A Quick Guide for Reporting Issues

Reporting issues is the only way to resolve them, and we can only do this if we are made aware of them.

You can report many things on PurplePort, such as accounts (profiles), references, messages, groups, group posts, images, casting calls, events, and more. All reports and information provided to us are confidential, and only the PurplePort Admin team (full-time staff members) will see this.

Profiles

View their profile (portfolio page) and from the grey cog, click Report this profile (near the bottom of the menu). A new box will appear where you can add any information about why you think this profile should be reported, along with a reason from the drop-down menu at the top. Then click Report.

You can report profiles for abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour on a shoot or elsewhere, profiles you are suspicious about, level pushing either in messages, on a shoot, or elsewhere, or profiles that seem wrong to you.

Note: If you have a police crime number (or log number), we can make a note of it as it may be helpful for future reference. We keep notes and records of every report on a profile. If we can see a pattern of behaviour, then we will remove that person from PurplePort.

References

If you believe a reference is inaccurate, please report it by clicking Report next to the reference.

There is an option to provide additional notes if you leave another member a Did show up, but is not recommended reference. These additional notes are confidential and only seen by the PurplePort Admin team (full-time staff members). You can use these notes to provide confidential information to us about your shoot experience.  

Note: If someone does not recommend you, we won't force them to change their reference. Also, if you failed to show up for a shoot or cancelled the shoot with less than 24 hours' notice, they are within our rules if they leave a Did not show up reference regardless of the circumstances. If you cancel a shoot with less than 72 hours' notice, they are entitled to leave a late cancellation reference. All of the preceding things are for you to work out between you and the other party.

Messages

View the message and click Report (beneath the message). A pop-up window will appear where you can write information about why you are reporting this message. Then click Report to Admin. You can report messages you think are spam, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate.

Groups

View the group, and from the grey cog select Report this group. A new box will appear where you can add any information about why you think this group should be reported, along with a reason from the drop-down menu at the top. Then click Send.

You can report abusive, threatening or inappropriate groups, or groups you don't think belong on PurplePort.

Group posts

View the post and hover over it, click Report and a pop-up box will appear and click Yes. This brings up a new window where you can write some information about why you are reporting this post. When you’ve finished, click Send.

You can report if it is spam, abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour, inappropriate content, it looks like a casting call or event, it’s inappropriate for PurplePort, it’s against site policies, it’s a duplicate post, or it’s a rant or looks like a rant.

Images

View the image, and from the grey cog select Report this image. A new box will appear where you can add any information about why you think this image should be reported, along with a reason from the drop-down menu at the top. Then click Report.

You can report inappropriate images, copyright violations, or images that violate our Image Upload Guidelines or that are not correctly marked as NSFW/Adult.

Removal of images at the request of the copyright holder

For images to be removed by the copyright holder, we will need to see evidence that you own the copyright to the image. This could be by providing either a link to the same image in your portfolio or emailing us a copy of the original version (full-quality pre-edit jpegs or raw files) of the image to the email address admin@purpleport.com. Please make sure you state the evidence used or the reason behind the image report in the support ticket provided.

Image comments

View the image, click Report beneath the image comment. A box will appear asking you why you are reporting, and you can add some text as to why. Then click Report and Delete. The comment will then be reported to us and automatically be deleted.

You can report unsolicited critique, inappropriate content, sleazy comments, or if someone is asking to be contacted in image comments.

Casting calls

View the casting call, go to the grey cog (top right) and click Report.

You can report casting calls posted as collaboration/trade/TFP that are asking for payment, posted on behalf of someone else, include irrelevant locations, irrelevant account types, spam-like casting calls, casting calls asking for or offering model/photographer interaction, casting calls for non-members or third parties.

Competition entries

View the image and click Report. In the pop-up, select a reason from the drop-down options at the top and add any additional information about why you are reporting the image. Then click Report entry.

You can report a competition entry for inappropriate content, copyright violation, website policy violation, non-SFW image in a SFW competition, breaking competition rules, or images that violate our image upload guidelines.

What happens when issues are reported to us?

Once you submit your report, we will send you a confirmation email of your new support ticket and notify you each time we reply to it.

It can take up to 72 hours for us to respond

We usually respond to support tickets within 24 hours, but it can take up to 72 hours (depending on the volume of other issues our team is dealing with). We reply to 100% of the support tickets sent to us, so please be patient as we will get back to you as soon as we can. 

The type of action we may take 

We investigate all reports and take appropriate action when necessary. The action could include specific things, such as closing a casting call, deleting a group post, changing the safety setting on an image or removing a competition entry, as well as other things such as making a note on an account, issuing a warning, suspending abilities on an account (e.g. the ability to send messages), temporarily suspending an entire account or even permanently banning an account.

We dislike banning people and would rather never have to do it. But it doesn’t matter who you are, how long you’ve been on PurplePort, or how many references you have; we will ban you if you do not abide by the rules.

For serious incidents that you feel require the police or any other authority, we suggest you take further appropriate action outside of PurplePort.

First-hand reports are important

The safety of our members is paramount. We understand it can take a lot of courage to report something to us, but it is important that we hear about issues first-hand. 

Inappropriate or threatening behaviour should always be reported to us. Serious incidents reported to us are always noted on the account so that we can take action if we see a pattern of behaviour forming.
