Into Darkness

I'm always amused at the option to say whether a studio showed up, but the building was most definitely there. Sinopa Rin was the boss of the day and directions to the newer access were nice and clear (can't really miss the great big arrow pointing, but guess which idiot with two thumbs still wasn't sure? That's right, this guy. Eyyyy)

Studio is not your run of the mill white infinity cove with a handful of lights. Yes, there's lights and there are backdrops but oh my, there are sets. I've already got another 2 or 3 ideas brewing for a future shoot there now and really shouldn't have left it this long to venture there.

Definitely a studio on my list of "pretty darned good studios that have a bit of character to them". And that natural light availability is going to be GORGEOUS later in the year.

Noice.

Great first shoot at Fareham Studio. It was great to have Andy and his expertise on hand - his homemade gels were a godsend and really helped improve the shots we had planned. The studio provides such a variety of spaces that you get a variety of looks within one shoot.

Had my first shoot since the studio was opened up on two floors. Plenty of different areas to shoot in, tastefully done and plenty of lighting and modifiers to choose from. Andy was present to assist with the lighting set ups and to give friendly advice. All this comes at a reasonable hourly rate.

Highly recommended.

Cheers Andy.

I had my first shoot at Fareham studio. Andy was a brilliant host and was a great help with lights and setting up.

The studio has such a good range of sets to shoot and has been done really well. I would without a doubt recommend the studio and will be doing so.

I hope to work there again soon.

Another great shoot at Fareham Studio primarily trying out using flash, constant lighting and long exposures to capture dance movements. Andy was on hand to help with setting up the background and lighting for the shots along with providing really helpful advice on getting the best out of the shots. Fareham Studio is a great space to practice and learn and I highly recommend booking to anyone who might be considering it.

Done my first studio shoot today at Fareham studio. Andy was extremely helpful in helping me with how to use all the equipment and lighting. My camera decided to break but he was nice enough to go get his for me to use so it wasn't a wasted shoot.

The studio itself has a lot to offer and I'll definitely be back.

Thanks for the help! Highly recommended.

This is actually the second time I visited Fareham studio and have to say it is a lovely studio. I booked onto one of their group shoots which was great. It is a really good format that makes for a nice social shoot.

The studio itself is very well equipped, easy enough to find and offers some good shooting/set options that regularly change to keep things exciting. Rin is a wonderful host, has great knowldege of lighting set ups so can assist as needed and keeps the drinks and biscuits flowing which is always great :D

All in all 100% recommend this studio and will certainly be back :)

I absolutely love this studio. I was contacted by Rin to work with them for a group shoot, and I can honestly say it is my favourite studio to work at. The variety of sets, the dressing room and clothes available for models, and the expertise of the host are just a few of the things that have earned this studio’s spot at the top of my favourites list.

Rin is always on hand to help you achieve the perfect shot, and she is bursting with ideas and creativity, and as an experienced model herself is excellent at providing posing tips. Her and Andy are both so clearly passionate about the art of photography and care about their studio, which just makes you feel so excited to work alongside them.

Couldn’t recommend this place more, both for photographers and models alike :)

Fareham Studios has recently changed their layout, having the studio portion downstairs with the natural light selection still upstairs and although I was worried of walking into the unknown space, I found myself and ease straight away! The studio is still just as fabulous and actually has more space downstairs now. The property boasts lots of mini sets in the natural light selection upstairs, which is by far my favourite, it has a very soft and feminine feel to it, just the sort of stuff I aim to shoot!

Once again Andy, co studio owner, was on hand throughout to assist the photographers and was always offering a hot drink.

The studio is a truly fabulous space, utilised well and it really is a pleasure to work there.

Thankyou for an amazing shoot!

I've just realised to my eternal shame that despite using Fareham Studio for about three years, I've never left them a reference. What can I say, I love the place and absolutely won't use anywhere else.

For over two years now I haven't been able to walk properly I just have to do everything sitting down, Andy or Rin have to do everything for me, I just sit on a seat and order them around, I don't think I'd accept it with the good grace that they do, especially Andy who gets a fair bit of abuse thrown in with it, (I'm a lot more gracious with Rin).

They carry my cameras in from my car, set everything up how I want it, make and deliver coffee and biscuits at regular intervals, without them there'd be no photography for me at all.

On top of all that it's a great studio, loads of really good quality equipment, backgrounds and sets, all run by two very nice talented people.

My second shoot at Fareham Studios and my first in the revised layout, which I was able to fully utilise. Andy was brilliant once again and ever ready to provide helpful advice with the lighting and other equipment.

Definitely highly recommended.

Today I had the pleasure of shooting with Andy (co owner of Fareham Studio).

Communication with Andy was great from the start, he answered any questions I had, made me feel at ease and was really easy to talk to. Throughout the shoot we collaborated on ideas and created some stunning work. The studio space was excellent, with so much choice - I could shoot there for days and not get bored!

The dressing room was fabulous and equipped with everything from hair ties, makeup wipes, and accessories. I was seriously impressed with my shoot day today and I couldn’t recommend Fareham Studio enough.

I’m so excited to see the images and see what magic we created! Thank you Andy :)

My first shoot in the newly relocated downstairs area, which is even better than the previous upstairs version. Lots of different shooting opportunities and angles and I'm in love with the new wood feature wall. As ever, Rin was very helpful, providing useful input and suggestions during the shoot (and lots of tea!)

Definitely recommended and worth a visit!

My first shoot at Fareham Studio (with Pollyanna Hale).

Very impressive. Well equipped with plenty of 'stuff' to add interest to any image. Plenty of room too to wander around to choose different angles. And good natural lighting.

It is a little out of my way but should the opportunity arise I'd be more than happy to shoot there.

(And Andy was a very helpful host, helping me with a camera malfunction)

100% recommended.

I had my first shoot at Andy's studio today with Pollyanna. Andy is a welcoming host and has a wide selection of lighting and sets that make it easy to create different scenes, moods and effects. He is very helpful in setting up the different lights, and explaining the remote controls for each different light, from strobe to continuous. The studio also boasts a wide range of backdrops and large spaces with both natural and artificial light to suit different moods. A great place to shoot.

Fareham studio has had a move-around into the next door building which I saw for the first time today and I'm pleased to say it's as good as the old version! The new downstairs area in particular is really well suited to a traditional studio setup (with endless background and lighting options while upstairs has the same multiple unique 'sets'. There's a great dressing room and Andy is always to make a cuppa when needed!

I spent a marvellous 4 days at Fareham Studio recently! I was so happy to finally work there, and enjoyed it throughly. I found it a really inspiring, comfortable environment, and all the photographers that booked on were professional, creative and friendly to work with.

There's such a great range of backdrops, interesting sets and creative possibility whether using natural or flash lighting. Both Rin and Andy are superb studio owners, incredibly welcoming, laid back and helpful to everyone. Any changes to the backdrops or lights were adjusted swiftly, and they were very thoughtful with heating, tea, clean warm dressing gown and anything else needed from a model's point of view. I stayed at the studio itself which was very handy and comfortable.

Highly recommended!!! I wish I was closer so I could go more often, but look forward to visiting again in the future :-)

This was my first shoot at the Fareham Studio as part of Ivory Flame's studio day. It was a delight to see a wonderful range of interesting sets dotted throughout the studio but also a large traditional studio space. Then studio has plenty of high-end lighting equipment and back-drops. In-fact the studio can produce lighting for pretty-much anything you could think of. Rin was the perfect host, providing refreshments and expertise in setting up lighting on the sets. It was a fantastic shoot, and I can highly recommend the studio and look forward to future shoots at Fareham studio.

Many thanks

My first time shooting at Fareham and as other first timers have mentioned it is an impressive place to visit and use. Everything was ready to go on arrival and the various sets had been put together creatively and with flair.

Andy was on hand to guide me with the lighting. As it was a sunny day he opened up the rooflights so I could start off using natural lighting and take advantage of the sunny weather outside. At stages Andy helped to introduce constant lighting and strobe lighting. He was very helpful throughout, being available when I needed assistance, but then leaving me to it.

Fareham Studios have an impressive array of lights, modifiers and studio equipment and I can't ever imagine ever struggling to be able to light any scene or set up no matter how complex.

I will certainly use Fareham Studios again and fully endorse all of the other positive recommendations that they have received.
