Had my first visit to Basford Hurst to work with vampire Princess on her Model Day.

A beautiful Building & surrounding areas. On arrival I was greeted by Leanne who had a welcoming smile & makes a great Coffee.

I already had a plan in mind before my arrival & the areas I wished to shoot in did not disappoint. I have worked with Vampire Princess previously so we got along really well & she had a good understanding of my lighting techniques.

Beautiful building internally & externally & I look forward to a future visit.

I booked Basford Hurst Cottage Studio some weeks back for a shoot with @RoxyM.

Leanne and Simon are very friendly and welcoming and once we were familiar with the place they left us to it. The place itself is amazing, loads of different spaces, great windows, floors, furniture, stairs, two bedroom sets, so many nooks and crannies to choose. You could spend a whole day there and never run out of ideas for the sets. Thoroughly recommended.

Yesterday I joined a John Duder Natural Light Workshop at Basford.

Leanne and Simon are making a haven for creatives and having Leanne as a model is the icing on the cake.

It is a friendly space, run professionally, and is just at the start of its no-doubt long existence!

For myself, more an artist than photographer, it gives no end of scope and inspiration both inside and outside and the options for so many things which is rare.

I highly recommend you go and meet Leanne and experience this evolving place for yourself.

Today I worked at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio for the first time as part of JD Tuiton Lighting workshop.

This new studio offers all levels of photographers a new and exciting environment in which to create great pictures.

Offering opportunities both inside and outside, with large windows the natural lighting in all rooms is exceptional.

The studio also has a number of architectural features that are great for enhancing you images, plus the have an excellent kettle and a ready supply of biscuits.

Outside a large wooded area offers great opportunities, the Studio is owned and staffed by a highly sociable couple who make you feel at home.

It may be a new addition to the photographic scene but I have a feeling it will be around for a long time.

Very Highly Recommended.

A couple of short visits to discuss possibilities for a workshop, and to make a few sample images, hadn't entirely prepared me for the experience of running a workshop at Basford Hurst Cottage: the vast number of possibilities meant that the workshop almost ran itself...

Five photographers fitted into the space easily, and were delighted, I think, at the ease with which one can find backgrounds around the house and garden.

There was a general feeling that it would be worthwhile to return and do more - which is perfect, from every point of view. I hope, too, that some of those present will feel that it'll be worthwhile to book the location and Leanne, the owner, for a one-to-one shoot.

The photos really speak for themselves frankly, but rest assured it is in fact even better than it looks!!

Incredible really, there's just so much! - Made good use of the majority of the downstairs, made for an excellent set of shoot environs.

Leanne is excellent also - impeccable pre-shoot Comms, every want catered for.

Entirely recommended, it goes without saying that I'm consulting my diary to book again - had hest try and beat me to it!

When a casting came up for a studio day at Basford Hurst Cottage Studio I could not resist the chance to visit what looked like a truly hidden gem. Pre visit comms were perfect and directions led us directly to the hidden oasis.

After a warm greeting by Leanne & Simon we were quickly offered welcomed refreshments after a long drive. The cottage studio is an amazing location to let your creative imagination loose making full use of the wonderful natural light that floods in throughout.

It was a very relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, and you couldn’t wish for better hosts or a better location. I will definitely be returning to watch how the studio develops as the outside locations. Thanks for your patience and i look forward to seeing you again very soon :)

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

I had a fabulous shoot with Jessica at my first visit to Basford Hurst Studio. Jessica was great to work with, I think we got on really well and had some amazing results from the shoot. Jessica's posing is 2nd to none and she is a really lovely lady to work with (and a great choice of clothing). Precomms absolutely superb - Directions the pin had us within 50ft of this dream location hidden in a beautiful woodland surrounding. The house is a fabulous rich wealth of beautiful features - somewhere even as a studio owner I want to revisit again and again. Model days like the one with Jessica Wall so much events not to miss plus Leanne & Simon are superb hosts

Everything ran very smoothly, so many opportunities at this location, it's absolutely stunning and I can't wait to be back already, thank you loads for having me.

I am sooooo glad I answered Simon's casting and got the opportunity to shoot here. There is sooooo much potential at this amazing house. There is a cute little changing area for the model. Basford Hurst is warm and spotlessly clean!

I can not wait to go back and see the outdoor grounds completed!

I had the privilage of working af Basford hurst cottage again last weekend , Absolutely love working there . There is so many opportunities to get amazing shots and all very different . Leanne greeted me at the door with a warm welcome as usual , shes very chatty and dead easy to talk to , Leanne is a great host and exceptional model to boot. if you are after a studio with character and charm then Basford is the place to be .

i had my first shoot here [ and not my last may i add ]. Communication with the studio before the shoot was excellent ,This place is a jewel in the crown ,excellent for all types of your photography needs ,weather it be Natural light or studio lighting i did a 4 hour shoot , and ony touched the tip of the iceberg here. Each room is magnificent in its own special way,its a photographers dream .

Leanne is a beautiful human on the inside and out, not only is she a wonderful host with a truly exceptional space - she is an amazing model who I had the pleasure of shooting a set with!

Simon her partner is a brilliant man, lots of laughs, cool stories and just a general amazing atmosphere throughout the entire day with lots of coffee!

My first solo studio day at Basford Hurst Cottage (and definitely not my last!)

Welcomed by the gorgeously kind Leanne, who made me feel right at home as soon as I arrived. A tour of the impressive building and grounds got me super excited to create some magic during my day here!

I don't think it would be possible to run out of ideas at Basford; every corner, stair and even door boasts personality and fills you with creativity..

Looking forward to coming back already! Definitely recommended by me.

Had the opportunity to shoot one of my favourite models in a new location and wasn't disappointed. Basford Hurst Cottage is a stunning location with unique features, after a thorough tour by Leanne and with the time I had we decided to utilise the features on the ground floor, but I will explore the stunning features on the first floor at my next visit. The Cottage has extensive gardens although didn't have the time to explore and a threat of rain kept us indoors.

Basford Hurst Cottage comes highly recommended and shall be returning hopefully during the summer!!

As with other commenters on this for reference I am at a loss as to how to explain how superb, wonderful, fantastic, outstanding, sublime, stimulating this place is to work in, all the rooms give a massive amount of picture taking opportunities, the hosts Leanne and Simon (Thanks for the tea) are excellent and look after you from the moment you enter the building, it's like being at home when working there. My shoot today was with a model doing a day of shooting and to be honest the results we obtained on the shoot were brilliant. The studio has wonderful natural lighting, a wealth of rooms and locations to shoot in and also has studio lights, reflectors/modifiers to meet everyone's needs. The place is a true gem, and I shall be returning again and again over the coming months, a photographer's dream come true to work in. Very, VERY highly RECOMMENDED to both models and photographers.
