It was a pleasant experience in all aspects.

Great studio, he made me feel comfortable since the first minute.

Professionally he's absolutely amazing, enthusiastic and he knows how to direct and prompt the model in the right direction.

Just finished my second shoot with Nic, I could work with him every day and not get bored. Nic is full of incredible ideas, works in a very controlled yet experimental manner which I just adore. Always end up doing something new, and his space is just wonderful for it.

Nic is always courteous, a complete gentleman and an all round great bloke. I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather work with when getting covered in cream and milk. Smelling like stale dairy on the way home can't be pleasant for everyone else on the bus but we've got some great shots from the look of the BOC and can't wait to see the results. Totally worth it ;)

Nic allowed me the use of Black Barn once again, this time for my own 4-hour shoot with two models. He was very helpful with lighting, meeting my requests and making suggestions. He helped the models out with clothing suggestions, and assisted me with some of the props he has on hand. I really enjoyed working in the studio, despite the blazing heat. I would really like to work with Nic again, in whatever studio he happens to use.

Definitely recommend!

Just finished another 2 awesome days at Blackbarn. Nics is one of my favourite studios, So many cool props and things to do. Literally nothing is impossible for Nic to set up. He is a magician!

We have done a lighting workshop and a studio day, both went really well and cant wait to see the images! Nic is a genius with lighting and makes everything look amazing!

I'm normally so busy they I don't get chance to have a proper shoot with Nic with a few ideas, we normally just get enough time to shoot a set haha! However this time we had time and my god I'm so n love with the images I saw on the back of the camera! We did some erotic and pin up stuff and it was such a giggle! Nic is so easy to work with, talk to, approach the lot.

Literally cant recommend him more! LOVE working with him.

Just Imagine

I was lucky enough to get a place in Nic Marchant's "Lighting the Curves" workshop today in Blackbarn Studio, and what a fantastic day I had. I learnt an enormous amount from him, his demonstrations of using studio lighting and guidance in shooting the beautiful and vivacious model LottiRose were absolutely what I exactly what I was looking for. Nic's considerable experience in theatre stage lighting clearly showed in his approach to the subject, his friendly and approachable style made this a really enjoyable learning experience. Nic's Blackbarn studio is an amazing place, so full of wonderful props and stage settings, but with lots of space for really taking advantage of the wonderful facilities.

I hope to work with Nic again, and would love to have the opportunity to work in his Blackbarn Studio again.

Attended a lighting workshop/studio day with Nic and LottiiRose, and learned a TON about how to do lights from Nic, who seems a master of his craft! Studio was set up brilliantly, and he was very informative about why he set up the lights the way he does, and how to make best use of the model poses and location with regards to the lights.

Will definitely be shooting here again, and definitely recommend to get in there ASAP!

Had an amazing shoot with Nic today at the studio. It was my first time shooting pin-up style and he was really good at directing so I already feel confident to do that style again. Prior to the shoot Nic sent me a mood board so I could come prepared and he provided most the outfits. He made sure I was comfortable and the shoot was a lot of fun! The studio is also amazing, spacious, warm and has an excellent changing/make-up room. Hope we get to work together again in the future and I highly recommend him to other models

This was only my second visit to Blackbarn Studio! The only reason being it's quite far from me! If I was local I'd shoot there all the time!

I think it's one of the best studios. Firstly although it's really big, it's always war

There is lots of space! A huge dressing room for models filled with so many cloths and shoes etc!! The props are amazing!!! Mic has a background in theatre design which really shows as his props and clothing/accessories are key! They make the studio in my opinion as so many of them Are so unique and interesting!

A great selection of backdrops and lots of other options too - such as Ariel or the ability to create entire sets! Mic is so creative which is really great!

I was there with a very good photographer so Nic wasn't needed much - though he is always happy to help if it is needed! He is great guy and very easy to get on with!

Highly recommended by me!

This was the 59th shoot at Nic's studio, so I felt it was time to give a reference. The studio space is very large and high. There is an amazing selection of props including a stage area which is fantastic for saving the photographers knees. Nic is always on hand to help and offer advice when required. Nic is a fantastic guy and he has an amazing studio, I don't shoot anywhere else any more, there really is no need to, Nic's has all you could ever need. I highly recommend this studio, it's close to the motorway and rail links, the perfect studio in the perfect location.

Literally just finished my shoot with Nic, and wow what a shoot it was! Nic is incredible, funny and extremely professional. I cannot believe how quick the shoot went! And we got so much done too, genuinely one of my most fun shoots to date.

I cannot fault the pre-comms, everything about the shoot was spot on and the studio space is just fantastic. I could not ask for more when working with a like-minded creative.

All I can say is, if you get the chance to shoot with Nic, do it. You will not be disappointed, 100% recommended without a shadow of a doubt. Thanks again, Nic! Can't wait to see the results.

Yet again another awesome shoot at Nics place! Hes so lovely and nothing is ever any trouble. Hes always happy to help in whatever way he can!

His lighting is out of this world. He can pretty much achieve anything.. Though the studio its self is one of my favorites, its so big, has SO many props and things to play with!

This time I got to have fun with the snow machine! We made a complete mess and then I watched and laughed as they tried to sweep up foam :D

Always relaxed and fun, I don't even have a bad word to say! 100% Recommended!

Had an amazing shoot with Nic at his studio on Sunday! It was my first shoot with him, and it was one of my favorite! He wanted to shoot two models (Betty Red & myself) in Pin-up style on vintage motorcycles. We had great pre-shoot comms. On the day, he knew what he wanted but trusted my creative styling as well. After I transformed myself & Betty into Pinup models, we had a brilliant day of shoots in latex, dresses and lingerie on the motorcycles. He gave great feedback during the shoot. He had snacks and tea laid out for us. He was amazing to work with and so much fun to be around! I can't wait to work with him again. Everyone should get the chance to work & shoot with Nic!

Nic’s workshop was great experience for me. Nic’s knowledge and experience of photography is fantastic. I learnt a lot about vehicle photography and picked up some good general photography tips.

Chatting to Nic was a pleasure, and not just about photography. No problems holding decent and interesting conversations.

Even though Nic claims to be a terrible host (he isn’t), his cuppa tea and mince pies were great. 

The studio has very good space and Nic impressively manages to keep it comfortably warm considering it is a very large barn. Nic has many interesting props available for shoots in the studio.

My first time being at the studio and meeting Nic, well what can I say... days like this remind me of why I enjoy modelling.

The day went smoothly and Nic was very welcoming and made sure I was happy and comfortable throughout with breaks and cups of tea and coffee and a lovely model changing room. He had two amazing bikes in the studio and at the end of the day he took some images himself, he was really creative and we had a lot of fun and what I saw on the back of the camera looked amazing!

A brilliant photographer, very welcoming and friendly studio owner and a lovely person who was easy to talk to and very interesting.

I'd highly recommend him to absolutely anyone!

Had my first shoot with Nic today at his studio, which is amazing!

It went so well, Nic had great ideas and knew what he was looking for when we were doing a set. He was great with direction and suggestions but also letting me move freely.

Definitely knows what he is doing! Would highly recommend!

I was lucky to be the model for Nic's Girl on a motorbike workshop on Saturday the 17th of September and with one word amazing !

Nic is a great tutor and host and his studio is one of the most spacious and well equipped studios I've ever seen .

I also got to shoot with Nic towards the end of the day and the photos I've seen so far are looking just perfect !

Highly recommended to all by me , Nic is a joy to work with very professional and an experienced photographer !!
