Had the pleasure of doing a shoot with Steve at the art Assylum yesterday. What a really nice gent. Made me feel welcome and comfortable.

We had a great shoot and created lots of brilliant images . His studio was impressive and he is a very skilled photographer.

I was fortunate enough to host a studio day here which ran effortlessly.

Steve is a gracious host and made sure everyone was well catertered for, running to time and well stocked with tea and coffee.

The studio is a massive space compared to others on the South Coast, with two large rooms to shoot in and plenty of unique nooks and crannies to shoot in.

There is plenty of equipment and Steve is brilliant at being on hand to help out without being overbearing.

You can see why this Studio is on Twisted Edge Magazine's list of approved studios. It's ran well and ensures that model safety is one of its top priorities

This was my 2nd visit to the studio, when I last visited it was awesome, and this time it was even better!!

Steve has made a couple of changes and added a few more details, adding to its beauty. I think it’s the little details that make a big difference. When we shot a boudoir set, I felt like I was in an apartment chilling in the beautiful bedroom. Beautiful wooden floor planks full of character and feeling.

The infinity wall is so good, being a tall model, having high ceilings is a bonus! This studio ticks so many boxes for me. It is literally equipped with everything you need. It’s a photography dream!

I can’t wait to come back again

Thank you Steve for being a great host!!

Very highly recommended from me

It had been a long time coming but I finally was booked to work at art asylum! In such a convenient location which a wealth of costumes, accessories, backdrops and overall facilities, I can’t have asked for a better place to shoot.

The studio has such a versatile look that anyone can find something that they like and it is the kind of studio I can imagine working at again and again and creating new and Interesting images every time.

Role on the next shoot!

The studio is in a great old converted Victorian Wearhouse with a lot of character.

Steve was very helpful and on hand to give advice and guidance (and a lot of tea!) throughout the shoot.

With the quirkiness of the studio there are endless possibilities for different shoot scenarios.

I would highly recommend the Art Asylum.

I got to shoot at art asylum ran by Steve and I’m ever so glad I did, it is a wonderful space with SOOOOO much opportunity - high quality props, furniture and lighting!

Not to mention Steve makes a real good coffee, we really did have a good day in the end. Very much hope to get back, waymouth is also beautiful, so travelling to stay felt like a little beach side break!

Highly recommended

First time back at the studio for a while and it was sooo good to be back! Steve approached me regarding a shoot which he thought I'd be well suited to- which I were most flattered by and jumped at the chance! As this was a BDSM product shoot, I asked Steve if he was happy to be present at all times-as my chaperone, which he was grateful to do and helped with straps, fastenings etc and ensured I were happy and comfortable at all times. Steve laid out the rules to the designer and photographer before hand and assured me of him doing so. The shoot was amazing, coffee on tap. Lovely people, awesome captures in a perfect setting for what was required. Love making use of the large dressing room here too 🤪!! Thankyou! See you again soon!

I had a studio day today at Art Asylum and it was just fantastic!!

The studio is full of everything you could need. An infinity wall and lighting in one room, and a complete New York style apartment/bedroom set up with the most beautiful natural light in the other room, complete with a free standing cast iron bath with gorgeous feet.

The dressing room is really spacious and has a mirror with lighting, lots of outfits, and shoes, shoes, and more shoes!!

Steve is the best host! He kept a flow of coffee which is an absolute winner for me, and with it being so warm, Steve made sure I was cool all day by making sure I had a nice cool fan blowing on me!

I had the best day shooting at the studio and I can’t wait to come back soon…..

Thank you Steve for being so awesome!

Steve allowed me the use of his studio for a shoot. The studio is well equipped, spacious, good lighting, and full of little treasures!

With full use of a bed, a dresser, a bath with coloured balls, couches, rugs, and a private dressing room, with plenty of outfits options should you not have enough of your own, or if yo just fancy shooting in something different!

Would definitely recommend Art Asylum Reloaded, dead cheap, and worth every penny!

I booked Steve's studio for a shoot with a new model and we were both delighted with the results. Steve is an excellent host and looked after us throughout the stay. The studio is well kitted out, versatile and has just the right amount of sets and props. There is beautiful light into the natural light end of the studio and the sets in there are particularly beautiful to shoot in. Will definitely be back soon.

I had my first studio day at Art Asylum yesterday and loved every moment. I felt at ease straight away and was so well looked after! The studio is fun, quirky and it instantly gave me so many posing ideas.

The whole day I was made to feel like a star. I left with the biggest smile on my face. I'll definitely do another studio day at Art Asylum in the near future.

I highly recommend 👌

I had my first studio day at the wonderful Art Asylum on Saturday, hosted by Steve.

Pre- communications were excellent, the studio was pre-set up for the first photographers request and the studio was warm which is a bonus!

Steve was very lovely, a good laugh and kept the day flowing with ease. I loved my time at the studio and Steve has already said he would welcome me back which is lovely to hear!

100% would recommend :)

Another studio day at Art Asylum Reloaded, this time with the fabulous Mel Tongue. Got there a few minutes early so Steve made me a cuppa (top man!) while we discussed the first set. I'm normally self-sufficient when it comes to lighting, but my first set was complex (mirrors and multiple exposures) and Steve was on hand to help: moving lighting and a very large mirror and assisting with light positions etc, all the while making sure that Mel was OK for drinks etc. Can't recommend the place highly enough nor Steve who is always happy to help...and makes a great cuppa too :)

Another successful studio weekend last month at the Art Asylum Reloaded. As always Steve is a fab host, the studio is well equipped and even jaffas provided :)

It's a fab space for both studio lighting and natural light shooting

As always very highly recommended!

What a studio day - the owner really makes this place! The studio itself is beautifully raw with areas of exposed brick, piping, beams, and even a cyc wall. It's organised very well and has lots of unique features.

The owner of the studio is approachable, professional, welcoming, and supportive. He made sure I was fed, watered, and had a heater pointing at me all day! He is great at knowing when he's needed and dipping in and out of shoots as often as is appropriate.

I cannot wait to go back to this incredible space to shoot some more unique content! Thank you Art Asylum Reloaded, for hosting me!

I had another fanastic shoot at Art Asylum Reloaded on Thursday.

I made full use of the studio's massive white wall and also distressed brick walls on this visit. Althouth the studio also has a great natural light room, I mainly used studio lighting for this shoot.

The studio has a great selection of lights, backdrops and props. Steve, the owner, is a great host. He is very helpful but also able to sit back and just let a photographer do their own thing.

Very highly recommended.

I had a shoot booked on the Marissa Eva studio day, I shot for two hours, using only the natural light area. There is plenty of scope for boudoir and glamour in this area. It has a bed, a bath, and a corner fire place. The wooden floors, fake plants, and bare walls add atmosphere and texture to the images.

Equipment wise, I used battery powered lighting panels, which proved more the adequate, but could have move the studio lights in in to area if I had wanted.

The studio owner, Steve, is very helpful with lighting, but can also keep out of the way to leave the photographer to their own devices.

The studio has quite a good selection of props and clothes if required.

Art Asylum is my go to studio, as I live along the coast in Bournemouth, and I shall be returning in a month or so.

I’ve shot at the studio many times now. Steve the owner is very friendly and easy to communicate with. He’s always adding new props to the studio and keeps the space well maintained.

Steve is always very helpful and gives you privacy to get on with the shoot. Would recommend working at the studio.
