5 years or so since I last visited and as good, if not better, than I remembered.
Steve has worked hard building the studio up and is shows. Expanded shoot areas, with a great infinity curve, tons of lights, modifiers and props and then a separate area with a space for various sets (boudoir and gothic this time).
Ample help from Steve, if needed, otherwise you are left to your own devises...
100% recommended by me and as my parents have now moved that way, am sure I will visit a lot more often...

I spent two days here just recently, Steve is a fabulous host who looked after me so well! Many cups of tea/coffee and and an unlimited supply of cookies!
The studio space is spacious and asll equipped for various different sets,
I honestly felt very at home, loved the quirkiness of the place, all the photographers were lovely.
I hope to return to The Art Asylum soon.
Steve keep doing what you're doing.
5 stars from me ♡

A warm, friendly welcome from Steve, expert lighting advice and set ups, and well timed cups of caffeine. :)
What more could I ask for?
Well a great model! And I got that too with Alice Fox. :)
A two hour shoot was so, too short. However, I had a very enjoyable and creative time, so would heartily recommend both Steve and the studio, to all other photographers. Thanks again, Steve.

For the second time I was hosted in this wonderful studio. I spent two intense and really beautiful days!
Everything is very professional, Steave takes care of every detail, the sets are beautiful and perfectly cared for.
Steave was very nice to me, he took care of me and worried if I was tired or not.
Certainly there was laughter with him and Antonia in the moments of break.
In addition, Steave was a great helper with the materials 😂 and helped me to make the photos even more beautiful.
Thank you very much, see you soon

I had another great studio day at Art Asylum, Steve is an amazing host, he is very attentive and always makes sure the models are fed and watered and ensures you are warm enough.
The studio is great, with lots of opportunities to shoot and Steve is always on hand if needed. The photographers I had the opportunity to work with, were great. Very easy to get along with and professional.
I cannot wait to attend this studio again :)
If you haven't been to Art Asylum, i would highly recommend that you do

Another fabulous studio day at Art Asylum Reloaded, one of my favorite studios to work in. I’m always happy to see familiar photographers, and each shoot is a creative, fun, and inspiring experience. A huge thank you to Steve for always encouraging everyone to give me the freedom to be creative and choose my outfits, making every session unique and exciting. Steve puts so much effort into finding photographers, filling the slots, and ensuring everything is good organized and everyone are happy.
He’s always on hand to help photographers achieve their perfect shots, whether it’s moving furniture, setting up lights, or finding fun props. He’s an incredibly smiley, kind, and friendly presence to have around. Steve is also mindful of everyone’s comfort, ensuring the studio is warm and cozy, playing great music, and keeping the tea flowing all day long.
The studio itself is clean and well-organized, with properly arranged outfits and a comfortable changing room, complete with a great mirror and lighting.Steve is always adding new props, outfits, and sets to the studio, so there’s always something fresh and exciting to work with.
Also Steve makes sure there’s time for lunch and is always happy to assist with anything I might need, including helping with my heavy suitcase, even when it’s broken! He’s just a lovely person to chat with, and he even helps with parking, making sure everything is convenient.
Thank you again for another fantastic studio day—I can’t wait to return and catch up with all the familiar photographers. The studio is such a fun, creative space, perfect for producing unforgettable images. Thank you, Steve, and I hope to see you again soon!

It's been over a year since I last visited the studio and can confirm that it just keeps getting better and better. Steve is a great host and is always there to help when needed.
A great studio space with all the lighting and modifiers you will ever need. And also a fantastic natural light room.
A highly recommend studio.

Having shot at The Art Asylum various times before, I was chuffed to be invited back and was not disappointed. Steve and Mel are brilliant at creating various set ups and the studio is so unique in the backdrops and natural elements it has. With cups of tea always on hand, you never feel left alone by Steve and as a model, that's a huge plus. Thanks again :)

It was good to return to Art Asylum Reloaded Photo Studio for a boudoir group shoot with Mel4nie. This studio is well equipped and the owner, Steve makes everyone welcome. He is friendly and very creative, plus makes a good cuppa!
The shoot was well run and everyone enjoyed the relax atmosphere and banter. I am happy to totally recommend this studio and look forward to my next visit!

Have worked at the Art Asylum a couple of times now, and have found it welcoming and well kitted out.
Steve welcomes you with coffee, enthusiasm and a whole lot of help when needed.
This time I was working with Kate Ferox on a studio day, what an absolute wicked shoot.
Shot Boudoir and some dark and moody images, could not be happier how this shoot went.
Thank you Steve for a wicked shoot.

What a fab studio!
This was my first time visiting art asylum reloaded and while it was a bit of a journey for me, it was definitely a fab shoot and well worth a visit. There's various 'sets' as well as the main studio roll down, a decent sized dressing room, refreshments, and a tonne of costumes, shoes and accessories available to experiment with too. Owner Steve if fab; knowledgeable and helpful as well as friendly and easy to get on with. I've had my eye on the studio for ages and am so pleased I finally got to visit it!

Steves been a friend for about 10 years and i really feel more than a little guilty for not visiting his studio earlier. In my defence i usually work natural light and have Studland Bay House to play in, but Steve has two great shooting areas and a ton of cool gear (which i dont know how to use) and specifically a natural light room that could have been made for me!
Plenty of coffee, help on hand when im brave enough to dabble in studio lighting after about 15 years of NL only, a great model line up, easy nearby parking and a nice, relaxed vibe.
Whats not to like!
Thanks Steve. I'll be back

Wow wow wow!
What a fantastic weekend i’ve had modelling at this brilliant studio! This was my first time visiting Weymouth and I was blown away by how lovely this little corner of the world is. I’ve never been to a studio this close to the sea before, it’s just so beautiful.
Steve’s pre-comms before my studio weekend were excellent. He would message me back straight away and he kept me posted whenever we would sell a slot. I’m so grateful to have had a fully sold out weekend and the photographers he has using his studio are all lovely and very respectful and professional, just like him.
When I arrived, Steve made me feel right at home. He has the same sense of humour as me and is very friendly and welcoming. I cannot fault him as a host for both models and photographers. He was on hand at all times incase we needed assistance, nothing was any bother for him.
The studio is well equipped and very spacious with lots of furniture and props/shoes/accessories. There are also many different sets which you can use - I particularly loved shooting against the brick wall in the natural light! So many opportunities and different areas to shoot in which is brilliant. The changing area was one of the best I’ve seen too, plenty of space to get ready and stocked up with makeup wipes, hairspray, hair bands etc which are all essential model items :)
I enjoyed every minute of my weekend and I can’t wait to visit again!
Thank you so much for having me!
Hattie x

Had a great two hour shoot at Art Asylum today. I’ve previously done a couple of group training sessions there - one run by Steve the owner together with Mike Gardiner ( see Mikes reference for details of the studio) and another run by Team Black. Both were really useful days and Steve is certainly the perfect host. Some great sets there too. I highly recommend giving it a try if you’ve not been before - you won’t be disappointed.

This time around we shot remote at Steve's studio.
I highly recommend working with this studio. His experience and gear is undoubtedly the best. What ever lighting or ideas you have he will execute them. If you book remotely for a shoot, Steve will contact you early before the shoot to give you time to choose and get the set ready before your shoot time. That is not done often by other studios, as you have to get it all done with model and team there during shooting hours. So time wasted in my opinion. He is efficient and wants your shoot to be easy.
I am very happy with the results and the lighting in all the photos was perfect.
Booking again in the near future. Rates are reasonable as well.

Will cover 2 studio days with this ref: Kate Star on 3rd Aug and Hattie Grace on 10th. Perhaps I'm biased because I use the studio a lot, but it really does have more than your average studio to offer: infinity wall with black background on curtain rail when required; old, bare floorboards; bare brick walls; lovely natural light in the other room; bedroom set and a couple of window sets too. Plenty of lighting, both mains and battery, more modifiers than you can shake quite a few sticks at including a huge (5ft) octabox and a new 24" rice bowl.
Tea and coffee and biscuits (until the seagulls ate them - Steve feeds them!) all included. Steve is on hand to help with lights, whether changing modifiers or adding gels or setting them up to get the effect you want.
Steve really looks after the models he has in the studio, making sure they have enough to eat and drink, they're warm enough or cool enough: nothing is too much trouble.
I think it is plain to see from the success of his Studio Days that Art Asylum Reloaded is a great venue, whether as a photographer or a model :)

It’s been a little while since I last made it down to Weymouth but it was good to pop down to shoot with Kate Star on her studio day.
Steve is a great host and was very helpful with getting the lights how I wanted them plus sorting out the different backgrounds along the way.
I only used a fraction of the studios potential on this shoot as I was shooting everything on the curve, it was good to remind myself of what I could do there for future shoots.
Had a great shoot with Kate plus a good natter along the way and the results speak for themselves.
Thanks for a good trip down, hope to be back with less of a gap between shoots this time around.

Had my first studio day here on Saturday!
AARS has such a comprehensive wardrobe that I found myself diving into between shoots to accessorise and really pull together the outfits I had brought along - it’s brilliant to be able to have a change from the usual bits I use. Makes it all the more fun.
Steve was always there to provide me with information before the day and happy for my partner to sit in the studio as my car had gone tits up which meant I was relying on him for transport. This is really appreciated, thank you.
On the day, everything went smoothly and I had a great time with all the people who had booked.
Steve shot for one of the days clients and he was professional throughout and happy to show back of camera shots which is always helpful!
Very happy with the results!
Steve was on hand for anything that I needed which made everything so much easier on my end. Cups of tea, a bowl to wash my face, towels, swords… you name it!

Well yesterday was such a fantastic and successful day. I absolutely love working at the Art Asylum in Weymouth. As always it was a great experience from start to finish. As soon as I arrived Steve had the kettle on. I wasn’t feeling my best and he definitely looked after me. Steve is such a wonderful host. You never go without anything! We always have a great laugh together too! Even when I was shooting he nipped to the shop for me to get me a couple of snacks to keep my energy up. I throughly enjoyed myself and I’m so looking forward to working there again soon. He has a beautiful set up in his studio so getting amazing images is a breeze! Thankyou for your kindness and amazing hospitality Steve! Hope to see you again very soon! If you haven’t worked at this studio you must!!! Highly recommended studio and studio owner! X
