariad. I've enjoyed multiple days working at this venue now. It feels easy, relaxed, nourishing... and I'm still exploring new parts of the grounds, angles and light that falls in different areas depending on the season, time of day and weather. Both soft and strong light days have advantages at this wonderful place, unfolding scenes of joyful brightness and emotive mystery combined. The owners are always a pleasure! :-)

This was my first shoot at the studio and what a wonderful experience it was. Leanne and Simon are such lovely people and were very welcoming. I felt totally relaxed as soon as I met them. Leanne kindly showed me round the studio and what great facilities for photography both inside and out - thank you. There are so many opportunities at the studio that I could have shot there for many days and still not exhausted the possibilities! I was so lucky in booking this shoot with the very beautiful Ivory Flame and Cariad Celis. Thank you so much Leanne and Simon for the use of your wonderful cottage and also for the excellent coffee! I would love to shoot here again - it is magical - Thank you both again.

My first vist to Basford Hurst Cottage last weekend and it's fair to say it won't be the last.

On arrival I was greeted warmly by Simon,quickly followed by Leanne who was ready and eagre to shoot after we had a quick chat over a cuppa.

Leanne then gave me a guided tour......I had seen many photos from shoots by others,but it's only once your there that you get the real feel of the place.And what a place it is.....the natural light is the 'stuff of dreams' and there is lots of it scattered through the numerous rooms.It's almost overwhelming trying to decide where to start.....so much choice.

Suffice to say.....we had 6 hours to explore and delight with the place and worked our way through numerous sets.....aided by the fabulous light and Leanne's fabulous talents.

The garden is still undergoing a revamp and is only going to add more versatility to this superb studio.Was good to get outside for a little set though in between the rain and also some great shots in the outbuildings.

All in all,a fabulous day with superb hosts and so many fabulous shots with Leanne.......thoroughly recommend this venue and Leanne to all photographers and I very much look forward to returning.

Leanne and Simon were fantastic hosts, they couldn't do more for us and they gave us all the space we needed to get the work done with time to spare.

We only used one room and the rest was outdoors but the house is stunning (I am slightly jealous as I want it)

There are plenty of areas for scenary and lots of room to achieve any angle for your shots. Overall, Leanne, Simon and Basford Hurst are simply amazing and we look forward to going there again next month to take full advantage of everything the studio has to offer.

Just returned from a location share event I arranged at Basford Hurst Cottage for myself and 4 other photographers.

Came home absolutely buzzing from the shoot which I know has produced some of my best images in years (if not decades)!

Leanne's pre-event instructions and information were perfect to ensure the day went smoothly.

The location is amazing, the hosts (Leanne and Simon) were amazing and the models that came along were incredible.

Such a fantastic location for getting a real variety of shots in different areas with different backgrounds and different styles and lighting.

I can't wait for a return visit. Such a great day all round.

I was so lucky to have a shoot in Basford Hurst Cottage Studio! I have heard about it for a while and at least was invited to shoot with John Davis on this amazing location!This place is perfect, there is everything that you need and even more: Very comfortable changing room with a lot of attention to the details, where you can find a lot of usefull things for models (cotton pads, cotton sticks, micellar water and even jewelry), all over the house there are pleasant little things that make you smile and create perfect atmosphere.

The owners are absolutely great people. They met us at the entrance with a big smile and warm welcomes. Leanne offered me something to drink and was very kind to show me the house. Simon has an incredible star wars collection, the biggest collection I've ever seen, and i even had an opportunity to play an old style game machine.

All the locations are really wonderful and create a mysterious atmosphere of the past. Some rooms are almost empty to give space for movement and the opportunity to use the background, some have beautiful furniture and interesting props, such as a piano for example or a beautifully equipped bathroom. You can also enjoy a beautiful private forest with wonderful nature and a mystical bridge.

The owners are very easy and open minded, always happy to help and make everything to create a really cozy atmosphere. Thank you very much for the great location! Say hello to Noodles🐍. Hope to see you again soon🤗🥰

Fabulous place to shoot, from the variety of rooms to outdoor locations.

The hosts could not have been more welcoming and friendly- offering advice and coffee when asked.

Definitely will be returning, 100% recommend 👌

Well, here goes my second attempt at writing a reference for the fabulous Basford Hall Cottage Studio, as I managed to delete instead of editing my original post. I can only blame my advancing years!!

As you may have gathered from the first paragraph here my opinion of Basford Hurst is one of complete amazement and delight that such a fantastic location/studio exists within a relatively short distance from my home. This was my third visit here and certainly wont be my last. It is a wonderful place, immaculately clean and superbly decorated, creating the perfect atmosphere and ambience, and with many opportunities for shooting in the various rooms and staircases. The natural light flooding through the windows is a delight and makes gorgeous patterns of light and shadow. (Obviously flash is also allowed.)

Outside there are 3 acres of unspoiled woodland, a stream and bridge over and much dappled light available should the weather be hospitable. I haven't, as yet, had time to further explore the woodland but intend to on my next visit. There is also work going on outside to further add to the appeal of this magnificent venue.

Finally, Leanne and Simon are the most welcoming hosts you could wish to meet and it is a delight to chat with them especially over a cuppa which is invariably offered.

I can thoroughly recommend Basford Hurst as a location/studio to anyone.

My second shoot in a month at the cottage and it was interesting to see how much the landscaping of the garden had progressed in that time. Four hours there this time in the company of Georgia Brown and we used several areas that I had not shot in previously. Leanne was her usual friendly self providing us with refreshments and guiding us as needed but happy to leave us to have the run of the property as we wished . It really is an exceptional location to shoot in.

I had a very enjoyable and productive shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio with Ivory Flame.

The owner Leanne and her partner Simon are very friendly and welcoming hosts and are always willing to provide assistance if required. The cottage is a beautiful place to shoot with many locations and large windows providing loads of natural light. In addition, there are many great outdoor locations including the patio area and the large private woodland, stream and bridge. I had a half day there and feel I only scratched the surface of what is possible. It is certainly worth re-visiting to explore some of the other areas.

A great studio/location with wonderful hosts - thoroughly recommended.

I had my first shoot at Basford with the wonderful Ivoryflame and Simon was a great host. I didn't get to meet Leanne but I'm sure I will in the future. We just used natural light and a reflector so didn't need to both Simon too much. I used the room with the wooden stairs and the larger room with the large window. We the used the stairwell which is great left unpainted. We then went outside to the bridge and then too the outside space on the patio. I did use one of the bedrooms upstairs too.

Had a great time and I will be back and highly recommended.

My second shoot at this wonderful place near Leek was a duo/trio shoot with Nicole Rayner & Keira Lavelle and the owner Leanne (Miss_C) .

I couldn't have wished for a better place to do this photo shoot the light in the house (for that's what it is) is just superb and surrounding garden (OK 3 acre woodland) is just wonderful and so managed to get some fabulous images. Can't wait to go back, hopefully the garden which they are on with at the moment will be finished and add some more places to shoot.Highly recommend by me and here's to my next visit.

My first shoot at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio - and *spoiler* - it certainly won't be my last.

First of all the comms from Basford/Leanne were excellent - professional, comprehensive and included everything I needed to know in advance.

On the day Leanne/Steve were welcoming, friendly, professional - and after a cup of tea and a tour around left us to get up to our own devices, but were there if we needed anything on the shoot.

And then as for the location/studio - in short its fantastic. Lots of different areas, plenty of space / light / high ceilings etc. and a lot of unique things to utilise.

I was only there for two hours, so only scratched the surface of what was available, but I've already booked to go back again.

All in all very highly recommended, and well worth the trip......

Today I worked at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio for the second time the first on a one to one shooting basis.

Firstly thank you for helping with the AA and my non starting Teutonic vehicle.

This location is amazing the more you visit the more opportunities you see, the grounds offers great opportunities, Leanne is very helpful with setting up items to support my wacky concept ideas.

This location has so many small locations that you can use to create the quality images you are always searching for. Conscious I have 3 more events this year and then I may have scratched the surface of what is possible, always be conscious it is someone's home and respect that and you will have another premium quality location to support your hobby.

Very Highly Recommended.

Wow what a venue! Was part of the team running the secret con workshop today and I have to say the owners were amazing, accommodating and just generally lovely people.

The venue itself was everything a photographer could want, stunning room and outdoor areas. Could shoot there for days on end and still have more to shoot!

If you get the chance, shoot here, it’s by far one of true best venues I have ever shot at!

I shot at Basford Hurst Cottage for the first time yesterday as part of a cosplay photography I ran there. I honestly cannot recommend this venue highly enough. It is stunningly beautiful, and has a huge range of plcaes to shoot inside and out. We spent a full day there and still came away knowing we had not shot everything. It really does have everything you could ever want.

Leanne was fantastic from start to finish, extremely well organised, professional, accommodating and friendly with everyone who attended the event.

I will definitely be back!

Well, what can we say about this place??

Words just cannot describe how stunning this venue really is. We ran one of our Cosplay Photography Workshops days there this weekend, and it simply excelled in every aspect.

Tons of space and variation inside and out, and is ran by such lovely people who clearly have a passion for what they do. Leanne was extremely professional, well organised and could not do enough for us to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible.

I would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to shoot or run an event. You won't be disappointed. We will certainly be back soon.
